I'm late to the party here, friend of mine got bardsung for Christmas 2023, doing my homework so we can get it to the table next week. Thank you for your playthrough and excitement, your paint job is fantastic!
You’re so welcome!! Glad you enjoyed the playthrough. The game is fun. You will have to tell me how your game goes. Thank you for the nice complement!!!! 😃😃👍
Seeing how passionate you are for the game is great. I hope you turn this into a series. Well done on the paint job too. I need to break out my paints as well. One mistake I noticed in your favor was at 1:44:36, you rolled a nat 20, which is an automatic crit. So the rat would have a wound as well at this point. Anyway, keep up the great work.
You are 100% correct I totally missed that. I’ll make sure to put a note in the video. Thanks TumbleDryLo. Yea this will become a series for sure!!! Thanks for watching 😃😃👍
Wow! Awesome game dungeon crawl game 😃👍 everything I love in a game great tile's, great pictures on the cards, great minis, great game mechanics 🧰 now I just got to order it for my table! Thanks Bairnt always love watching your playthroughs there very entertaining!
Thank you David!!! I agree this is a top notch game!! they did a very good job in all the different areas of the game!! I hope you get a chance to grab a copy its been super fun so far!! Always a pleasure to hear from you thank you for watching
It's really nice to watch you play through this game. I've completed the 2 tutorials and have already house ruled not mixing the cards, but rolling a d20 for each card on the initiative tracker. I have a bunch of different colored dice. And on ties, whichever die is physically further north is the one that goes first.
Thanks glad you have been enjoying it. I think that is a great idea using the dice to help. Sadly that shuffling the initiative deck was a good idea gone wrong since the backs of the cards are so obvious. 😃😃👍
@@MeetMeAtTheTable Yup. And I saw you were constantly pulling the card from the sleeve and back in. I actually forgot to start the big armored dude, I'll call him a brute, I forgot to start the brute on his non-enraged side. So had a room of easy brutes. And thats with both sides virwable. Lol. But it was late. I'll blame it on getting tired. You play so many campaigns. Will you ever do a video to describe what you liked and didn't like on a group of them? Not necessarily a top 10, unless you wanted to do that format. But more a compare/contrast of which had great story, mechanics, production value, and which you played more of after the videos weren't being produced more.
Always a good day when we get to watch Bairnt playthrough. I found the doors to be annoying since they continually fall over when opened....but I fixed that issue with some poster tack on the bottom of them and they no longer slide off the tiles when bumped. 44:30 In case you never got a definitive answer, you played the banner and pinning situation correctly. The Banner moves the card to the last space, but doesn't re-organize/shift the marching order. Pinning causes the Character card to remain in the same space of the marching order when re-shuffling. 1:51:00 I haven't been able to confirm this, but I always follow the attack effects from left to right. I like to Imagine Dawnguard smacking the rat into a wall across the room to kill it, thus allowing the passive ability to regenerate Fate to kick-in. 2:10:50 Throwing knives ability when upgraded would still be at a +1 range, but it gives the Dodge on a Miss effect. You can also upgrade Piercing Strike for 2 XP.
Thank you Gale your enjoyed it. Yes this game is really fun. I am excited to return to it soon. I agree those doors are something else they look cool but are not the most practical. I though that might be how that pin works. Yeah it’s a hard choice for the rogues upgrades not sure what to go with. Thanks for the great comment Dayrell01 always a pleasure to hear from you thanks as always for watching 😃😃👍
Thank AM C hope you enjoy it. I am having a blast with this game. It hits many good things I like in dungeon crawlers. Always good to hear from you. 😃😃👍
great playthrough. Bardsung really looks like an awesome game. a really interesting mix of mechanics. Also interesting story. I do hope you play some more.
Thanks for the playthrough! I enjoyed watching even though this wasn't for me. Too similar to a basic D&D campaign and since I have a regular group (and Massive Darkness 2 heading my way soon... Hopefully) it just didn't make sense to pull the trigger. I'll keep watching if you end up continuing. Wishing you many more adventures!
Thanks MorgaKnight. Totally get that. It does feel like an old school DND dungeon crawl. I have a DND group as well we met very Saturday night. It’s blast. I do plan on continuing this adventure so stay tuned. Thanks for the great comment and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
Thanks Bairnt for the excellent playthrough! I really enjoyed the ease at which you went through the session. Despite the pre-campaign lofty promises of a truly unique and heavy RPG-ish dungeon crawler, I find it to be fairly on par with Shadows of Brimstone in terms of dungeon and enemy generation (although using perhaps somewhat newer techniques) and rather conflict-heavy as combats take up a lot of the session time. That in itself should not be labeled bad - it might be what many are looking for (like fans of Warhammer Quest of HeroQuest) but I like a little more variety of dungeoneering, a little more discovery and exploration. I wanted to add 'story' but I'm actually rather surprised about the amount of that. Sadly and despite the insertion of unique event cards, there is still too much procedural and random generation of monsters, events and tiles to give me that coherent specificity I seek in scenarios, that tailored drama and window dressing that, for instance Descent, Middara, Okko Chronicles and Chronicles of Drunagor have. Not that it's a competition, mind you. I was just hoping Bardsung would really be all they promised it to be in their marketing campaign. But who knows? It may still come. In any case, I am super glad you like it cuz now I get to follow your continued adventures which is ALWAYS a delight! Thanks again!
This is a great write up. Thank you Marcel!!! Yes this is going to be a great time. There is so much to like here!!! Always a pleasure to hear from you and thanks as always for watching 😃😃👍
At 1:15:00 I am struggling to understand how the Nightfeather did the piercing strike from range 2. That corridor seems to have 5 zones in total (shaped like a cross with 5 areas respectively). So the Nightfeather does not seem to be close enough to use that attack, let alone use the knives too for the targets that are even further away. No?
Great question. It’s been a while since I have played this but the tile only has 2 zones cutting it in half Diagonally. The art is misleading cus it looks like it is cut into 4 parts. Now I could be wrong and if I am then you are correct I wouldn’t be able to make those attacks hope that helps thanks for the great question and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
@kobarsos82 I agree the tiles are a little confusing for sure. Again it’s been a while and I am sure that I totally missed his resilience. Thanks for the great comments 😃😃👍
Yeah resilience is like armor, every hero starts with a number there, like 1 or 2. These are added to the defense rolls. ^^ Cheers !!@@MeetMeAtTheTable
Gregory I am glad I did, It is super fun. I was very surprised at how good this game is. Thanks for the great comment hope you get a chance to find this game. Thanks as always for watching😀😀👍
During the Nightfeather overview you mention they get +1 to intelligence, but that icon is for wisdom. I find the Int and Wis icons are a bit easy to mix up. I think of Wis comes from the experience of reading books, Int is a natural tallent of the mind. That makes it easier for myself to identify the right icons.
@@MeetMeAtTheTable Very happy to see you made a video for Bardsung. I really enjoy your play throughs. Also first time you shuffled the marching order I was asking, “Where’s the truffle shuffle?” Happy to see this in the 2nd marching order shuffle.
Thank you!!! Glad you enjoyed it. I have really been impressed with bardsung. Ahhhh I can Believe I missed the truffle shuffle lol!!! Thanks for your continued support Jeremy 😃😃👍
The entrance tile has 4 zones and heroes start in the stairs zone. On Skullsplitter's first turn they would have to first move one zone, and then explore. You skipped over the move action, maybe because the zones are a bit difficult to see on the entrance tile. This also would mean that Skullsplitter's actions would be used up and he couldn't move after the explore. Deep Pockets aspect card in turn 1. You mixed up the delayed and sustained icons. Since this is a delayed aspect card it should have gone to the delay slot at the end of the marching order.
Oh I didn’t realize that. The tiles are a bit hard to tell some times. It makes sense though. Other wise you would always go straight some the other 2 areas would make you use a move action. Thank you for the help Jeremy I’ll make sure to put a not in the video. Thanks so much for watching 😃😃👍
@@MeetMeAtTheTable I think there’s a sheet that shows the zones more clearly. I recall seeing that on someone’s unboxing video. Still waiting for my copy. Got an email today that it’s shipping and will be here May 5.

Seems like a fairly standard entry level crawler for those just getting into the genre. They could have done something better i think to clean up all the symbols on the characters though.

The rules for this game are confusing, the character trays are annoying and that the initiative cards come with different colored backs or even monster stats is unbelievable... But you have such a fun way to present the play through I enjoyed it a lot!

@@MeetMeAtTheTable Wow. That certainly isn’t clear in the rulebook as per the second paragraph on page 9. So, for clarification, the initial attack does not cost a fate but on a successful hit, the chain attack costs a fate?
@@EdocUTube that is completely true. The initial attack of the chain cost the fate of the ability is the original attack like my skull splinters attack. If the original attack doesn’t cost fate then only the chain will. The chain then will cost a fate but not an additional one for the card. Sorry if I wasn’t clear hope that makes sense.
