They say yeast powder they mean baking powder. It turned out OK but they should say baking powder. Additional comments. I used one package of yeast and it actually made it taste like a apple pie. Don't mix the yeast in and let it rise too much. Just mix it in. Proceed with the other parts of the recipe. I'm glad I did this with the yeast. More pie like.....less cake like. And that's a good thing.

I cooked it strictly following the recipe. My conclusions: too much sugar, too sweet; also, you don't need to soak the apples in lemon, just cut them up right before adding them to the dough, then they won't oxidize, otherwise some types of lemon will give bitterness, as in my case. I would also add a little more flour, the dough is runny and as a result, it took me 70 minutes to cook instead of 40. Overall, not bad, but not the best recipe.
I don’t like overly sweet desserts myself and I find that when I decrease by 25% the finished product is still ok. How much sugar do you think will be ok?
