The reason why we don't know what happens is because once he left, we didn't have the right to know anymore. He's not in a reality tv show anymore his life is his and his only. So it's very symbolic. He's finally free from the show and thus from the movie I guess. So us not knowing what happens after he steps out is very logical.
director could make 2 more movie on these.. actors behind Truman show and what will happen after Truman escape
Your comment is the best content I've ever read online.
They is very few people out there who think like I do so to see someone think the same thing I did is good to see.
We don't have the right to know what happened to him. He just got the first bit of privacy he had ever had in his life and the first thing people want to know is what he is doing lol everyone is way too noisy these days arnt their mate. So we're you from then ? 😂😂😂
This is just a dumb attempt to be deep and intellectual. Everyone is monitored extensively. Without our knowledge.
@@koolkanoactors behind Truman show would work but not the other one
@@KMoney-uo3uractors behind the Truman show are accessories to unlawful imprisonment, most likely the director will go to prison and probably the other actors. But the real crime is the house Truman lives in is actually Senator Matt Gatetz childhood home.
Lawsuit, lots of lawsuits. He sues the corporation for everything they did to him, and gets a payout worth billions.
There'd be lots of lawyers who were / are fans of his and would offer to represent him in court, I think.
@@operatorchakkoty4257gotta imagine his contract was pretty iron clad between him and the entire production.
I like to think about the moment Truman sees Sylvia’s apartment for the first time and realizes there’s been a whole movement trying to liberate him and that she’s an activist in that movement. That the whole time he’s been trying to get to Fiji, she’s been trying to get him out. 💗
I think we all want the final ending of him meeting sylvia and going to Fiji to live happily ever after. Is that the realistic ending? No, probably not. To be frank, him going down a mental spiral is far more realistic. But the good ending, where Truman is happy, is the one I choose to believe not because it's what I think would happen but because It's what I want to happen. The reason the film is left open ended is for just that, to allow the viewer to end the movie how they want it to end. So, I choose to make him happy.
Agreed Bc I believe he could’ve ended up not trusting the real world either and having mental break downs where things that so happen to add up or seem like it’s correlated with something it’s not might just be enough to make him go nuts feeling like he’s being watched still.
Yeah in my opinion you could argue either that love is what bounds one to reality, since love is what started him questioning reality its also what will help him understand reality. Or he could end up becoming too existentialist to the point he wonders if his own escape was also part of a script within a script, I mean if you break the 4th wall his escape quite literally was written by Peter Weir. I think if he finds Silvia he would be A okay but if that proves difficult he probably would go insane.
im more interested in the real world Truman live in, what kind of dystopic society if they r willing to imprison a person in a studio for fun...
Not THAT far removed from our world, unfortunately...though it would certainly require a couple laws to be changed for that to happen.
She seems to love him a great deal and was waiting all that time in California for him. She will help him trust again and help him heal. I think she was running there to pick him up and take him away from all that nonsense 🙄
that's such a great video. glad somebody is talking about what happens to truman after the show ends. not a lot of stuff about this out there !
He turned into Tom from my space and traveled the world with all the lawsuit money from the studio when he sued them for holding him captive his whole lifeLOL
This is probably the best video on this topic that I've seen, and I've literally watched them all.
And yes I do have personal reasons for being interested in what people think about this subject.
You are the first person to speculate on the possible damage done to Truman by having to live in a fake world all his life, and how his owners selfishly manipulated him to make him into who they wanted him to be. and how that could have damaged him.
"Trust issues for the rest of his life"... and that's just for starters!
If Truman is a reasonably intelligent and mentally strong person he may yet turn out alright, but if he is flawed in any substantial way, discovering that his entire life was a lie could destroy him.
So hear me out. In my opinion, if they ever decided to do a Truman show sequel they should consider making it opposite to how he lived during his years on the show. He gets completely showered with attention, endless sponsors, money, woman, true temptation. Imagine him coming out into a world where his love interest leaves him eventually, he gets sick down the line, he travelled to Fiji only to find out no matter the destination there is and end point. He tries seeking fame to capitalize his situation to survive the real world and ends up becoming an attention seeking celebrity that people around the world end up despising or simply not caring so much about as the years go by. The fact is, he's become a regular person now, and the world is a cruel place and he starts to re-imagine his life again if he never found out at all. I honestly think the dark road is endless in this situation. Doesn't need to be evil, just real world idea's.
But here truman is not literally a 'star'.he is just a commodity for the people.his life is just an entertainment for them.they will switch to other show and somehow stop bothering him in the real world.
What if every one of us is a Truman? And that door represents death...Nobody can know what happens to a Truman when we leave the set. I may be misquoting this but didn`t Shakespeare remark that the world is a stage ,and we are all but players?
We are all Truman. Either we are him before his epiphany or after
The ending was so well done bro i swear
And the entire movie is really good
I think Truman would sue the production company under the idea of the 13th Amendment meaning that they bought him without his knowledge and there forth made him a slave. Yes, he was maybe "paid". But the company would most likley have no footing to stand on. So he would most likley win.
I imagine the moment he stepped out from the dome he found himself in Hollywood where 100s of people who were watching live raced out on to the streets to catch a glimpse of him [the most famous person on Earth for 30 yrs] they would be calling his name and filming him, some would try touch and grab at him. He would be dazed and scared feeling he still trapped... he would resent these people as he knows they been watching him and most likely panic and begin running without any idea where he running to... everyone would follow after him... he is terrified he cant shake them. eventually the police pick him up and take him to the station. The media broadcast it... Sylvia finds him there they reunite and he feels euphoric for a short while being with his love he has longed for, for all those years.. Truman lives out the rest of his life with Sylvia completely emotionally damaged and a paranoid recluse... perhaps he doesnt sue the Truman show and network because he cant face dealing with it. But the network is forced to pay him for the rest of his life so he never needs to work
I think if we take this from a basic psychological perspective, Truman's life outside of the dome would probably be pure chaos and misery and probably end in a very tragic way.
I think he would have ended up killing himself, eventually; even if he married, even if he lived a normal life, of that or a star: Eventually, his trauma, which isn't a questionable aspect of his life post show, would've gotten to him, and he'd have killed himself.
Realistically, if the buss wouldn't have done him in, his trauma would've.
totally agree
There was already man who was recorded for a TV show, and in self isolation for a great deal of time as well. He is doing ok. Not great but ok.
Thats your point of view. I see a Truman who will get more attention then ever before. He will get job offers you could never imagine. Everybody would want a piece of him. If he manages to get to Sylvi then with her Management his and her life would be even better in the end then in the show.
@@melisadeopal2478who is he??
@@Yusa25yes definitely.
He would live happily ever after for as we all know, celebrity status is the pinnacle of life.
He would not struggle one bit to adapt to a world which isn't built around him.
He definitely would not have major trust issues and personality disorders based upon the deception of his early life.
🙃
This channel is underrated. Keep going man. I know it’s a lot of work but seriously don’t give up, you got something going for you here. It’s overwhelming but don’t be afraid to do shorter, maybe more trendy videos as well as the big ones you love doing if that means gaining momentum in the early years of a channel. Seriously though, I’ve been waiting for someone to make a video like this because I’ve been looking for one forever. Great video man, keep it up!
Imagine how much media is lost for the truman show in universe
There's a quote that sums up my take. There is no greater defender of an idea, that the person whose life was ruined by it.
This is awesome! You really got me thinking!
One Word: LAWSUIT!!!!!!!!
Well done Sam! I will have to watch the movie as I am now intrigued.
Love paparazzi playing in the back, makes so much sense
Truman moves to Fiji with Sylvia, hundreds more Truman Shows pop up to try and fill the gap.
I think you missed another obvious ending. Truman sues everyone involved in the show for Human Trafficking, .failure to pay at least the minimum acting wages, and failure to follow guardianship laws regarding money earned my minor actors (from birth to 18).
Don’t think he could do that because they didn’t violate any laws, at the most, he could start a movement to change the laws
He def had the most severe ptsd and probably developed schizophrenia
I assume it must have had a child actor effect. I’m guessing Sylvia ran to where he was and they lived together but I think he still would want to travel and everyone would recognize him where he went. He could still never be left alone. It’s probable he would have a breakdown. I also wonder if the crew talked to him when he went out the door. Where did the door lead to?
3:35 Holy Sh*t Thats Chozen From Karate Kid
8:39 - 9:37 what song is that beat from someone please help
midnight sun by ramzoid
16:55 He does NOT hold Meryl at knifepoint. Watch the scene again. SHE is threatening HIM with the knife, and he disarms her and restrains her, then immediately someone else shows up, and he brandishes the knife at the intruder and lowers it when he sees that it’s just Marlon. Truman never threatened or harmed Meryl. She was coming at him with a weapon, slicing it around in the air and moving towards him, and he neutralized her attack.
Notice that the INSTANT he gets the knife away from her he immediately moves the knife as far from her as possible. He does the OPPOSITE of threatening her with it, he holds it out of her reach trying to keep her from getting hurt as well as keep her from getting the weapon back.
I totally agree with everything you just pinpointed. Wonder why people can’t see the reality of what we see? Most people are always trying to twist and turn the story and make it a lie. Thank you for being real in your commentary
heres my top 3 endings that could have been canon.
23:11 3rd Place: truman changes his name to jim carrey and restarts his life to a acting career.
(imagine being free of a fake life and wanting to start over with a new life and get familiar with the current state of the world, it could be hard cuz your shows name truman kinda sticks then trying to be the alias jim carrey, it could be possible thou)
4:12 2nd Place: truman becomes a celebrity
(leaving the fake world behind and now you have thousands of people cheering, cameras flashing on you and all of that, as good as that life is, he spent 30 years of his life living in a fake world, he wants to take a break, relax and refresh before wanting to see another camera again)
23:28 1st Place: truman finds sylvia and gose to Fiji living happily ever after
(it was his number one goal, he may deal with a little paparazzi, he wants to get out ASAP, and its a little easier sense hes outside, once truman left the dome sylvia leaves her apartment, possibly a few streets near the dome so she probably knows where truman maybe exiting and be ready to pick him up, as for if they will go to Fiji, its all in the air but they could Fiji, but no matter where they go, 1 thing is certain, truman wont have to deal with living in a lie ever again)
W video absolutely love this video
He would become a Celebrity, but would sour on it after a short time, because of trust issues, and feelings of being used. I can see him moving to a desolate area in Montana and dying at age 45.
He invents total recall in asia but knows he will forever be secret agent and the war in Asia is put to ease when the head of the two army's takes a new fantasy look online giving a outlook how he took. it like a wow experience and had face transplant with best buddy Tom cruise. Anyways I'm the 4 ever robots from 1987. I'm a babysimulat no n experiment in jpl
What he becomes more like V ?
He died by getting shooted in the eye
the guy deserves alot of back-pay at least!
Where is our Sequel Jim Carrey?
He'd be a multi billionaire from probably what what would be the biggest lawsuit in history.
Then he'd pay for a therapist to help with his trust issues, get with the girl, and everything would have ended perfectly!
How the hell would anyone adapt to the Real World after being lied to for so long? Like NONE of the people you knew in your life was real. You would have MAJOR trust issues and pretty much everyone knows who he is. It would be hard for him to avoid starstruck folks who would recognize him. Imagine the image of Michael Jackson having to rent out a grocery store to shop like a real person for a day. But multiplied by a thousand. Honestly I would be surprised if Truman doesn't develop some form of schizophrenia cause of this. The consequences on Truman's life due to his time in this whole social experiment of a reality TV show is horrifying to consider. Plus Truman hardly had any privacy whatsoever. He would always feel like he is being watched and thus be paranoid and for good reason. The subtext in this film is rather horrifying to consider in what it can do to a person.
Idk about that apartment with real parents and friends, they literally didn't want him at birth 😂
Truman would never watch or own a television.... He probably literally would sail to Fiji to get far away/explore And what'sherface left the room the minute Truman went through the door... I bet she lives on the exit side of the studio to some degree and planned to meet him and they sailed away together. Clearly that's what happened. She would help him through the trauma, no biggie.
But I do agree for money to travel that a lawsuit would happen against the corporation. But he wouldn't lose. Adoption is not the same as false imprisonment/emotional abuse/defamation of character/invasion of privacy/human trafficking .... Once he became a legal adult they had no right to keep him trapped there he couldn't leave because the show showed how he was deliberately prevented from leaving. He'd win all the money and shut down the studio...
I think Truman was a patient at some psychiatric institute and everyone was just playing along with his fantasies. Sylvia was probably a visitor/another patient/made up and the Director was the doctor. I dont think Truman ever managed to leave the show/institute. He was probably caught on the other side of the door, put to sleep and brought back to the institute. Only to restart living his fantasy. The doctor is hoping to finally make him realize his true identity and maybe help him. ( I know it sounds alot like Shutter Island)
My take might be a little dark, but bear with me. Truman leaves, meets Sylvia, they fall back in love, she encourages him to fight the production company, which he does for a while. They settle out of court. The animosity towards the company gradually dies down, and they decide to start fresh with someone new. Truman is struggling to find meaning outside and it causes some tension between him and Sylvia. When the show is starting up again he finds some meaning in trying to get it stopped. He meets with the new creator. They promise to not repeat the mistakes they made with him. The new creator is an orphan, and they seem to bond over this. They ask Truman to come on board as a consultant, to ensure they don't mistreat their new star. He reluctantly agrees, and at first he is vocal about anything remotely exploitative, but his he is going through a difficult time, his relationship with Sylvia is deteriorating after his decision to return to the show in this new way. The ratings after starting strong have been plummeting. The new creator is being blamed and Truman feels responsible for vetoing any plans to mistreat the star for views. On a particularly difficult day, Truman acquiesces. He allows ratings to take priority over his conscience. He is manipulated into believing he's doing the right thing by the board. The new creator is under a lot of scrutiny due to the low ratings and when disagreeing with a particularly cruel storyline, the new creator is fired. Truman is pressured to take on the role. Sylvia has finally had enough, and leaves him upon his acceptance of the job. He becomes far crueller than Christof ever was, and the ratings surpass even those of his era.
