- Alpha G is hands down one the COOLEST GTRs we have filmed to date. You couldn’t find a flaw on this GTR if you TRIED to. AMS has taken the Nissan R35’s VR38 V6 engine and squeezed nearly 3000 HORSEPOWER out of it! That power combined with a lot of lost weight makes this Nissan Skyline a drag MONSTER. However, putting that power down efficiently is whole different story. AMS is closer than ever to that 6 second pass everyone is chasing! The battle for the drag racing world record in the GTR world is fierce, and Gidi is at the front edge of it! The battle continues as shops fight for the top spot!

I am literally in love with every piece and part on this car. Just when you think there's no way this car could get better, it does. 6's in the very near future. And all the haters saying its a door slammer and not a real car anymore, he's going for a world record and that is what it takes. It's not like he's trying to make this his daily or pick up the kids in it after school. Give this man and his crew some of their well deserved credit. Him and his car are absolute beasts and I am looking forward to seeing the number 6 on that board at the finish!

No GTR has been 6s yet, unless you talking about the fiberglass promods that are RWD and just run a vr38 engine, the race is for a stock chassis platform awd gtr in the 6s

I don't know if you saw it, but Gidi made a pass after running 7.12 and the clock failed on them. If you watch it, it really does look like he hit 6s. It's on AMS's UA-cam channel.

I feel as though it gets to a point where awd isn't even really an advantage anymore. Watching that thing squat and wheelie like it did, might go faster just flying down the track on the back wheels lol. I don't know the technical details of this but it appears as though the rear slicks are enough to put the power down and the front wheels being as big as they are just creates added friction and drag on the big end of the track.
Andrew Kerman it's not running awd, just rear wheel Drive for the burnout, awd for the launch, then I'm guessing rwd after it's settled say after 100 -130
THE-GOAT-79 interesting. I wonder how much advantage there even is in the middle of the track running it. I mean by that logic it would switch to rwd before the 1/8 and it Carries the front wheels for probably the first 20 feet.
Well I'm guessing if it's one less differential for the power to go through it's bound to help, but in drag times every tenth shaved a win win situation.
Nah its a disadvantage to get a wheelie .. The Front must kick before the rear by a mili second at least .. otherwise tracktion lost .. now an all whelldrive electric bike has come out .. 0 to 100 km/hr in 2 seconds only .. why ? coz its a 2 wheel drive

+big_fred there are no AWD Civics quicker then this GTR that i know of. But there is the s2000 that runs 6.9 while shifting. and 6.5 second RWD civics that are fully built drag cars.
