Miss Lizzie, you could post just audio without video, and I would still be here. I would miss seeing your reactions, of course, but I think most, if not all, of us would still come back every time we got the notification.
I think you have made the best visual atmosphere for your videos, Lizzie. You have a very balanced skill for choosing the assorted appearances for the 'look' of each video. Just like when you apply your makeup each day. You have an excellent talent for the production and editing of each video. I'm happy with the lighting that best helps to illuminate you and 'The Stuffed Animal Squad'. Which you introduced at 2:25 of this video.
Barbra Streisand's, The Way We Were, brings back memories of when I was a kid and i am a 61 year old male. There's something about this song that always brings tears to my eyes. Even when i hear Gladys Knights version that came out in 1974 that i used to hear on the radio as a teen a lot too. As far as the background. I hardly notice it as you and those big beautiful eyes have my undivided attention the whole time. I love watching you react to songs, especially sad songs when your heart breaks and your true honesty comes out. Of course I love that big beautiful smile you have with the fun songs too.
Thanks to your mom for this wonderful request Lizzie! I was in high school when Barbara Streisand's song People was released. And I've loved her music ever since. And your lighting is fine. Take care Lizzie!
I highly recommend the movie. One of the only romance films that can still get to me. I think it's because it came out when I was 14 and me an my best friend snuck into see it. And we cried.
I love this song...and that movie was amazing. I fell in love with Robert Redford and like to remember him just the way he looked right then. She is an amazing singer...she is great! Watch Evergreen video and review that too. Very good! And by all means watch this movie!!!

Great selection, Mom! New listener here, but I'll be subscribing for as long as you keep reacting to classic stuff like this. Your music acumen is spot on. Barbra's phrasing, enunciation, emotion, and clarity are second to none. You hear that she feels what she sings. There's one thing you'll never need when listening to a Barbra Streisand song... the written lyrics. And I was equally impressed you pronounced her name correctly... so would Barbra. But Barbra isn't, as one contributor here said, just Rosemary Clooney 60s stuff...the woman is the only artist in history to debut and chart an album at #1 in six consecutive decades. There's great stuff out there from her from the 70s on thru to the 2000s+ also. Check out her duets with Donna Summer "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)" and Celine Dion ("Tell Him"). She actually has three albums alone of nothing but duets with some of the greatest ever. Definitely her duets with Barry Gibb ("Guilty" and "What Kind of Fool") are classics, and the huge hit "Woman In Love" written by Barry Gibb, was #1 in 22 countries and stayed there in this country for three weeks. Many consider Barbra the GOAT...I personally do, especially after seeing her perform live. She's amazing, and a pretty great actress too. I'll be watching this space... glad to have found you Lizzie.😊
Welcome! SO glad to have you join us here 💗 She really does have that off the charts type of talent. I remember watching the video of her and Judy Garland and reading the comments of how she thought Judy hated her but Judy embraced her and let her shine and it was just a beautiful moment they shared together and introduced me to the power and softness her voice had and her overall presence. Looking forward to hearing more of her music!
@Lizzie the Gangster Hippie Enjoy the journey through the decades of her music... every generation should do so because it's rare to find a talent like her's, comes along once in a millenia. She'll bring you to so many emotions. Yes, Judy was quite fond of Barbra, and vice versa... in fact to this day, one of Barbra's closest friends is Judy's daughter, the also very talented Liza Minelli. Again, enjoy... and keep listening to your mother... she has great taste in music. 😉😊 Btw... check out Barbra's "Over The Rainbow" homage to Judy from her "One Voice" concert (4:50) when she also did two duets with Barry Gibb.

You're right about people forgetting about Streisand a bit. Of course, her big time was from long ago, the late 60s to late 70s - and she was one of America's biggest stars during that time - but I think it's more for the reason that the songs she's known for are very old-fashioned. Like this one from Marvin Hamlisch, for example. It sounds like it would be more fitting for Rosemary Clooney in a b&w movie rather than a hip, groovy 1972 romance. Hamlisch's music didn't come out of rock n roll or r&b, but from an earlier era. The funky wah-wah guitar the producer put in the song to make it seem "current" is unfortunate, honestly. But eh, it's a good song anyway!
I think your critique is a bit out there. Her albums in the 60's were of standards true, but the majority of her albums from the 1970 Stoney End to the present were current for the time. The Way We Were definitely didn't sound like it belonged in a black and white movie. This definitely would have been the norm for a ballad in the early 70's. Do you think Evergreen sounds like it belongs in a black and white movie too?
@@anthonyb1752 First, my comment was more about her songwriters than her. In the case of "Evergreen", she actually composed that music, and to answer your last question, yes! - for the most part. What puts it in the mid-70s is the light tap of the drumstick on the snare; everything else about the song comes from a pre-1950 tradition, including most of Paul Williams' lyrics, but then, Williams was particularly adept at straddling pre- and post-rock eras. I'll defer to you on the funkiness of her 70s records, though I must say she's not known for her rhythm and blues music. In any event, I still say Streisand is more Judy Garland than Diana Ross, I stand by that statement, and I bet most would agree.

Gladys Knight and The Pips version is great aswell.
You should watch the movie "The way we were".
I still want to meet her...
Now start doing the no. 1 Karen Carpenter!!!
You are so beautiful 😍. Your eyes 👀 just kill me. No more tattoos lover. Your canvas is absolutely beautiful. Some business. React to Lonnie Listen Smith’s STARLIGHT AND YOU. Just for me. Thank you honey.

We don't care about the light settings, we care about you.
YOU are easier on the eyes
Supposed to b one of the best singers, a little too high for me.
For someone so young, your reviews are so in depth.
