As a Night Elf Main this was my first capital city, and I absolutely loved it. So much so that when I had to leave it and arrived in Darkshore, I missed Darnassus and wanted to go back as I didn't like the look of Darkshore.
Same! Teld felt so magical, it completely pulled me in from the moment my warrior spawned in back in 04. Wow was only the second online video game I had ever played at the time, I was completely enraptured.
The way you describe quite literally breathes life into some of these areas and NPCs that most people wouldn't think much about once done with their business. It's making me want to go back and re-discover all of them all over again.
Welcome, fellow traveller! Your kind words mean a great deal to me. Breathing life into these places and characters is my way of reliving those nostalgic moments in WoW, just as it is for you to rediscover them through this way of presenting them. I'm thrilled you're feeling the same sense of adventure, and hope you'll join me for the next tale very soon!
I remember as a fresh night elf hunter saying goodbye to the safety of the Shadowglen and adventuring out to the unknown. I was young and maybe a bit naïve. Following the road, I soon encountered Zenn Foulhoof that promised me greatness if I only return some reagents from some corpses of forest dwellers. Eagerly I went off deep into the woods thinking I did the right thing, yet my heart felt heavy slaying owls, spiders and sabers. Wasn’t these magnificent creatures meant to be in harmony in the world just as I was? Returning the items Zenn laughed at me and revealed that he had tricked me. Continuing my journey I helped guards and locals in Dolanaar, slowly gaining confidence in my abilities and exploring the lands. Visiting Syral Bladeleaf down at Lake Al’ameth aiding his investigation into the Timberlings and trying to heal the world. I eventually even managed to tame my own companion, a nightsaber named Svante. Battling our way through Gnarlpines and Bloodfeathers, exhausted we pushed on. Suddenly we saw some great gates in the distance. Darnassus. As we entered the capital I could feel the hairs on my arms and neck standing up, this felt like home. The music, the landscape, meeting the Ancients walking around in there, I know it’s not nice to stare, but I couldn’t help myself. Hearing these wooden giants creek and boom as they patrolled the city I couldn’t believe my eyes. I had only heard stories about them, but seeing them with my own eyes was something special. I spent a good couple hours visiting the temple of the moon, the different district and saying hi to the Arch druid I never really wanted to leave. Yet the time had grown late so Svante and I eventually made our way to the Darnassian Inn. I couldn’t wait to explore even more the next day.
@@900i16 Hahaha omg yes! I had completely forgotten about Göran! :D I will have to rewatch that now! But I had Svante with me until I stopped playing back in Cata haha

Absolutely, although it might be a while before we get to that point in the timeline of the night elves' story :) I'm currently working my way through the classic era of wow, and will eventually branch out, but there's so much to talk about! Cheers!
I gotta say you’re awesome! Where have you been this whole time? I’m new to your channel and it’s been a joy. I already know a lot about the lore of Warcraft/WoW but it’s still nice to hear a fresh take. You’ve become my new favorite channel. Keep up the great work!
Welcome aboard, fellow explorer! It’s heartwarming to hear your kind words. Stay as long as you’d like, and if there’s a nook or cranny in Azeroth you’d be interested to see explored next, don’t hesitate to let me know!

Back in 2004, remember bringing my "Human Warrior" there for weapon Bow training , it's still amazes me to look at Darkshore, Darnasses on how well of a job Blizzard did back then.. in retail, it's utterly slaughter seeing Ashenvale with cut down trees eck, Horde did nothing wrong, but the lore writers did . Darn was admittedly my least favorite of the OG Alliance cities; I didn’t properly appreciate until after it was gone. Thank you for the wonderful tour!
This is easily one of the best and yet, the worst starting zones. I hated going into the cave to dispatch of that one druid. It is very difficult to find for fresh players and once you are inside, it's very easy to get lost. There are also no mining trainers! I love the ambience and music of the place. I was pretty mad when I saw the news of what had happened to the tree during BFA.
@catburgercs last time I checked you're not qualified to tell me how and when I should spend my money. You don't like it, keep your feelings to yourself and leave.
I do not believe for a second that Teldrassil is ony a couple of years old at the beginning of WoW. The buildings and plants look like they've been there for centuries.
A very fair observation indeed. There are rumors that as Teldrassil grew, it 'lifted' the ruins of an ancient civilization with it. However, in such a short time, it's surprising how established the plant and animal life have become, some even falling victim to the tree's corrupting influence. It seems unlikely that all of this could happen in just a few short years.
All jokes aside, whether I get 2 views or 200,000, I'll keep going. I’m not here for the fame or the money; I just love sharing my perspective on this world and its lore, and connecting with other fans. I’ll keep doing this for years because it’s what I enjoy the most. :)

"Towering Fire Hazard"? - that was cold lol...
It's a tragic chapter in Azeroth's history, no doubt. l'm sure the resulting bonfire made for one cozy evening, though!

Ah yes, the kindling.
Such a new young tree.
A little different style of narration than the usual, but great work nonetheless - as always! Glad you covered Darnassus.
How many Night Elven druids does it take to get a cat out of a tree?
Hmm, that's a good question... but with druids involved, the answer is surely more complicated than I imagine!
Are we including the Night Elf druid that IS the cat in the tree?
Yup you're on the right track. It's three. One to be the cat, one to be the tree, and a third to get the cat out.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
I still Play my night elf ....again in the new add on😂
I think the riddle answer is: a wisp.
Very good! It is, indeed!
Suramar would be better nostalgia imo
A 'young' tree..... me: yikes
Is this ai?
Of course it is
Yep
No this is sparta
And then one day certain elf appeared :(
That day, most of the Night Elves and their entire capital burned to ashes. Definitely a sad moment in the lore :(
Deathwing was not able to destroy Stormwind...but a few catapults and our tree has gone boom...
Darna is sus.
Ooooookkkk, is that before or after the Undead gave darkshore their Halloween Herpes ?
