While I will say that Eloy is one of the best metal drummers I have seen in my 58 yrs, but to broadly suggest that he is the best drummer in the world is a reach. Do some research, lots of REALLY good drummers out there that you may not have heard of...Jojo Mayer, Thomas Lang, Buddy Rich, Ginger Baker, Mike Portnoy, Dennis Chambers, Terry Bozzio, Mario Duplantier, Danny Carey, etc. Yes, Eloy can probably out play most of these guys with Slipknot fills, but drumming is more than just speed metal. On that note, I get to watch Eloy tomorrow night play live, so I may come back and delete this comment. lol
Eloy is becoming the greatest of our generation ! He brings novelties to Metal, he brings aggressiveness, accuracy, perfect tempo, emotion ! Just perfect.

One of the other things I love with this play-through, aside from how heavy handed he is with everything, is how he hits both cymbals with his left hand in the same motion. I know it's due to how his kit is set up but the genius to set it up that way and utilize it is beyond most drummers out there.

You should react to his presentation at Modern Drummer 2005, when he was only 14 years old.... totally different aproach to the way he plays today... which is a fascinating thing to see.... the evolution that he had between 2005 to 2022, how he change the way he plays, mostly due to the fact of him beign Sepultura´s drummer. Other great point is that Eloy give a lot to Sepultura, and bring them back to life, after Igor Cavalera Departure and Dolabella departure... Sepultura is one of my favorite and most influentional band, so, i respect Eloy for his role in this new Sepultura phase. Looking back, Sepultura has great songs and albums, but i came to the point to realiza that now, Sepultura has the best formation in theyr history, and Eloy is a big part of that!
In my opinion Sepultura is THE best heavy metal band in the world right now and Eloy Casagrande is THE #1 drummer. His playing is extremely technical, physical, powerful, explosive and dynamic. Eloy deserve all the respect for keeping and improving the Igor Cavalera legacy. RESPECT!

I noticed he stiffens up when he is listening to the acceleration in the original track, it looks like he is battleing acid in his muscle but his endurance is just insane.
I'm a right handed with a right handed kit but play lefty which requires two hi-hats, I count backwards on bass pedals too, I know, weird. I also played goal in hockey and used my right hand for my catcher and left for stick and blocker which is also playing as a Southpaw and my mouse is on the left side of my computer, I was never comfortable with the mouse on the right side.
I'm surprised no one mentions that he plays bomb blast in the very beginning as opposed to traditional blast on the record. It's a small detail but still
