Had Stingers, upgraded to 2's. It's very much an upgrade I can tell you that. Build quality also is better than 1's, more depth, more bass, and more noise cancellation. Comfier than 1's, and loud as hell. Mic is somewhat the same, but the sponge on mic goes a long way. Everyone said they can't hear anything besides my voice now, and that was not the case with 1's(they heard clicking, and background noises). So, yeah. Overall upgrade from 1's definitely.
Im so glad i got these over the Turtle Beach 200's. I got the white pair and i must say they are VERY comfortable for me. My ears fit perfect in there, they sit very well on my head, and the sound is so crisp and not over bearing. As for the cheap plastic type design i would HIGHLY recommend you always get the extended warranty with ANY product revolving around gaming because you never know what might happen. Overall id give these things a solid 10/10. Im also a 6 year Army Ranger Vet who has really bad hearing from tinnitus and even im blown away at how good the sound is.
late but i have tinnitus too, do you hear footsteps? i just feel discouraged especially when playing cod because now days, its about information which is consisted of audio cues that i just cannot hear
Not gonna lie. My stinger 2 came in the mail today and I was expecting light weight cheap plastic and materials like the recon 70 TB That’s not the case here at all. It’s solid as a rock. I genuinely expected it to feel like a cheap piece of junk.
Rocking that goatee bro 👍 Seems like hyperX really hits their headsets really well in the value department. pleasantly surprised by how good the mic sounded for the price point too. That build makes me a bit nervous though. Good video man.
Great review! Wasn't aware they had a sequel for my personal pair of gaming headset. They're serving me really well so far. Approaching one year of ownage.
@@mars-x6y the fit is nice. I don't have anything to complain about the cushions. Also can't complain about the sound quality. Though I'm not a audiophile or that much of a gamer so don't take my word for it...
I think i know the whats casused the comfort issue. I just got mine today. Even though its a full swivel the forward swivel is almost non existent. Thus causing pressure on my front jaw line leaving back ear side feeling empty. Checked my old cloud stinger that does not have this issue because of the forward/outward swivel movement. Comfort wise the old cloud stinger still a lot better
I'm digging the goatee! I've personally been enjoying the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless. Great review as always, I hope you have a great rest of your day c:
Hello from the UK mate i really love your reviews and your energy, great stuff. Seen a bunch of your headset reviews and i think im gona finally go with these ones. Thanks a lot and keep it up 👍🏼
I have headsets like this; they confuse my ears because they sound like expensive headphones but the plastic feels cheaper than the spoon Wendy's gives you with a Frosty. And I'm not sure about wearing a headset that feels worse than disposable cutlery.
Here in my country Corsair HS80 USB is selling for 135$ & HyperX Cloud II Wired is selling for 90$.I am a PC user don't have a console. Would love the headphone to last a couple of years & I play n stream FPS titles like PUBG,COD etc. Which one to go for according to you?
Hyperx popular gaming headset is the cloud 2 yet it’s still doesn’t have a detachable cable like on the alpha and alpha s, imo the cloud 2 should have that feature everything else is perfect on the cloud 2 it’s just missing a detachable cable feature
Thanks for the review! I have to admit it’s somewhat shocking to see a Hyperx headset that isn’t very cozy or built well. Let’s hope that isn’t a new trend for their future products.
I had the original Stingers for about 2 years. I personally didn't like them - the build quality was lacking, you could hear the plastic creaking, the mic swivel mechanic broke in a way that the mic always swiveled down and didn't stay firm in one spot. The ear cushions were decent, but they are not the most durable either. The sound on the original Stingers was also kinda mediocre, i've had to open up the headset numeous times to fix some stuff with the drivers. It has pretty light clamping force and they are lightweight, but it also comes at a cost of not being as immersed into the sound, because the ear is further away from the drivers. And lastly, i wasn't particularly a fan of design, but that's not really as important for me. I'd personally stay away from them. This revision seems to look significantly better for once and at least from the first glance, built better too, thus possibly more durable. The mic also sounds pretty acceptable and looks to be more firm in one place. As with how the headset sits in ears, the stronger clamping force is definitely necessary in my opinion and the fact that it still has that earcup swivel is great too. Glad to see HyperX stepping up their game a bit, but from the things i've bought from HyperX, which includes the previously mentioned Stinger headset, a mouse and a mousepad, really only the mousepad is the one i still like.
I dont mind plastic build but please make good enough build like g335 or g773 plastic as they are far more durable plastic rather than razer kraken plastic. The stinger 2 imo is build to be broken after 2 accidental fall to the floor or after 2 years usage
Is there a brand that makes durable headsets? The main issue I have with headsets is the plastic usually starts to crack and break within a year and I'm very careful with my headsets. It's usually the plastic that connects the headband to the earcups that breaks 1st.
Been trying to get these to work, I plugged in the splitter, and no sound is coming out of them at all, not sure what I’m doing wrong or if they are faulty
I had blackshark v2 x, theres a problem with the build quality, its a thin metal with a cable which does make it look good but no ANC and the cable broke really quickly after 6 months
He explained in the end that if you had an old pair of the stingers that he didn't think they were worth the upgrade. But he did say they were an upgrade.
I have them, they are amazing headphones but I prefer my HD 700 for games because their soundstage is massive. The HD 660 S sound more intimate and have that "three-blob" left/right/center effect rather than fully surrounding you. The HD 560 S are also amazing for games
@@pk.002 i tried so many different types of headphones, some more expensive, some less expensive, but the HD 660s remains my daily driver, i know it doesnt have the widest soundstage but it doesn't mean thats bad, the sound imaging is incredible, in tarkov i can find players 50m away just by sound alone, also not to mention that the right dac can add to said soundstage.
@@Destinylover14 Oh of course not, I know the HD 660S have a smaller soundstage and the imaging is definitely there like you said. Smaller soundstage is not a bad thing at all. Coupled with a good DAC/AMP combo, you're basically set for games. When I tried the HD 700, I was really impressed with the wider soundstage and imaging but it has a treble peak that's pretty bad unless you mod or EQ them. The 660S uses the same drivers as the HD 700, but they've been retuned. I honestly think the 660S overall are a better daily driver and more versatile headphone.
