Absolutely amazing video man I love the start up at the beginning will you please see if you can do more exactly like this one only a lot longer because Cummins are my favorite engines. Stay safe man and have a great one.
electric clutches usually come on after or during hard acceleration that makes the engine hot. I rode a 2016 ic CE from a different district near me that had the fan come on after exhaust braking. After accelerating it would turn off though. It’s probably better than a viscous clutch which often run continuously or too long resulting in parasitic power loss.
@@charlesrodriguez7984the mechanics programmed the engine fans on our buses to come on with the exhaust brake after 10 seconds because the engine fan will create more drag and slow the bus down even quicker and make the exhaust brake more stronger
@@Pa_school_bus_enthusiaston my districts IC CE buses they have the viscous clutches that turn on when the engine gets hot and off when it is back to normal temperature. Some run 24/7 for some reason.
That engine brake is not very effective when the bus is full, that's why I prefer Thomas's engine brake instead. But at least it has engine brake! Thomas had an engine brake at exactly at that intensity for I think 2019 and 2020 but went back to the stronger engine brake.

Engine fan turns on at 5:20
I love the reverse beeping in the beginning, perhaps drive the NextGen IC-CE if your district has it!😀
I absolutely love the sound of the turbo on these B6.7 Cummins.

3:28 I found bus 63 long lost brother IC CE also I love the sound of the Cummins engine
0:09 wow the back up sound is good
How many buses fit in that building?
Is what woooo sound I hear the turbo spooling down? I’ve heard that same sound on a couple of Maxxforce 7 buses I’ve rode.
Are the engine fans programmed to come on with the exhaust brake on your guys buses?

Cummins Engine Fans cut in @ 210 degrees and out around 195-199
@@Josb_Bluebird2143same for the viscous models however I noticed some run way too long

Thats cool hey that bus 63 you got do you know where i can buy one of those busses i really wanna get one
Nice drive! Back to bus driving, or part time between other job?
I'm the assistant director at Merrillville for now.
whats the oldest to newest bus years you guys have? , And nice drive back!
Our oldest are 2013 CE's. Newest are 2022 CE's.
You have a garage for all your buses? Lucky. It should keep them from fading so much in the summer.
The only problem is that is in NW Indiana so these buses will get eaten up by road salt.
@@BroadwayLTDProductions a simple solution is to not use road salt. My state uses sand.
@@BroadwayLTDProductionsyeah it would help if states stopped using road salt. My state uses sand and vehicles last much much longer because of that.
