    There are no vocals because I made the whole track from scratch.
    I programmed the drums and recorded the bass and 1st guitar so that I could play along to it like a backing track. :)

      Hi there. It's just 3 fret / minor 3rd hammer ons. :)
      Play 7 on the 4th string, hammer on to 10.
      Then play 8 on the 3rd string and hammer on to 11.
      Then start the whole process again only a fret higher:
      Play 8 on the 4th string and hammer on to 11.
      Then play 9 on the 3rd string and hammer on to 12.
      Keep repeating this going up one fret each time.
      That's all there is to it.
      I hope this helped. :)
      (Btw it's bit awkward because the riff is in quarter notes and the drums are playing triplets, so they don't quite match up. )

    Hey man, awesome cover! Authentic sounds!! Btw, I recently got a Line 6 Toneport gearbox. I'm not too sure if this question has been asked and/or answered. But would you mind telling me what the effects you used to create this cover? I got an uber metal pedal, the effects are pretty simple for that. Lmao. Anyway, if ya could let me know, I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks.

    @WokeUpScreaming It may be better to tune your strings C#, F#, B, E, G#, C#.
    As this will be the standard tuning equivelant of Drop B. So just tune the low C# down a full tone when you're playing in Drop B.
    Also, your intonation will need adjusting once you have put your guitar into this tuning.

    Just checked it out and his technique is spot on, can't fault his playing at all, however, you can hear that alot of the notes that he's playing don't sound right so he's probably worked it out wrong.
    I'm always getting requests to do Pray For Plagues. Might do it someday soon, see if I can work it out. :)
    Cheers! :)

  • @WokeUpScreaming
    @WokeUpScreaming  13 років тому

    @JimiGuy7 Cheers! I have actually. I have a Marshall AVT 150 half stack re issue. And it sounds absolutely massive through a nice 4x12 in all honesty! You will have to tweak the eq on both the pedal AND the amp before you hit that sweet spot, and it might sacrifice your clean tone a little, but it will sound mega! You might have to take a little bass out of the pedal as some speakers will overload with the fat low end of this pedal, but other than that it should be awesome! :)

    @cammyfootball1995 Thanks mate! My wall is pretty awesome ey? :)
    Well first of all you will need to buy yourself some heavy guage strings. I would suggest a 12 guage set of strings, or maybe an 11 if you have a longer scale length.
    You will need a chromatic tuner and tune your strings (from low to high) B, F#, B, E, G#, C#.
    If your ibanez has a floyd rose tremelo you will need to balance it again when you have set up the strings.
    I hope this helps :)

  • @WokeUpScreaming
    @WokeUpScreaming  12 років тому

    You mean on guitar? Like at 1:24?
    If that's what you mean it's a pinched harmonic.
    It's easiest on the two lowest strings, pick a note and as soon as your plectrum leaves the string, catch the edge of your thumb on the string quickly.
    Hope this helps! :)

    @WokeUpScreaming haha yeah and I'm more good at learning tabs than watching someone play unless I would be looking over his/her shoulders lol. I totally agree with SynysterTaco, the best cover ive seen of that song and I could even bet my left ball you were the real BMTH guitarist if I didnt saw images of the actual one haha

  • @WokeUpScreaming
    @WokeUpScreaming  12 років тому

    @Hippiemanism My what?! I'm guessing you mean pinkie. ;)
    Well from playing lots of BMTH, they use a lot of trills between a minor interval. So fast hammer on and pull offs between say 5 and 8 of the F# string.
    I just felt more comfortable using my lil pinkie and eventually got pretty good with it! :) Just use don't leave your pinkie out and eventually you'll get better with it. :)

    @locust50 I'm really sorry mate I haven't owned the pedal for a while now so i can't remember. I think the distortion setting was the 2nd or 3rd, i think it was insane or pulverise or something. And don't do the natural thing and scoop all the mids, boost ever so slightly and play around with the mid frequency etc. Sorry i can't be more help. :(

  • @ethanadoped
    @ethanadoped 11 років тому

    What gear are you using?

  • @WokeUpScreaming
    @WokeUpScreaming  13 років тому

    @KTM5001 For playing alone in your room give it a hell of a lot of bass, a moderate amount of treble, and scoop the mids by putting the mid at a very low level. And give it lots of gain! :D
    If playing with a band i would suggest rolling the bass off a little and boosting the mids. :)

  • @115BMTH
    @115BMTH 12 років тому

    Very impressive!

  • @WokeUpScreaming
    @WokeUpScreaming  13 років тому

    @KittehFeeds If you mean the 'squeal' sound, it's called a pinched harmonic. Pic a note as normal but hit the edge of your picking thumb off the string when you pick the string with your plectrum. Watch my picking hand closely and you'll see. :) It takes a lot of practice though :( I reccomend playing a note on one of the lower pitched strings on te 5th or 3rd fret, and use lots of vibrato. :)
    Ash x
