Very useful video clearly this system is not done i have set it up a few weeks ago on my new sony a1ii and just made a (worse) video on this on my channel but will point to yours how to set it up. Two things you missed : 1) once setup is done it doesn't need the phone anymore its fully camera->internet->cloud for cameras that have ethernet (a1,a1ii,a9iii) also works (checked). 2) you can setup filters on what files are send, using all will be too much for most people (especially on a1/a9 and burst modes). At 10:37 in your video you are on the cloud function setup page and under 'upload conditions' you can select which ones it sends. I for example set it so only locked photo's are send. So my workflow is 'if i feel a image is important' i lock it using a button (c3 in my case) and it will only start sending these locked file.

Very clear and easy to follow. Let's hope Sony adds support for more cameras soon! Thanks, Brian!

Hi, Brian! Good and useful video. I have an A7iv and this information will be very helpful. ALSO, I'd be very interested in learning how you configure your "MY MENU" on your A7Rv. A video on that will be useful. Thanks! Please keep up the great work!

When I saw a wireless tethering, I made the assumption it was for the desktop version being able to tether in a studio situation so you would see your results immediately. I’m assuming, as you said, once you go through this process of setting up, it will get easier because the process seems pretty convoluted. I can’t imagine doing a photo shoot with hundreds of images, taking the time to upload where an SD card will be so much faster. I see that this would be great for somebody who creates content. I just think that the SD cards are a little easier to manage. At least for right now.and I do have a very speedy network. I will definitely give it a try and appreciate the information as always, Brian. Your clear concise instructions will be very helpful through this process. But I don’t think Sony has made it very straightforward.

Followed and setup my A7R V in exactly the same way. Can you do a video of setting up a FTP server on Windows 11 to upload from the camera?

Unfortunately, I’m 100% Apple and don’t have an FTP server set up, so I can’t test it out.

It would be so nice for cameras to automatically sync to lightroom cloud just like my phone syncs all photos to icloud. I guess this is getting closer.

Brian, this was a handy and well-explained video, and for that I am grateful, thank you. Can you configure photos to Lightroom and Video to Google? That would be a perfect setup when travelling extensively, although I'd much prefer this to go to my iCloud for privacy reasons.

Hmmmmm…. That’s a really good question. I don’t have a Google Workspace account anymore, so I can’t test it. But, I don’t see why it wouldn’t have similar options to Lightroom. Great call!

This is cool though it doesn't really solve the original problem of forgetting your SD card since you can't tether live to the Cloud (unless I missed something).

The solution it would’ve solved for my scenario in Norway was that I could have just transferred my RAW files from my camera to Lightroom without having to remove the SD cards, thus I wouldn’t have left them in my cabin. 😃
