Chick, have you ever written a song (or lyrics at least)? It's nice to see youre finally comfortable, like youre home on the channel now instead of just trying it on. And lucky that too, your technical knowledge surrounding vocal cord usage is refined and vast... adds a ton of value! Might just enjoy: - Blues Pills - LAUREL "Sun King" - Royal Thunder - Huun-Hur-Tu - FOALS - Emma Ruth Rundle - Rose Windows - London Grammar Everytime I try to list the best songstresses, it ends up several dozens of pages. Theres just something ethereal about female vocals that I cant quite put words to... your voice is beautiful by the way!
Nightwish, Within Temptation, and Epica are somewhat of a holy trinity in symphonic metal-Sharon is amazing bc she’s self-taught, as opposed to many female metal singers who have operatic training (including Amy Lee!). She’s really something special and such a wonderful songwriter as well! I love how her voice has developed over the years and how dedicated the band is to using their music to explore social issues. This is definitely a favorite song of mine and seeing her share the stage with Amy Lee was so special for my inner teenager too! I actually got to see this tour live, though they didn’t duet at the show I went to. But next, Epica!! If you’re a fan of Floor from Nightwish, you’ll love Epica’s singer Simone Simons. She and Floor have similar vocal backgrounds, but both of their voices are so special in different ways. Here’s a performance I really like from a song that really showcases her range: ua-cam.com/video/c8XdrOhEZl0/v-deo.htmlsi=2ovmYrNzbqWrimMF
Great analysis. If you want to hear more from Sharon's head voice, you should react to ''The Promise (Black Symphony Live)''. That's one of my favorites from WT
I can do nothing more than agree. Black Symphony was and still is an incredible performance. Imho the promise is an underrated song and definitely worth an analysis.
Within Temptation lead singer is Sharon den Adel, she is mostly self taught. But she has been at it for a long time, band formed in 1996, this performance was Nov 30, 2022 in Amsterdam. Amy's approach is different , maybe because she is singing the male vocal part. The studio version of this song featured Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach). More Within Temptation: you will probably enjoy "Paradise (What About Us) feat Tarja. Hvae you heard Amy's duet with Lzzy Hale on the Halestorm ballad "Break In"?
Sharon is famous for her songs where she uses her headvoice. Those are the songs that made them great. Her use of voice changed since somewhere around 2011/2. I don't know if this has to do with her getting older or the change in their type of musicmaking, but it just sounds different. When i listen to the Sharon from 2002 it's absolutely magical and incomparable to the Sharon of today. I still very much love her. Next up probably will be Somewhere because of the incredible harmonies.
Great pairing for a duet! One of my favorite performances of Sharon's is 'Forgiven' from the Resist Tour. Very heartfelt performance by Sharon, she starts to cry a couple times. Her voice sounds great too, & you can can hear the emotion in her voice. "Within Temptation - Forgiven (Live - RESIST TOUR 2018)"
Somewhere - Within Temptation ft. Anneke van Giersbergen has the craziest harmonies I ever heard. (ua-cam.com/video/ScjEJRIZGvg/v-deo.htmlsi=zVTAcSokXgFMwCqw&t=30)
Fun fact: In the early WT years Sharon only sang high vocals that sounded kinda weird but very special and beautiful. I know some people hated that, lol. I loved it but I also love the lower voice she adapted over the years.
The video and sound does not appear to be synchronized well. Like at least a second. But that performance is awesome. I saw within temptation once, years ago. It was an fantastic experience.
Within Temptation was formed at the same time as Nightwish, but is the pop version. Singer Sharon den Adel and guitarist/growler Robert Westerholt had just fallen in love and wanted to make music together in 1996. In 2001 they released their first single Ice Queen, which was an instant hit. They quickly established themselves as one of the big bands. In 2011 Robert retired from the stage. He looked after their three children and worked as a producer: Within Temptation and Metropole Orchestra - Ice Queen Live HD.mp4 Similar bands: BEYOND THE BLACK - Is There Anybody Out There ? (Live in Oberhausen) DELAIN - Masters Of Destiny (Official Video) | Napalm Records
A song that rarely gets seen or heard by Sharon Den Adel, In and Out of Love. ua-cam.com/video/TxvpctgU_s8/v-deo.html. Within Temptation - Mother Earth.
You have a great tone to your speaking voice. Although I'm really into female harsh vocals I also find some women have tones that are pleasing and don't need a growl. One that comes to mind is Harriet.
Within Temptation is my all time favourite band :) You will be surprise to know that Sharon (singer of Within Temptation) is mostly known from her angelic head voice and mix voice ;) I hopr to see some more your reactions to within Temptation, especially to their live performances cause, in my opinion, they are much better live :)
Veronna a good video to watch together with Mark is MaYaN 'Rebirth from Despair' something for the both of you in it! And yes this one is Dutch as well... ua-cam.com/video/u5TQqUD74OE/v-deo.html
Duets with floor Jansen and Simone Simons or any duets in Ayreon, don;t forget the duets of floor and marco, or floor and henk port, although this is good the others are better ...there is no way back anymore
Skirt to short en dress too long. A lot of pushing by Sharon and a very soft low tone from Amy. Not the Amy I know from Evanecense. And Within Temptation is a Gotic metal band not symphonic. Didn't like it.
The A/V sync on the performance is nothing short of atrocious, not sure if that is the case on the original video, but otherwise a great tune, good reaction and some good tips.

@@KardavoxAcademy Shannon Del Adel is self learnt singer. Or that's the word on the circles. Her earlier songs had much more bright head voicy tunes.

The duet Somewhere from Whithin Temptation and Anneke van Giersbergen is in my opinion one of the best duets ever.

Amy Lee did not have any kind of operatic training. In Highschool she was in a choir and that's it. She is a classically trained pianist, however.

Yeah early Within Temptation is my favourite too. Sharon's voice is so pure and angelic. It's beautiful.
I agree. Her older voice and songs are non-comparable. Very angelic and ethereal.
People’s voices often deepen quite a bit with age. It’s like how girl’s voices also change during puberty, just not dramatically.

This.
The band's smiles when they sing together makes me heart happy every time.
I love Sharon's voice, possibly her most haunting performance is Forgiven, that song will stay with you forever.
Finally seeing WT live in a week, so excited! Wanted to see them for 20 years but always missed them.
I saw and shot Within Temptation several times and it his always been awesome: High energy and a Sharon who's directing the crowd.
Oh wow you’re so lucky!!!! I’m jealous! 😛
I’ve loved After Forever which for me, was almost 14 years ago. That was my first introduction to our Godess, Floor Jansen.
Fun fact: In the early WT years Sharon only sang high vocals that sounded kinda weird but very special and beautiful. I know some people hated that, lol. I loved it but I also love the lower voice she adapted over the years.

Badly out of sync.
I’d like to see your reaction to Within Temptation doing the promise with Tarja live 🔥
oh yeah within temptation ! next : Epica and you'll have completed the 3 big band of symphonic metal 🤘

Every goth teenager where I grew up were crazy about within temptation, it’s fun that You never heard of them.

Hi Veronna, greetings from UK
I love your singing voice 😉
Thanks 😊
WT concerts are always epic! edit: demonstrating your chest voice - you should try singing "Lithium" by Evanescence!
Que buena reacción, podrías hacer una de within temptation del tema "the promise"
From what I can remember I have only met one woman who consistently spoke in head voice. Coincidentally she was teaching French 😄
My personal recommendation for a female vocalist who does harsh and clean vocals would be IWRESTLEDABEARONCE!
🤘💥
You have a great tone to your speaking voice. Although I'm really into female harsh vocals I also find some women have tones that are pleasing and don't need a growl. One that comes to mind is Harriet.

Ha, you need to share some photos of your goth stage lol. Keen to see vids of you learning to do more harsh vocal work and training.
Sharon actually usually sings in her head voice a LOT more than her chest voice.
Somewhere by within temptation FT anneke van griesberg ❤❤❤
Here's another Within Temptation sing you might like to react on:

Check out "The Truth Beneath The Rose" for a better idea of what Sharon can do

Stage settings and visual effects really add to the performance. Sharon has good vocals but I didn't really care for the singing in this song.
Skirt to short en dress too long. A lot of pushing by Sharon and a very soft low tone from Amy. Not the Amy I know from Evanecense. And Within Temptation is a Gotic metal band not symphonic. Didn't like it.
