Go to Judy Garland's version of Star is Born 1954 and the song The Man That Got Away, or just watch the whole damn movie. They snubbed her and didn't give her the Oscar. So her daughter Liza Minelli in 1972 got one for her for "Cabaret." It was like Judy giving them the big middle finger from the grave.
I've often said if there was ever a Mount Rushmore of the best female singers of the 20th Century, Streisand's face would be the first one they carved into the mountain. And the choice woud be almost unanimous.
