Thank you so much, it was a viscose we sold years ago, but we do have some lovely viscose fabrics in stock here you could use instead: www.sewessential.co.uk/fabrics/dressmaking-fabrics/patterned-woven-fabrics just check the descriptions
I must admit I haven't worn blazers for years I think working in a corporate role put me off them, but just recently I am lusting after a navy pinstripe one. I'm not sure I have time to make it so I've been scouring Vinted to see if I can find something pre loved I can buy instead. I can't believe I'm missing such a crucial jacket in my collection!
Thanks Lucy. I resurrected 2 jackets, 1 silky bomber which I bought about 7 year's ago and 1 techy cropped trench styled jacket I bought about 9 years ago and wore once. Was working at the time so no time for too much sewing. Great vlog ❤
agreed a corduroy bomber would be awesome, warm and comfy. The one described by our lovely viewer below sounds like one I had in the 90s from river island, i loved that jacket so much, wish i still had it!
I love Jean jackets. I’ve made a lot of them over the years. I like Simplicity 1542 view A. I’ve made this several times. What is the blouse you are wearing? So cute!
they are just so easy to wear aren't they? sadly the blouse pattern has been discontinued now, it was a McCalls pattern I loved so much I made it twice. You can see me talking about it in this video and maybe you might be able to find an old copy of the pattern somewhere ua-cam.com/video/7b4_JdsP3_M/v-deo.html
Great video Lucy, as always. A couple of years ago I made a biker style jacket similar to the one shown using Lisette (Butterick) B6169 pattern. I made it in a black woven wool type which has a silver fleck in it. Really pleased with the result.
That sounds absolutely lovely Emma, a real timeless classic that would be easy to style with lots of different outfits for maximum use. I know the pattern you're talking about because I remember lusting over that one myself!
I really liked the first two patterns. I once had a cropped blazer in forest green with a skirt to match. I also really like the bomber jacket pattern. I also liked lined jackets if it gets cooler.
A few favourites here--> Papercut Patterns: Nova Coat, can be made as a coat or jacket and lined or unlined. I made the jacket in a beautiful purple coloured boiled wool with a darker purple anti static lining Papercut patterns: Emmi jacket. Can be made long, curved hem or jacket length, lined, unlined or reversible. Three pocket options including welt pockets and various collar options including hood, classic, funnel and bomber. Also an optional drawstring hem. I made the reversible jacket (quilted fabric and denim) with welt pockets, drawstring hem and because all the collar options are interchangeable (I KNOW!) I made all 4. Style Arc: Parker coat. I made this one up in a gorgeous pink and cream check wool mix Also…. I adore those options and the bomber looks really good. And then there is the spearmint denim you showed us… stunning!
Lucy, thanks for the suggestions on the jackets/coats, as I plan on making a few of them with your fabric options. I love your blouse as the fabric is beautiful and it looks wonderful on you. Each week I look forward to seeing what is new in your shop and the tips and sewing projects that you have been doing. Take care.❤
Thanks for such lovely feedback and your custom, ordering the fabrics and patterns from us helps me to keep producing the content and ideas for everyone so I really appreciate your support.
Thank you for another inspiring video! I enjoy the process of sewing coats and jackets, even though I don’t get to wear them much in my mild climate. Your blouse is lovely, is it a pattern?
Oh ya! Let’s cut ourselves right across our pudgy middles. So flattering…not. Only very slim people can afford to stylistically cut themselves off at the midsection. Where do designers think people’s eyes are going to gravitate to? A regular length blazer is so much more flattering.😮😊

I love that trench coat! I think I may have to buy that pattern!. I had a trench coat years ago but, if I still had it, it would be too small for me now!! I prefer fitted jackets which come to at least the hip. I have the Jasika pattern but haven't made it yet. I've never attempted tailoring before but I should get on with it. I love wearing a jacket over a dress, trousers or skirt.
Please could you recommend an online shop where I can buy good quality fabrics. Not just to make these lovely javkets. But ideally a pencil skurt, dress, or top. I love your channel.
Great video absolutely love your blouse could you please let me know what type of fabric you used thank you.

Thanks Lucy. I still love to wear a single fronted blazer in linens, wool you name it. I loved your blouse. Lovely style and fabric.

I've only ever made one, it must be a wonderful feeling to have made so many.

Definitely Calvin Klein made one for guys corduroy with a padded lining.

Love it Lucy my trench was in your coral cotton sateen, always get asked where I bought it from when I am out in it. I love it ❤❤❤
I remember that beauty Kathryn, such a great project I love it too, nearly Spring now so you can wear it again too - yay!
You too? I lose clothing as well, even if I haven't been travelling. It's so strange.

Love the blouse and fabric, I was drawn to it straight away. Enjoyed the vlog too 😂
I have made the Isla coat in the beige fabric and I love it, it was a most satisfying make xx

I truly like them all ❤
