Just got mine in the mail today. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxhcEDB3r-OJ3_X5hQzr7k1ZofTQy1ao_U The corners of the box was a little smashed but I think that’s more of the shipping’s fault. iPad was in perfect condition though. I ordered the yellow one thinking it was going to be a bright vibrant color. Instead I looks like more of a Gold color. I personally prefer the gold look. Definitely not disappointed but just a heads up to the ones expecting a brighter cream of yellow.
I really wanna see a custom iPad mini, I haven’t seen anyone do it before 😆

@Hugh Please use Tesa/Red tape or even T8000. I've said this countless times - it will improve the quality of your repairs greatly and stop them from becoming unstuck in the future. I use to use that 3M tape you're using and that stuff is awful. The adhesive which is on the digitizer too is also awful - you want to try and buy them with the Tesa tape pre-installed. I hope you see this. Anyway, great video, keep up the good work.

Today I opened up my sisters laptop to replace the hdd with an ssd and discovered that it's missing an entire SODIMM ram stick and a lot of screws. My sister evidently took it to a local repair shop to fix the screen but the guy obviously did a lot more than that and she has been using it for over 4 months complaining its slow(she's not a tech geek). So guys please please please do not take your devices to unauthorized repair shops. Thanks for pointing this out Hugh.

When we tried to reset it, it wouldn't turn on, vibrate, or making any charging noises. the glass is fine and the screen was replaced 3 months ago. I had 2 of those
One is silver has a broken lcd
One is space gray which shows no signs of life even after being left on the charger
And also I have a mini 1 dead but boots with an AirPods Charger but the very bottom part of the screen responds to touchscreen also I can still press cancel when I try to power it off

I think you should open a device repairing shop and make videos with those devices that people give you to repair so you make more money than usually

Hi, on all sorts of early ipads and minis, can you change colour say from black to white or other way around and ipad will recognise and work. I notice in 3U tools that its says colour of ipad at top of summary so thought i would ask as need to do some screen repairs. thanks

I used to have an iPad mini 2 but I left it in the car on a hot day which resulted in a bent iPad rocking on the table. It worked for about 5 months until the screen started to crack easily followed bu no response when taping the screen
I had an iPad Mini 1st generation, I had to get the digitizer replaced once, and after a month, that thing bent.

I have an iphone 5s, and dropped it, and noticed the display started acting weird. I left it for a couple months, went to boot it on, and the apple logo flashed on than went dim, and I couldnt boot up or charge the phone. I'm not a techy person, but where would be the best way to fix it and for the cheapest? I have a repair kit. Should I by a dinner phone?

Where do you buy this strong adhesive??? I my self am doing phone and tablet repairs as a hobby and I ran in this issue soooooo many times (that the stick adhesive isn't strong enough). I once even bought some phone adhesive but it too wasn't very good.
i have a question, since in some videos you say that you got some parts from the us, where do you get these broken iphones and ipads from? i've been looking around everywhere to buy some really damaged devices to practice repairing them without spending a whole lot of money but everything is icloud lock or in good working condition and sellers want all the money for them.

valentino spezzi sorry it wont. They cut off support with all devices with the A7, and Phones with a A8 so the iPad mini 1, 2 and 3 won’t be supported. 😕
I bought 2 ipads a year ago from a pawn shop and they screwed me over. They were unlocked at the time but they restored them while they were boxing them up in the back. By the time i got home and turned them on they were icloud locked and i could not get a refund from the pawnshop for false information. I decided to keep them and ask you @Hugh_Jeffreys what i could possibly do to fix them. Could i just replace the logic boards in them with ones that are not Icloud locked?

Very good video, but fused glass display assemblies usually are much easier to repair than separate display and digitizer iPad models since you do not have to worry about dust between the screen and a Xacto knife with #17 blade works much better at cleaning up old adhesive on the metal rails of iPads. Also, Tesa adhesive tape is the same adhesive that OEM's use to seal their devices and NEVER spray any liquid directly on a liquid crystal display, only on a cloth that you are cleaning it with.
