Hello I’m just now entering straight off work lol. I am currently a Rutgers student finishing my degree as an undergraduate this summer. I still have a few science courses to complete however I want to attended the Rutgers PA program. How do I become a competitive applicant?
I can relate to that one applicant.. I fell behind the past semester in a class because of my dad having cancer, and he passed away last month and it’s been really tough on me..
I’m so sorry to hear that :/ RIP to your dad. Y’all are both in my thoughts and prayers Also, do your absolute best not to fall behind. Of course it’s understandable, anyone would understand falling behind at a time like this, but don’t do it. Push through. Keep your grades high by any means necessary. When you are practicing medicine, you will have very difficult emotional things to deal with, and that does not take away your responsibility. So now, as a student, assume that same level of responsibility.

Does having Rutgers/NJ ties help an applicant when applying?
Probably not officially
Not exactly. My class has more out of state students than in state. Rutgers really likes diversity
