hey everyone! Today's video is a 'which uni is better?' between Durham and Cambridge! If you have any Qs feel free to comment them below! Please like and subscribe if you like this kind of content :) Much love x
Wow, I swear my recommended is listening to me! I’m currently wrestling with whether to go to Durham or Cambridge 😂, so this video comes at the perfect time. Great vid btw xx!!
Thank you for your videos! I was wondering, does Durham offer a partnership program with Cambridge? How did you study at both? Did you do your undergrad at Durham and apply separately for your masters at Cambridge? Thank you in advance for your answers!
Hey, I'm so happy that you enjoy watching them! My applications to Durham and Cambridge were separate - I applied to Durham for my Undergraduate degree, and then I applied to Cambridge for my Master's :)
It's so glad to see you here! I gonna take MA in Intercultural Communication and Education this Sept. in Durham, I'm wondering is there any internship or job opportunities related to Edu provided by Durham? Thx:)
hi! When you become a Durham student, you will receive access to a Durham Careers website, and on there you will be able to search for all of the education internships and jobs that are available, locally and nationally :)
hey! Workload depends on what year of study you are in - if you're an undergraduate you have lots of essays (formatives and summatives), whereas if you're a postgraduate you have bigger essays but less of them (so you can choose how to spend your time, as your studying is unsupervised). If you're an undergrad, Cambridge does typically have a very high workload. For instance, at Durham you may have 1 essay per term for each module (let's say you have to submit an essay for 4 or 5 of your modules, so you may be submitting approx 4-5 essays per term), but comparatively at Cambridge a lot of people have 1 essay per week (so this could work out as submitting around 10 per term) - so it is significantly higher. This will depend on your subject though, with some subjects having less essays etc. As a Cambridge postgraduate, the workload is less than when you're an undergrad but the assignments are longer. At Durham as an undergrad I found my subjects and essays all enjoyable and manageable (even though there is a lot to do). When I spoke to Cam undergrads they do seem to manage their workload, but I can't comment on the enjoyability! Overall, if you love the subject then I am sure that you will be able to manage everything - but it is totally normal to feel overwhelmed etc. Hope this helps!
I think Cambridge is in a completely different league to Durham. Durham has a similar standing to other Russell Group universities like Sheffield, Birmingham etc. Cambridge is up there with Harvard and MIT.
Yes I agree about a different level but I disagree that Durham is the same level as Sheffield and Birmingham. Durham is definitely one of the high Russel group unis
Durham is more like Warwick level (probably just a tiny bit under) but like that’s still top top and u could argue quality of life may be better than at oxbridge but that’s a personal choice

Hi!! Would you mind commenting on the workload? Was Cambridge higher - if so, how much? I'm just really worried about the Oxbridge workload.

Doxbridge
Academically speaking, theyre the same. Durham is a world class uni, sheffield, birmingham and others are very "mid-tier". Totally diff.
