I go to Avon Schools. They have replaced the older Thomas buses with the newer Propane Visions and a few Propane CE’s. There is still a handful of the All American Bluebirds in the fleet, I ride one of them
I know these busses probably did not have kids in them, but some of the busses didn't even fully stop, didn't even have their door open long enough to hear anything coming, and some weren't stopping between 15 and 25 feet away from the nearest rail it seems. but it is nice to know that these drivers at least look before crossing unlike other places where they just barrel across without stopping, looking, or listening.
Oh wow🙊as a Driver Trainer, this video was very disturbing. All drivers had no regards as to really LOOKING and LISTENING to see if a train was coming or not😡 In the State of Texas, we are required to stop no closer than 15ft and no further than 50ft from the track. Then you are to pull your parking break, put it in neutral, turn off all noise, open driver window, and open the service door. Some only yielded and had the door open before the tracks riding with it open. That’s a big no no! Who trained these drivers😩
This is how I learned in Texas. Its funny though cause the last time I went over railroad tracks was for my cdl test. There's none in my area of the district.
I think this is a thing in the midwest...Ive seen a lot of drivers in Indiana do this. Not sure what theyre trained to do. The buses at my school don't have parking brakes. They just have a park on the gear selector.
I'm a 16 yr veteran driver in Nebr with some Driver Trainer training and I was yelling at this video "STOP" dang! There were a few that did a beautiful job and most didn't give a crap. WOW!
@@ICFE300 A LOT of school buses here in Indiana are nicely spec'd. Do one for Fort Wayne Community Schools. They have a very nice selection of Blue Birds and Thomas Built Buses.
After shutting down all noise the driver would be able to hear for on coming trains and by opening door as well as drivers window it allows them to see more clearly for any moving trains.
Same here, but from my school district, they didn't have the HDX Buses, all they got were, IC CE, BlueBird Vision, BlueBird International(Only 2),TC2000, 2004 BlueBird Vision, & 2004 IC CEs,

I just gotta love the internationals. I like the way they sound.

I agree
I agree. I'd be embarrassed if I were some of these drivers
I think this is just an Indiana thing...Ive spent my whole life in Indiana and seen many bus drivers do this.
Awesome video keep up with a great work and be safe out there 👍😀
I live it too. Very, very diverse. I ride an IC re 300. Love those busses.

Here in Wisconsin, you must wait till u start to cross the tracks to close the service door.

@@nowhere2471that's means the brakes are hydraulic and they have the parking brake by the brake.
Them bus drivers unsafe but at least they looked both ways. The last HDX cracks me up for some reason lol.
So cool to watch. That one bus driver already had the door open. They've been driving for quite a while😀
I think Indiana has some of the nicest selections of buses. Please do a video with Washington townships buses
They for sure do. Lots of nicely spec'd buses in Indiana.

Yes
What road crossing in Avon, IN where the school busses cross?
Is this Avon Indiana?
Kyle yes
Yes
0:21 love that sound
Why all buses stop and open door?
After shutting down all noise the driver would be able to hear for on coming trains and by opening door as well as drivers window it allows them to see more clearly for any moving trains.
Any type of passenger bus must stop at any railroad crossing that isn't controler by a traffic signal.
What year is the IC RE?
The first one (96) is a 2013 and 57 is a 2008. I live in Avon and ride an Avon bus and have risen both of them.
To me they sound like 2011.
Goody goody bus
2:09 I expected better from the HDX.
I wish I had buses like these in my area.
Same
ViralJ we have 2 buses like the 4th and 5th 2004 ic ce
Same here, but from my school district, they didn't have the HDX Buses, all they got were, IC CE, BlueBird Vision, BlueBird International(Only 2),TC2000, 2004 BlueBird Vision, & 2004 IC CEs,
Wow that Bluebird @ 1:35 sounded pretty great plus all of those T444E powered CE units made me go hypo manic especially that one @ 1:58 😜🤪🤣😆
I want to drive one one day
in my town we pull the break so the bus stays in the spot than we open the doors than put the bus back in drive
why does one blue bird has a rear engine.
never saw that blue bird before
That's how it was built they build the All-American Fe and Re
I ride a ic ce 2010 and when u say those ic sound good as heck
1:21 what is that?
Day Care Center mini-school bus.
Coming back to this vid now and just realizing all of the buses have a undercarriage
NICE JOB AT 1M VIEWS ICFE300!
They built a bridge over the train tracks now I'm guessing for traffic reasons
i hated FS65s they looked like they were a early 90s late 80s bus plus they weren't that bland to my opinion
Every school bus must stop at railroad crossings for safety reasons!
What road were the school buses driving on?
2 Thomas HDX's
5 FS-65's
3 IC REs
1 A3RE
3 Amtran CEs
*IC CE 1st generation
All Of The School Bus Are On The Road!
This is a greatfull bus

10nickw Nice. My favorite fleet in Indiana.
Lol! The bus at (1:46) had its door open before it even stopped. That's safe.
+Joseph Runner verry safe

Didn't even stop. lol.
Where I live buses almost never some to a complete stop even though they're required to. I think opening door is a little overboard
Lucky T444E 7.3L PowerStroke V8 International CE
Indeed my friend those were my favorite buses in the video to be honest
Where i live i don't see the Thomas hdx anymore last time i a saw them was in 2017 now the only buses i see everyday is the thomas c2
