I'm not blowing my trumpet but I'm proud to say I splashed the shit out of it ! Lol 957 bricks in one hour, so yea I'm happy 👍😉

The man has gold hands, and his free hand is even more impressive than the one holding the trowel. As for his support team, that's 51% of the game, if not more. Better than first class. I'm sorry to see the competition seems to have been abandoned. As to Mr. Boll's religious steak, it's sad but irrelevant. If it makes him happy, great.

If you can put a wall up that fast, it would be worth having the muck on the floor. Takes about 2 minutes to take a shovel and clean up the mortar that dropped on the floor.

Many of the English bricklayers like to waste time tapping. Tap Tap Tap, that's 3 seconds you wasted. They key is to spread the right amount of mud at the proper consistency where you can press the brick down by hand and squeeze out just enough to butter the head joint. That tap tap tap and the 3 seconds you wasted add up to minutes and minutes add up into hours. Always gotta show you limeys how do to things.

I worked with 2 mexican masons that would lay over 1000 per hour day after day. We would laugh at the competitions you see on tv and it was all quality clean work i see people going back and pressure washing when they finish and we never had to not one time.
I appreciate this is a comp for speed etc but its pointless. its rough as hell. And how much compo is lost laying the bed etc. its like an artist chucking a bucket of paint on a canvass. quick but shit
FruitVideos it's a competition so it's all about speed. plus on every bricklaying job you have to go back over and tool all the joints to make em look nice then brush to give a nice texture

Laying bricks fast gets a little messy, because you have to mix the mud thin so you can press the brick down with your hand, instead of all that tap tap tap, that wastes time. The mess can be cleaned up in 5 minutes with a flat shovel. The guy that taught me to lay bricks in the US would brick a 1500 square foot home in 2 days by himself. He was the one that taught me to have no wasted motion by doing all that tapping that so many bricklayers do. They mix their mud too dry and they have to bang on it for 5 minutes, which wastes time and wears your arm out over a days time.
Just watched the Block laying championship...Now this brick one...One thing for sure; These are the most boring sporting events in the world...They make Curling look like the NFC championships!

I agree. Very Very Sloppy. Good way to get fired throwing shovels full of mortar on the ground like that. I have been a mason for 30 years. He is not good. Just rushing and doing shabby work. I'm just as fast, Do good work, and my head joints are full, His are not. This is horrible. Take it down before you embarrass yourself to a potential employer.

mortar on end of brick also called cross joint. Mortar on head end of brick.Bed joint is mortar below brick or block.
