EDIT: by which I mean, if I have a mon I've used from the start of my journey or something with EVs all over the place. I can definitely calculate wiping out a maxed stat. :)
This may be late but on the stat page of a pokemon you can hit "L" and the graph will show you where the EVs are spread out. To answer your berry question. You do not need more than 11 berries to wipe a stat completely. Lets say you have a max stat of 252, 1 berry will wipe it down to 100 and every subsequent will knock off an additional 10 Evs. Thats to my understanding how it works at least.

I think I'm coming up with a bug... I am trying to figure out as to why I'm only receiving sparkles for HP on the 6 pokemon I'm working on. The one thing I can possibly think of is that I possibly killed like 30-40 pokemon while grinding for my ATK EV for 4 of my pokemon, all done separately. Does killing TOO MANY pokemon with the brace on not allow you to max out another stat?! I'm only getting those sparking stars for my HP stat and nothing else. I've even used all of the berries I've needed to lower every other stat to their lowest, started over and I'm still having the same issue!
There really needs to be a less obtuse if not more efficient method of doing this in game. Having to do something specific in order to train your pokemon on top of just leveling them up (which anyone of any skill level or experience with the mechanics can do) makes sense, but the level of faffing about a player would logically be expected to do to figure out what EVs are, how they are raised, how they are lowered, why they are important and which targets increase which EVs is completely absurd. The dumbest part about it is that it actively _punishes_ players who casually play the game not knowing what it is, which is typically young kids who don't know about all this stuff and the target audience of the game, by assigning their EVs pretty much at random as they're exploring the overworld. So ideally what we want is a system that rewards player knowledge and experimentation, but is fairly painless to deal with in the case of ignorance. That is the impression I get for what kind of a system this is intended to be. The most conspicuous problem with EVs is as stated above; you cannot control them in normal gameplay so this already convoluted process becomes even more complicated where the player has to undo the EVs they've already assigned by accident. The simplest solution would be to just let players assign them manually; each time a pokemon defeats an enemy pokemon, they gain neutral EV points that the player can distribute freely at their convenience (or perhaps give a small buff to all stats evenly) similar to how pokemon can now "remember" any move they are high enough level to learn from their innate pool of moves. Immediately all of the timewasting and stress of EV training is obliterated, and most importantly the trainer is actually able to take the development of their pokemon into their own hands. You know -- like they're _training_ the pokemon, or something. . . . But that feels a bit too simple the other way, so perhaps instead the control you have over EVs should be tied to your progression: each pokemon gym, barring the first one, could be tied to a particular stat and each time you want to assign those EV points, you have to take that pokemon to the gym and do a little minigame to assign EV points to whichever stat the gym pertains to. So for the majority of the playthrough you're just racking up those EV points without having to worry about getting your pokemon "treated" later by stuffing their face with EV-resetting berries and can just enjoy the game. (It ought to be possible to train all six party pokemon at the same time as well.) The final gym allows you to reset EVs or rather convert them into neutral EV points that buff all stats evenly as before. For extra flavor, this is also a chance to interact with the gym leader and their subordinate trainers a bit more as you'll be coming and going to the gyms a lot more. These minigames shouldn't be too grindy because the whole point of this is to cut down on boring grind and because they won't be nearly as time-consuming as before, you'll have more time available to train a larger number of pokemon overall. So in practice players will still devote about as much time to the game but will get more properly-train pokemon out of it.
I saved up for 6 power bracers and KOd 28 shinx still don’t see any stat changes. Are there requirements to EV training? Do you have to be at a certain point in the game?
The stat change is more of gradual thing that happens as youre leveling up the pokemon rather than an all at once thing or an increase as you go. Hope this makes sense
Go to your stat page and hit L, you’ll be able to see your ev spread, a stat is maxed out in evs when it sparkles also if ya wanna see the difference of max evs vs no ev investment I would suggest going to Pokémon showdown and going to the team builder
It should be noted that Power Items award the EVs stated, regardless of the Mon fought, plus the battled Mon's EVs. For example: If you KO a Chansey wearing the Power Anklet, you will receive 8 EVs in Speed from the Anklet and 2 EVs in HP from the Chansey.

it wont have any affect to my lucarios he's on level 87 and it says wont have any affect should we give vitamins when they are on low levels ? my defesnse stat is really weak
Okay so, yes it is better to this at low levels because right now your lucario is already at the EV cap. If you want to change it now you can give it specific berries that lower the EVs of a pokemon. To my understanding of them it takes 11 berries to completely reduce an EV to 0. Less if the EV isnt maxxed out. Check your bag for the berries it will say in the description of what the berry lowers. After lowering the EV of your choice, you should be able to give Lucario vitamins again for defense. Just keep in mind that EVs cap out at a Total of 512 and the highest an individual EV, like Attack, can get is 252.
EV training in Pokemon has always been a *time consuming/annoying* aspect that I never liked. I really wish they would *modernize* the process and make it easier, particularly through *AFK/Passive EV training* like in *Digimon Cyber Sleuth* where you can let your Digimon train in the "Digi Farm" *passively* while you do other stuff in the meantime.
with the power items it takes like 15 minutes in total to max your evs a passive version would be days or step based which is significantly longer. You could also use vitamins but those are pricey (the new 7 star raids give out 5 vitamins per charizard so that's nice)
i dont understand the part with chansey, chansey gives you 10 evs with the bracelet, you need to defeat 26 to gain max stat not 11 or am i missing something?
You can clear up space for stats you actually care about. For example if you have a pokemon that's all in on physical attacking moves, you really care about your attack stat, but your special attack stat does literally nothing. So if you have like 50 random EVs in special attack, those are WORTHLESS and it's making your pokemon weaker because you have a limited supply of EVs available. By removing those 50 points, you can put them into your attack stat so your pokemon hits like a freight train. It also helps to just know what points you have and where. Resetting everything to zero, or almost everything, makes it far easier to know for sure you've maxed out the stats you want.
I'm not certain but that's probably from vitamins still being under the 100 limit. So you can only use vitamins to give your Pokemon 100 EVs, so it's not a one stop shop, it's just a head start. You can start at 100 instead of 0. I thought maybe this wasn't the case in THIS generation, but if you tried it and it only took 10 vitamins and you do NOT have the sparkles on the graph, then it probably means 10 vitamins per stat is the limit still after all.
So let me get this right I can use Vitimins to boost evs and Pokémon can have a total of 26 vitimins for 2 stats and 4 left for a third stat And after doing that should I just level the Pokémon up with power items ? What if I max the items like hp, special attack and special defence but have the power defence item for normal defence does that mean the power item won’t work ?
Don't waste your money on buying 26 vitamins, do 25 instead. Then dump 2 feathers in that stat to max it out. You'll save a lot of money doing it that way instead.
Nature gives you + stats in one and - in the other you should look up what each nature does. Typically you can't go wrong just maxing out the 2 best stats with evs and putting the leftover in hp. I'm sure there are guides that tell you what best ev spreads are though
...I don't get it. Why does it take 11 Chansey's to reach 252 HP EV? If each one is 10 HP EV, then wouldn't 11 Chanseys give 110 HP EV? Was that a mistake in the video, or am I going crazy? 😢
Depends how much time you have to play it. Ev training by battling 5 pkmn at the same time probably takes less time than gathering the items to sell and make the million and something pkdollars
IVs cannot be lowered, however they CAN be maxed out, which is really the only thing you want them to be for competitive. You need a bottlecap (gold bottlecaps are rarer and just act like 6 normal ones) and one regular bottlecap will max out 1 stat. You can buy these at delibird presents, or win them in raids. Anyway, travel to Montenevera (ghost gym town in the snowy area) and close to the pokemon center by some trees you'll see a dude standing next to an Abomasnow. Talk to him, and he'll offer to hyper train Pokemon if they're at least level 50. Then you just pick the stats you want trained, and that'll max out the IV stats of that Pokemon. To clear away the Pokemon's EVs, berries. Just get the stat lowering berries, there's tutorials around to find them. Otherwise any NEW Pokemon, so Pokemon you catch in the wild or hatch, will ALWAYS have 0 EVs. Just remember if that pokemon gets EXP in battle (experience candies and rare candies are fine) even if it wasn't fighting it will gain the EVs from the defeated pokemon.
At 8:08 you said you only need to defeat 11 Chanseys to max out the EVs at 252. Is my math that bad or am I missing something? 10 EVs per defeat so you'd need 25 to get to 250 EVs, no?

So to power up speed and attack for 1 pokemon I would need 26 carbos and 26 protein?
I don't know if it was changed in the newer games, but I remember in the older games you could only use 10 vitamins in any stat
@ 5:15 does battling with one Pokémon only increase all their Ev’s or only the Pokémon you battle with?
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how do I know if I've used up all my points? Like, if I'm using berries to reduce and then training up in a different stat, how do I tell how many berries to use? EDIT: by which I mean, if I have a mon I've used from the start of my journey or something with EVs all over the place. I can definitely calculate wiping out a maxed stat. :)
This may be late but on the stat page of a pokemon you can hit "L" and the graph will show you where the EVs are spread out. To answer your berry question. You do not need more than 11 berries to wipe a stat completely. Lets say you have a max stat of 252, 1 berry will wipe it down to 100 and every subsequent will knock off an additional 10 Evs. Thats to my understanding how it works at least.
@@blanqck-_- so here's my question...
Lets say I train Gyarados. ATK AND SPD.
I'm at lvl 65 with super messy EV's I just caught it.
Should I just EV reducing berries to remove the uneccesary EV's now? and THEN start the power items to start training ATK and SPD?
Or can you do it vice versa?
I hate the Ev training in this game its so confusing and tedious. I don't wanna go the vitamin route too expensive although I hear there are ways to exploit money. I just wish they brought back poke island or poke jobs.
@@nwing07__ yeah just use them now that way you wont have to worry about it later. @@brettmcmurrer962 I have the same question, hope you find your answer mate!
@@brettmcmurrer962 you’ll gain access to the IV checking module in “Boxes” once you complete the main story of the game. IVs can be maxed with bottlecaps later. EVs can also be manipulated with certain berries for reduction if you want to max individual EVs later. You don’t really have to worry too much about getting it right early game.

Big thank you for this video I used to fight through tournament trainers to get money which took a long time since I’m not able to play often
Also oricorio give 2 sp.atk and there by 2nd gym. Just incase someone wants to ev train early with low level pokemon
Oricorio is harder to find than Psyduck
(It ought to be possible to train all six party pokemon at the same time as well.)
The final gym allows you to reset EVs or rather convert them into neutral EV points that buff all stats evenly as before.
Do you actually have to battle or can you just do the roaming battle thing?
You must battle. Let's Go mode does not give you EVs, ONLY experience and drops. Unfortunately.

It should be noted that Power Items award the EVs stated, regardless of the Mon fought, plus the battled Mon's EVs.
For example:
If you KO a Chansey wearing the Power Anklet, you will receive 8 EVs in Speed from the Anklet and 2 EVs in HP from the Chansey.

it gave me a ribbon but my stats wont sparkle and i cant use a feather on it
it wont have any affect to my lucarios he's on level 87 and it says wont have any affect should we give vitamins when they are on low levels ? my defesnse stat is really weak
Just keep in mind that EVs cap out at a Total of 512 and the highest an individual EV, like Attack, can get is 252.

can a level 100 pokemon (in scarlet/violet) still receive EV points from wild battles?
It can but you'll probably need to reset its EV's first.
They actually had that in sw/sh but removed it in this game iirc
with the power items it takes like 15 minutes in total to max your evs a passive version would be days or step based which is significantly longer. You could also use vitamins but those are pricey (the new 7 star raids give out 5 vitamins per charizard so that's nice)
@@rootbeerron Dude obviously never did it in like Pokemon Diamond/Pearl where I had to fight 255 Wooper before post-game. :) That was fun.

how many pokemon would i have to KO to get 252 in a stat if they give 1EV? no items or anything just straight battling
252 Pokémon
U answered your own question there.
what is the benifit from getting rid of ev's?
Could you add time stamps at some point?
You said 11 Pokémon for 252 EV’s when it’s 10 EV per kill……. 11 x 10 is 110………???? Or am I missing something……???
So, If got 10 ev by Pokemon defeated. How many Pokemon should I beat to max out the stat I want please ?
26 max is 252 10x26 is 260 but it stops at 252 if you just do 25 you’ll miss the 2 needed for max
@@goznercrew3991 Thanks a lot I just saw your answer.
Thanks for this video
Can someone help me my attack ev isn’t maxed out but stopped going up, for example when I try to give it proteins it just says it has no effect
Train the other ev stat you want then go back to attack. Remember you have 510 it wont go above 510 if you have your ev spread already.
Can you ev train at level 100?
Super awesome video
So let me get this right I can use Vitimins to boost evs and Pokémon can have a total of 26 vitimins for 2 stats and 4 left for a third stat
And after doing that should I just level the Pokémon up with power items ? What if I max the items like hp, special attack and special defence but have the power defence item for normal defence does that mean the power item won’t work ?
There is also feathers at the casseroya lake
Will using auto battle still get me evs?
No
Don't waste your money on buying 26 vitamins, do 25 instead. Then dump 2 feathers in that stat to max it out. You'll save a lot of money doing it that way instead.
How do natures work and, how do I know which EV to train per Pokémon?
Nature gives you + stats in one and - in the other you should look up what each nature does. Typically you can't go wrong just maxing out the 2 best stats with evs and putting the leftover in hp. I'm sure there are guides that tell you what best ev spreads are though
@@thtguyericcc1811 Thanks man, much appreciated
Can you do this with Pokémon at lvl 100?
Yes. So long as the Pokemon's EVs aren't maxed out, ANY Pokemon can gain EVs by battle.
Why dont the items work for me? It always says doesn’t work with that Pokémon.
You have to give it to the pokemon you want to hold, not "use" on pokemon
...I don't get it. Why does it take 11 Chansey's to reach 252 HP EV? If each one is 10 HP EV, then wouldn't 11 Chanseys give 110 HP EV?
Was that a mistake in the video, or am I going crazy? 😢
I thought vitamins only give you enough evs to get to 100. Then you can't give it anymore vitamins and you'll have to train it yourself
i mean its easier to buy protein etc. because you can make a lot of money in this game
Depends how much time you have to play it. Ev training by battling 5 pkmn at the same time probably takes less time than gathering the items to sell and make the million and something pkdollars
8:15
Huh? How is 11 Chansey 252 EVs?
11 C * 10 EV = 110 EV
Does anyone know a place to clean slate a Pokémon’s ev’s/iv’s
berries
I miss poke jobs
At 8:08 you said you only need to defeat 11 Chanseys to max out the EVs at 252. Is my math that bad or am I missing something? 10 EVs per defeat so you'd need 25 to get to 250 EVs, no?
That's... an interesting way to pronounce "Delibird Presents" 🎁
