There's also a steam treatment (Rezum)where they inject hot steam via the urethra into the enlarged prostate.
The heat kills the cells of the enlarged prostate, the body recycles dead cells and this reduces pressure on the urethra.
From all accounts it's effective and a lot less painful than TURP (burning it out with a laser or reaming it out.).

How effective is these procedure?what are the side effects and how many years do we enjoy the good outcome of these procedure?i mean will we encounter again the symptoms and problems in our prostate?

@@samsalonga4743 apparently it's extremely effective & one spends minimum time in hospital & less risk of H bugs. But better you do your own study of the steam treatment, apparently it's been showing good results between 2 and 3 years after.

@@samsalonga4743 I have read a couple reports that the patient has a lot of pain afterwards. If this is true, I am not sure it is worth it.

This video is over 2 years old so I’m not sure how much of this info is outdated now. I wish UCLA makes a newer video on this subject detailing the newer options and research findings

Excellent Video! Excuse me for the intrusion, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you researched - Benjamaar seduction Enhancer (do a google search)? It is an awesome one of a kind guide for learning the secret to get a massive erection again without the headache. Ive heard some super things about it and my mate after many years got excellent results with it.

PAE, Prostate Arterial Embolization, which is done in a hospital, is a good option, without the risks and side effects of other treatments. Urologists don’t perform this procedure, so they don’t even mention it to you when you visit. It’s done by a radiologist in a hospital.
You’re on your own to determine what’s the best treatment option for you. Do your homework, watch a bunch of videos, and then discuss options with the specialists in each area. I would never do that TURP procedure, which is the one my urologist happens to specialize in, because while it’s effective in making you pee better, you could become incontinent, have retrograde ejaculation, and your sex life won’t be the same. Screw that! Too many negatives.
Another treatment is where they use steam to destroy prostate tissue and open up the urethra. The urologist I talked to said I’d have a 30% improvement. I don’t think 30% is good enough. I would want something that results in a 80-90% improvement, at least. So, I’m leaning towards the PAE, but I have to talk to a specialist in that area first.
For the last six months, I’ve been trying to treat this condition with supplements and a big change in diet, but it doesn’t seem to be helping.
      Good luck.

I am surprised that Holep ie laser surgery was not mentioned for large as well as all other seized prostates. This is by far the best treatment for BPH since it is minimally invasive and removes up to 90 % of the excess tissue.Especially in the case of very large prostates this Holep surgery is a far better option than an open prostatectomy which requires a hospital stay of at least three days and is dangerous whereas Holep requires generally no hospital stay and results in a very fast recovery with a minimal problems

@@hectordiaz7493 yes i had the procedure done in September of 17 with outstanding results.Holep stands for HOLmium Enucleation of the Prostate.Holmi um is the name of the laser in the non visible part of the spectrum.Turp is the old fashioned procedure to remove part of the obstructive tissue Holep removes all of it and is an outpatient procedure with very few if any side effects and zero pain.I urge you to go on UA-cam and punch in holep surgery and you will find a whole lot of relevant information

I imagine male Urologist also get BPH.
So what treatment do they choose as patients?
Can they take what they dish out?

This urology field is kind of a mess. They have treatments involving green light, steam, rotor router, urolift clips and now they have pae. And yet none of them are fully satisfactory, effective and has become the gold standard treatment of a condition that affects almost every single male. Why theurology field has not had a single major breakthrough as the cardiology field as had with stents i don’t understand.

You have pain because you are holding urine and n your bladder and don't know it,. Search for urologist and have him to prescribe tamsulosin this will help you empty your bladder and the pain will be gone, if you don't after awhile you will smell like you need on your self, stop the pain now, because if you don't you made your prostate larger until your only relief is surgery and you will need that every couple of years and worse case walk around with a urine bag stapped to your leg
