the physical card takes 7 days to dispatch (to make the card) i ordered the card 7 days before travel received it only after i left the country. DONT bielieve that you will get it in 5 days, its is mentioned in the app that it takes 7-14 days.
Markup fee is only charged if you do cross currency payments or else no fee is charged. For example if your base currency is yen loaded in the card and you try to use usd which is not loaded then 3.5 to 5% is levied or else no fee , even at pos transactions no fee. The only fee is when you use the atms.
"Base currency yen loaded" means ? Are you saying that if we try to pay to someone in Japan? Then i should chose jaoanese yuan? Instaed of usd or anyother currency to avoid narkup fee? Basically "pay in recievers domestic currency"?
@@4ravSingh these cards come with a base currency. For example you are travelling to japan. So obviously you need yen currency so the default currency is yen loaded by you. Now suppose you have a connecting flight to japan and you get a 1 hour layover at singapore. Then in singapore food court you want to eat something. Then Singapore accepts singapore dollar which is not yen. So 5 SGD (conversion) = 563 yen + markup fee is imposed.

If I open an infinity account by adding ₹50k, I can get the physical visa debit card with zero forex charges right? Suppose I then use that money on an international trip and am not able to maintain the minimum balance of ₹50k then will I get demoted from Infinity right away or will I still be able to use that card for that financial quarter atleast? Also, will there be any other charges levied on account of not being able to maintain the minimum 50k balance?
I used this card in 3 countries this year without any infinity account, and No there's no charge to maintain a minimum balance. You can keep balance lower than 10k without any charge.
Generally, there is a limit of Rs. 3 lakh on your daily shopping through Fi card. Furthermore, the daily cash withdrawal limit through the Fi Federal Bank Debit card is set as Rs. 50,000. This makes the total limit of the card as Rs. 3,50,000. You can make a few changes to these limits according to your budget by adjusting the card limits through the Fi app.

Can't even open the savings account, they say I can try opening again in thirty days because it's blocked verification now. Does not connect to my bank account on number and does not have the student domain also not registered. They have the worst customer support who will not connect until you wait for ten fifteen minutes. And they are of no help as they don't have any access to modifications they can do on app. How can be a bank so useless that they can't even begin the process of opening an account. Worst service possible.

As someone who has used both BookMyForex card and an international debit card like Fi Federal is offering, I think the BookMyForex card is the better choice. Considering that this is a sponsored video, she would have been expected to say that the debit card is better, but that's not true. She isn’t telling this in the video but with a Forex card, the exchange rate is locked in at the time of card loading. This is really beneficial as currency rates are highly volatile, and hence a Forex card reduces the risk of losses due to currency fluctuations. The debit card will not protect against volatility as currency rates are unclear. The conversion is going to happen at rates prevalent at the time the transaction is executed which can be good, bad, or even worse. Also, such international debit cards often incur high transaction fees, ATM withdrawal fees, currency conversion charges, and huge markups, and even with zero markup claims, up to 1% network premium is applied. Trust me when I say that no debit or credit card can come close to a Forex card's ease of use and cost-effectiveness. Also, there is 20% TCS on debit cards for transactions above Rs 7 lacs in a year. As of now, TCS does not apply only to credit cards (but keep an eye on hidden charges). So, her statement in the video that there's no TCS on debit cards is incorrect. Now coming to the BookMyForex card, a few months ago, I traveled to the USA with this card and had no problems with it.
