    Is what woooo sound I hear the turbo spooling down? I’ve heard that same sound on a couple of Maxxforce 7 buses I’ve rode.

    Are the engine fans programmed to come on with the exhaust brake on your guys buses?

    • @charlesrodriguez7984
      @charlesrodriguez7984 Рік тому +1

      electric clutches usually come on after or during hard acceleration that makes the engine hot. I rode a 2016 ic CE from a different district near me that had the fan come on after exhaust braking. After accelerating it would turn off though. It’s probably better than a viscous clutch which often run continuously or too long resulting in parasitic power loss.

      @@charlesrodriguez7984the mechanics programmed the engine fans on our buses to come on with the exhaust brake after 10 seconds because the engine fan will create more drag and slow the bus down even quicker and make the exhaust brake more stronger

      @@Pa_school_bus_enthusiaston my districts IC CE buses they have the viscous clutches that turn on when the engine gets hot and off when it is back to normal temperature. Some run 24/7 for some reason.

    You have a garage for all your buses? Lucky. It should keep them from fading so much in the summer.

      The only problem is that is in NW Indiana so these buses will get eaten up by road salt.

      @@BroadwayLTDProductionsyeah it would help if states stopped using road salt. My state uses sand and vehicles last much much longer because of that.

    That engine brake is not very effective when the bus is full, that's why I prefer Thomas's engine brake instead. But at least it has engine brake! Thomas had an engine brake at exactly at that intensity for I think 2019 and 2020 but went back to the stronger engine brake.
