You’re right…. Perfection. This was my dad’s favorite hymn. Dad passed last June. In the days leading up to his passing, I played this video at his bedside repeatedly. Each time, although he’d been unresponsive for days, he calmed and settled to it. I even have a lyric of the hymn tattooed on my shoulder. ❤️
Beautiful. We share a similar story. My Pops passed in late 2016 and this was his favorite song. Luckily, I discovered Home Free and this song before he passed and played it for him. Tears streamed down his cheeks as he listened quietly.
Every time I hear it now, I drift back to that moment at the table with him.
I'm sorry to hear of your guys loss. I'm not religious in any way but this song touches something within me that just makes me tear up and love it. And the setting of this video is awesome as well.

I think this is one of the best versions of this song. Tim's bass really carries the song. I just found Home Free last year & love these 5 talented guys. And the scenery is awesome filmed in the beautiful Austrian Alps (my dad comes from that area).
This is my favorite Home Free song... it was filmed in the Austrian Alps a few years ago.
From left to right - Adam Chance, known as Chance (to avoid confusion with the group's beatboxer) is a baritone/bass, Austin Brown is the group's high tenor, Tim Foust is the group's primary bass, but has a 5+ octave range, Rob Lundquist is commonly called the group's lead tenor, and Adam Rupp is the beatboxer extraordinaire, and he sings, too (as he did in this song).

The guys from Home Free have the richest harmonies I've ever heard in a band, every note absolutely clear and clean. When Tim starts with his fantastic bass then I always get goosebumps feeling - WOW. This song is one of my favorites. This is also one of the few videos where Adam sings :-), but his real strength is vocal percussion. Especially the harmonica sound in their newest video "Ain't Goin' Down ('Til The Sun Comes Up)". Great reaction!
This one definitely makes me emotional--and HF does that SO well.
Besides the unbelievable harmonies--and gorgeous backdrop of the Austrian Alps--getting to hear Adam Rupp's sweet tenor actually singing is a real treat ❤️🎼🥰🎶❤️

Isn't this just magnificent?! So gorgeous. This is so beautiful it almost hurts your heart to hear it. These guys sure know their way around a song and kudos to Darren Rust, their producer and I think he arranged this as well. Home Free is just wall to wall talent. This was in the Austrian Alps.

The two things I noticed most was Austin was really feeling the song and Adam singing instead of beatboxing which is rare.

Really so beautifully sung in a beautiful setting. Every morning and evening I listen to this song. It's one of my mom's(84) favorite songs, so I showed it to her a few months ago. Now she regularly asks if I want to show the youtube video and you notice that it touches her. She recommended it herself in her church community

Thank you SO MUCH for answering my request so quickly (from yesterday)! (to answer your questions) This was done in the Austrian Alps when they were on tour (before the "pandemic"). They saw this gorgeous place & had their crew fly in to do this! No, the two you mentioned are not brothers, but 2 brothers co-founded Home Free in 2000, the beat boxer, Adam Rupp (the one who sang "It Is Well With My Soul" & his brother, Chris Rupp, who left the group for a solo career & other endeavors in 2016 (he has his own great channel). Chris is NOT in this video, but anything recorded BEFORE 2016 will have Chris & he usually wears a hat or cap since he was balding. In this video, from Left to Right:
Adam Chance (called "Chance" to avoid confusion of 2 Adams) - baritone with a 4 octave range from tenor to bass. He replaced Chris Rupp. He was the bass singer in his previous group, Street Corner Symphony. He's from SE (Mobile) Alabama & is in all the videos AFTER 2016.
Austin Brown - high tenor. He's from South (Tifton), GA & is amazing. There aren't any words to describe his voice! (try "When A Man Loves A Woman")
Tim Foust - basso profundo with a 5+ octave range from high tenor to the depths of "you know where"! He's from SE (Nederland) TX.
Rob Lundquist - tenor (silky smooth but can "growl" with the best of them - see "End of the Road" video. He's from Mankota, Minnesota.
Adam Rupp - beat boxer extraordinaire / vocal percussionist / vocal harmonica & anything else he decides to imitate! He's not from this planet, but he says he's also from Mankota, Minnesota.
In case you didn't know, Home Free fans (known as "Home Fries") are a very loyal group & will follow them wherever they see a reaction to them! We love them because, even though they're THE most talented a cappella group, they're humble, kind, generous & complete "goofballs"! There are no egos. They pick the best lead vocalist for each song. This was filmed in the Dolomite Mountains in northern Italy, with glacial valleys leading to Austria, through the Alps. Stunning countryside, beautiful mediaeval towns, Italian and German both spoken. A wonderful place.
Your reaction mirrors mine.... I was stunned at the harmonies, the solo spotlights, and the scenery. They all go together to make this a very emotional experience. I grew up hearing this song quite often in church (not always sung well...), but never like this. Home Free can do it all and this is one of their very best. I have watched this video and reactions a number of times. That last chord sends chills every single time. Enjoyed your reaction very much.

It's holy. There singing is divine.
There is a live video called "Home Free Kearny". A concert was cancelled due to a thunderstorm and a lot of the audience had gone under a shelter. Rather than disappoint them, the band walked through the rain and standing on a picnic table (without amps, mics, etc.) accompanied by thunder, lightning and flickering lights sang "How Great Thou Art". It speaks not only to their talent and professionalism but to the respect they have for their audience.
One of the very few times you get to hear Adam sing instead of beatbox.
While on tour in Austria, Home Free vocal band filmed a video for their take of “How Great Thou Art.” They took the opportunity to use the local scenery as a backdrop. Thanks to their video production team members and a local drone operator, the group took the famous Christian hymn to another level.

They did this video when they were on tour in Europe. It's in Austria. All of them can sing a good lead in this group, except Adam (the beatboxer) who sang the "It Is Well" part of the song, but he mostly beatboxes and harmonizes and doesn't lead, but is an amazing beatboxer.

Brothers WERE in this, started it in college. The "DUDE" in middle is THE BASSIST, With Baritone, Tenor ability (Phenom !) No brothers now .... all are from Many different places .... Minnesota = (2) .... Texas, Alabama & Georgia for the last three in the band.

It’s beautifully stunning. One of the best versions of that song I’ve ever heard. This was filmed in the Austrian Alps when they were touring there. There are no brothers in the group now but there were prior to 2016 with Chris Rupp (who usually wore a baseball cap/cowboy hat) and Adam Rupp (beatboxer). They founded Home Free back in 2000. Chris left the group in early 2016 to go solo and was replaced by Adam Chance (we call him Chance). He looks a little like Leonardo DiCaprio. The bass is Tim Foust who has a 5 octave range. They are all tremendously talented. Beatboxer is one of the best. They are serious and silly and do covers but also write and sing their own songs. They also have collaborations with lots of country stars. Good reaction Harrison. Go Steelers and Pens! Try Helplessly Hoping, Brothers in Arms, In the Blood, One Man Band. If you watch some of their old videos you will see Adam Rupps, brother Chris Rupp ( Chris wears a cowboy hat) , They look nothing alike, Chris and Adam started Home Free. Chris left before the covid outbreak, to pursue other interests in the music field and was replaced by Baritone Adam Chance who they just call Chance. He is a wonderful singer too and fit right in.
