Bravo! I thought i was the only person "disappointed massively" by the sound/speaker. I love everything else about it, except that. I have N scale locomotives that sound better (clearer, louder and with more depth and clarity). This is my first ESU sound locomotive, It's a shame honestly...
I'm debating on switching out to a Scale Sound System speaker. I've heard about an n scale speaker that could possibly be a good replacement candidate that I'm looking into a bit more.
@@jhmodeling If you do, please post a video. I didn't want to open this thing up at all, but like yourself, I'm majorly disappointed in the sound. I thought about one of the soundtraxx sugar cube speakers, but for same reason, just kind of put it out of my head.. The scale sound "cab" speaker sounds much better(from their video), but again, just didn't want to open the little guy up.. I am interested in your findings though..
@@DamonGaskin Will do. The speaker I'm going to test is an ESU LokSound 50321 Speaker 15x11mm 8 Ohms & sound chamber. We'll see how it goes. It's basically the same size as the Scale Sound drop in version, so it might be a change along those lines. I'll post a video when I get it and then change it out.
I agree about the sound...it's pretty anemic. I'm waiting for my Scale Sound Systems replacement speaker to arrive -- ordered the new version that replaces the entire cab interior, but expect to have to change some of the sound files too.
1952 had the pilot. The fuel skirts were removed on 1951
I need to look to see how or if the skirts can be removed as I want the look of it near retirement
@@jhmodeling same here. I've seen undecorated ones with them removed

I changed the horn CV to a Nathan M3
I changed the horn on mine to the M3 as well after I finished up the video. Going to play around with the sound settings later on.
