- On the issue of the suppression of the press during his era, Mahathir denied that he was responsible for the calls from the Prime Minister's Office to media organisations instructing that certain news reports be removed.
The former premier blamed this on his subordinates instead.
Mahathir then compared himself to caretaker prime minister Najib Razak and stressed that the two do not share similar traits.

13. STAR LRT- 2 perjanjian konsesi 60 tahun telah ditandatangani dengan STAR. 22 Disember 1992 untuk Fasa 1 dan Fasa 2 pada 26 Jun 1995. Pembinaan siap dan operasi bermula cukup masanya untuk Sukan Komanwel 1998 di Kuala Lumpur. Kos projek dianggarkan RM3.5 bilion!!
14. PUTRA LRT - Perjanjian konsesi selama 60 tahun telah dianugerahkan kepada PUTRA pada 7 Ogos 1995. Ianya dimiliki oleh Renong Sdn. Bhd. Pembinaan bermula pada bulan September 1995 dan operasi bermula 1 September 1998 (Fasa 1) dan 1 Jun 1999 (Fasa 2). Kos projek dianggarkan RM4.35 bilion. Malangnya, kedua-dua pemegang konsesi menghadapi masaalah kewangan tidak lama selepas memulakan operasi. Pada bulan November 2001, Prasarana milik Kerajaan terpaksa menyelamatkan STAR dan PUTRA dengan membayar hutang terkumpul STAR dan PUTRA berjumlah *RM7.8 bilion* serta mengambil alih semua aset/operasi pada Mei 2002.
15. KL Monorail - Konsesi selama 30 tahun telah dianugerahkan pada 26 April 1997 kepada KL Monorail. Ianya dijadualkan siap pada pertengahan 1998 untuk Sukan Komanwel di Kuala Lumpur. Terpaksa dijadualkan semula pada pertengahan 2000. Operasi hanya bermula pada 23 Ogos 2003. Kosnya ialah RM1.169 bilion. KL Monorail pula tidak mampu dibayar oleh pihak konsensi walau pun turut menerima pinjaman RM300 juta daripada kerajaan Persekutuan. Prasarana mengambil alih KL Monorail System Sdn Bhd pada bulan November 2007 serta mengambil alih hutangnya yang bernilai RM880 juta.
16. BAS INTRAKOTA - Intrakota Komposit Sendirian Berhad, anak syarikat DRB-Hicom Berhad dipilih pada tahun 1994 untuk menjalankan perkhidmatan bas bandar di Kuala Lumpur dan sekitar pinggir bandar. Syarikat ini turut mengalami masaalah kewangan dan Prasarana milik kerajaan telah mengambil alih pada tahun 2004 dengan kos sebanyak RM177 juta.
16. SILTERRA - rugi terkumpul demi kroni2 kat Kulim ialah RM2 billion!
17. JARING - gagal (berbillion2)
18. MEC ELECTRONIC GAMBANG - bankrap terkumpulnya hga kini - RM1billion

my parents told me when Dr. Mahathir is in power in the government, he would do anything for the country own good, some of his decision may seems extreme, but the goal never changed. He developed Putrajaya is a fact, KLCC & KL Tower were constructed during his time is a fact, he developed the country is a fact. Reporters must have professional ethics when questioning. Questioning bluntly and sarcastically only demoralize reporters profession.

What i understand when questioning and answering session the cameraman will focus on both sides to reflex reporting professionalism and quality reporting. This bunch of reporters seems to be from hand picked for a special purpose and that hiding their identity to protect their personal interest.

The riots occured in many western countries is because the media reporting the sensitive issue to another parties, which flaming the issues. Total free media output to public is not acceptable. When two people fighting, they dont punching straightaway, they say out words first then started punching face so you media, you can make world war 3 happen. So be proud.
If i was the media reporter might as well report on daily crime statistic and illegal immigrants court cases in Malaysia.

Be assertive, confident and also objective about your questions and be straight forward if you are not too smart to go around it.If you watch enough of all Dr M interviews be it locally or internationally you will notice he always answer in a calm manner no matter how sharp those questions are.He may be old now but he never fail to hold himself well and articulate so perfectly.How many well known natural born speakers do we have in Malaysia? Everyone wants a perfect Prime Minister. Baik dan lengkap semualah. Truth be told, there isn't one. But the closest we have to the best thing, irregardless of his shortcomings, is Tun Mahathir. A true negarawan, he cared about us the rakyat, our standards of living and education, the growth of our economy and the vision to make Malaysia a developed country by 2020. He wasn't perfect, far from it, but he is our negarawan.

TUN M is our only Hope now for Malaysia and for all Rakyat. He's always my idol and we have to give him 101%respect what he has done so far and as for now he is even better person who knows what he should do more for our country and people's before he can really have a peace of mind at his aged now. Power, money, status to him is not important anymore for him. So we Rakyat should appreciated him as not mess up or try separating each other's .
Forget about previous government as the already gone with the wind.

It was during Tun's era that surau (mini mosques/Muslim praying space) were built in all public facilities like shopping centers, gas stations, rest areas, airports, bus stations, etc. Tun treated the need for surau like a need for restrooms. The idea later spread on to even private facility like restaurants, great, food courts etc...as a Muslim, I find today a Muslim no longer has an excuse not to pray 5 times a day anywhere in Malaysia..

If the media published slandered story or article about you without proof and presence of actual fact, of course you have every rights to demand the reporter to back off and should stop his action using your powerful PM office, even file a defamation lawsuit against the newspaper to derail their character assassination campaign.
Even the journalist,reporters from ABC,BBC,Singapore & Many other were trapped by their own questions and Issues..dont mess with Tun M .....
