Beethoven, to me, is an inspiring reminder that we are held prisoners by our senses. He does not need to hear, nor see, nor smell, nor taste, nor touch. He already experiences these joys through the heart. I believe that's why his music lives and not just "sounds." If we focus our attention on our heart, we will hear more, see more, and enjoy life at such a higher, deeper level. Then, we all will be able to write sonatas with our brother Beethoven.

Peter, technique, while an important elemental asset enabling competent "communication" of what one feels, is less vital than one's "feeling," itself. The "fire" you cite is forever captured in Beethoven's score, awaiting anyone who can allow themselves the freedom to go back in time to that stormy night when he suffered the pains of realizing his life would likely be without the love he yearned for. Watching those silvery clouds hide the moon only to have the moon explode each time between, like his heart fighting to never surrender to the dark of hopelessness. Feel that pain and this masterpiece will allow you to release it.

The most amazing thing about Beethoven is that his career should have been over when his hearing started to go because at a the time most of a musician's income came from teaching and live performing, which one needed to hear and react to. It is a myth that composers made money by being privately, divinely inspired in their study.

THis is a VERY good scene. I like how she really tries hard to follow him with a little amusement. Then she lost track and as he speeds up more and more she feels embarrassed. Maybe partly, because she doubted his genius and maybe of her own inability to being EVER able to reach his level. It seems like she tries to avoid the situation and want to escape, because it she is totally outclassed by him... as a "deaf musician, can you imagine that?!"
She rejects him underestimating him -> he responds proving his genius -> she feels reflected like an odious person and blame him for that (bravo...) -> she didn't pass the heart exam for him, goodbye
His mind is unfathomable The emotions , excitement , praise and admiration created by a great composer like Beethoven transcend the conflicts between nations , racial differences and the times
Just try to imagine being there when he first performed this….all your life you’ve just been listening to Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart, and then you hear this.
PS: That is a wonderful arrangement, starting with the "B" section on violin and delaying the "A" section until later on the piano. It gives more prominence to that wonderful, seductive, lyrical B melody. Where did you get that? Is it a common interpretation now? Just wonderful!
What is truly amazing is that he was deaf when he wrote symphony #6. It’s hard to imagine the delicate movements in that peace without being able to hear them. Mozart and Beethoven suffered greatly. Still, they’re music was heavenly. They were a gift to mankind from God.
May god keep making people like Beethoven, a mastermind with absolutely fantastic passion in what he does, Beethoven will live on with his music forever , Beethoven is undeniably the best composer of all time.

I like how they bookend the relationship with her saying "bravo", as that is also what she says in the scene when she first sees him play. The first is uttered in excitement; the last in resentment.
A musically talented angel departed heaven for a brief moment in history and was bestowed to us earthlings as a gift-a priceless musical gift. Such was Ludwig Van Beethoven. Bravo maestro. Bravo indeed.
The most famous movement of this 14th sonata is of course the first, but I can honestly say the 3rd movement is the most metal, hard core musical thing ever composed
Although it's a scene from a movie. However, the third movement of the Moonlight Sonata played by the alive Beethoven truly touches my heart. There is frustration with his love and endless anguish about music. He was a great musician, but at the same time he was a man of endless agony. So his music feels empathy for humans likes me.
I almost never understand classical music and just listen to some pieces sometimes I liked in the anime your lie in april. I have heard this song before but NEVER EVER in my life I felt the music so much that my heart started shaking and there were tears in my eyes and I could sense his emotions. I have never experienced this. WOW!
Those artists lead very sad lives, exploted by their parents, travling all over Europe in the worst conditions, and Beethoven always had trouble getting work because people couldn't pay him! I think he would be blown away today if he knew how much we love his music and what a genius he was!
this piece has more beauty than can be described in human terms. ive yet to see with my eyes something to compare it to. 300 years has passed and has yet to be matched. bravo Beethoven. you fucking absolute Legend!
For very old people of the past who were born during the times of the baroque (1720) this piece must have been an absolute shocker when it came out! xD
Imagine young musicians who've heard only the measured plinking of court music ... and then you hear THIS - tearing through and ravaging mercilessly your soul, tearing through centuries of sound with a storm of diamonds and liberating music to what was barely imaginable before it.
Este video es una pequeñísima parte de la excelente miniserie de la BBC "El genio de Beethoven", a mi juicio la mejor biografía fílmica producida hasta hoy sobre este músico colosal.
This is one of the most astonishing music ever conceived and one of the pinnacles of the human being. It leaves me speechless every time I hear it, no matter how many times I did.

check out the recording by ronald brautigam, it was used in the show
@@peeyansh Thx alot, loved it!

"The lady I told you about is not of my class so marriage is out of the question" my FAVORITE PART
She still plays it ten times better then I even could 😂
That piano needs a cigarette after that
Lol - best comment yet!!!
Pianos tremble, violins quake, and cellos quiver when I enter the room.
reference to the famous movie "1900"?
Or maybe the piano needs one.
Absolute madness
INDEED
THis is a VERY good scene. I like how she really tries hard to follow him with a little amusement. Then she lost track and as he speeds up more and more she feels embarrassed. Maybe partly, because she doubted his genius and maybe of her own inability to being EVER able to reach his level. It seems like she tries to avoid the situation and want to escape, because it she is totally outclassed by him... as a "deaf musician, can you imagine that?!"
It's not that deep lil bro
Wish every pianist played it furiously like this
She rejects him underestimating him -> he responds proving his genius -> she feels reflected like an odious person and blame him for that (bravo...) -> she didn't pass the heart exam for him, goodbye
His mind is unfathomable
The emotions , excitement , praise and admiration created by a great composer like Beethoven transcend the conflicts between nations , racial differences and the times
Beethoven: Rages on the piano.
Girl: Imma head out.
He’s the best pianist in the whole world
"What would my future be..." - a wife of one of the top three greatest classical composers of all time.
And in any case I am far to busy with my Music . The whole world is thankful that he was too busy Beethoven will live forever through this music .
I love this piece and I think he is the best Beethoven who I saw in films :)
oh my gods - i have never heard that played so incredibly and beautifully. and the actor who IS Beethoven only adds to the emotional dynamic. he is perfect and simply gorgeous. i already feel so distraught that he’s going deaf. what an incredibly beautiful soul he had. thank you so very much. . . 🌷🎹🌷
1+ compliment for the actor
Beethoven went down in history because he played the piano with passion and intensity!
Mozart saying this? Lol
@@kr3mico335yeah, mozart was playing with passion and intensity too.
she can imagine those fingers making her faint
my dirty mind: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I like how they bookend the relationship with her saying "bravo", as that is also what she says in the scene when she first sees him play. The first is uttered in excitement; the last in resentment.
The actor is the greatest one who has acted beethoven
This is a good portrayal I really think he played this with much anger and relief
A musically talented angel departed heaven for a brief moment in history and was bestowed to us earthlings as a gift-a priceless musical gift. Such was Ludwig Van Beethoven. Bravo maestro. Bravo indeed.
She really is not of his class.
She b lookin' up!!
WOW!
Have you listened to chopin's ballade no 1 in G minor (zimmerman's preformance) it was in the anime too.
Watch out for spoilers obviously
Those artists lead very sad lives, exploted by their parents, travling all over Europe in the worst conditions, and Beethoven always had trouble getting work because people couldn't pay him! I think he would be blown away today if he knew how much we love his music and what a genius he was!

lol that sounded like when I first tried to learn it
I can almost play that part at full speed now
Hawlucha the Hawk me too :3
Its been a month update us!
i can play almost half the song now
ahhahahah before/after
It’s been another month, how much can u play
this piece has more beauty than can be described in human terms. ive yet to see with my eyes something to compare it to.
300 years has passed and has yet to be matched. bravo Beethoven. you fucking absolute Legend!
For very old people of the past who were born during the times of the baroque (1720) this piece must have been an absolute shocker when it came out! xD
Wow. That nothing woman might have had the ninth symphony dedicated to her and her name would live for as long as civilization exists.
TBF he dedicated this sonata to her.
Imagine young musicians who've heard only the measured plinking of court music ... and then you hear THIS - tearing through and ravaging mercilessly your soul, tearing through centuries of sound with a storm of diamonds and liberating music to what was barely imaginable before it.
now that’s crazy talent, i just couldn’t imagine being able to play music like this,
This is one of the most astonishing music ever conceived and one of the pinnacles of the human being. It leaves me speechless every time I hear it, no matter how many times I did.
Ay dios, Beethoven fácilmente me conmueve, emociona y excita en todos los sentidos.
3:08 That's insanely well Played!
Her: well it’s uhh...
Beethoven: hold my beer 🍺.... actually nevermind, I can hold it *Moonlight Sonata Mvt. 3 blasts*
The Girl: You.
Beethoven: A 5 months old Asian baby.

I like the playing of 2:45 leading to the pauses of 2:52 and 2:55... I feel that's how Beethoven would have played it
1:15 lovely, just lovely. The man, the legend, the myth, BEETHOVEN
Bravo indeed! I get to become immortal through my music but you? Dead, gone and forgotten in mere years. Pffft!!
Actually, not quite, she gets to be the punchline in a movie 250 years later....
Ba'zi bir kasb egalari uchun eshitmay qolish, Kar bo'lish kasbiga unchalik ta'sir qilmasligi mumkin lekin musiqachi uchun bu katta fojea.
Betxoven shunday bo'lsada musiqani sevdi.. shunday holatda ham asarlar yaratdi. Betxovenni kuylariday hayajonli, og'riqli musiqa yo'q, baribir uning kuylari boshqacha...
Oy sonatasi esa, Mening musiqam,
Eng sevimli musiqam..
Qalbim og'riganda ham, quvonganimda ham shu kuyni chalaman.
Menga juda ham yoqadi....
Anyone else imagine themselves playing all these masterpieces and impressing everyone?
Seems like it’s just you then mate.

1:31 the moment she knew what was beethoven capable of doing with his fingers
What? Anything dark? 😂
There was no place for a woman in Beethoven's life, there was only music and everytime he had to choose, he decided for music... and most of the world was and is thanking god that is was like that. He made a couple of the most magnificient gifts to culture and art of all time, many of the greatest pieces of musical artwork are from him. Music for the ages!
Words from the funeral speech for Beethoven: There he stands among the giants, unassailable for all time!
This is my favorite from Beethoven
Beethoven. The GOAT 🐐🥰
Anyone else notice the contrast in how she says “Bravo” here and earlier in the doc? I’ve watched the full documentary 3 times (in a couple years) and watched clips like this several times, but only now noticed.
Love You Beethoven sir .
you become a proffessional pianist when you perform this movement correctly
This movement is quite easy for a pianist
Trust me u need far more than thzt to be a professional pianist
Warai-San I know, but playing it correctly, like Valentina, that's the challenge
@@slimessiful Damn.. Valentina isnt a bad pianist, but we just cant say that she plays it correctly..
@@slimessiful Valentina isnt the pianist to listen to beethov, I dont want to seem haughty or smth, just an advice, i Heard Valentina at Prague in a concert, it's just.. Not the level she should have for an international pianist, I can advice you some one if you want.
She is just incredibly beautiful.
I love this sonata 🌹
Yes.... Even after checking out other sonatas, this sonata is still my no. 1 favorite
I like it when she plays slow. You can hear the notes of the moonlight intro, just backwards :D
I remembered see that first time many years ago and I almost cried. Now I see it again and I almost cried again. I managed to keep myself not to become ridiculous thinking that humanity will not see a man like him again. At least in my days.
1:24 he’s literally clawing at the piano
This version of how its played is the sexiest and most elegant
