But I recommend that you choose a day when there are no cruises (as I did) 😄
You can see the confusion of tourists on a day without cruises on the video. Now imagine the confusion on a day when several cruises stop there.😁

Beautiful video!! BUT TOO CROWDED for us! If you go back we recommend staying at the Kastro Suites in Fira located right next to the cable car entrance. Beautiful views from the hotel with huge private balconies & pool! But go in November! 😊
yes, in the summer time there is always a lot of crowds, and then on the days when cruises are stopped there being much worse. Thanks for the tip "Kastro Suites" A hug!

Santorini ha sido uno de nuestros descubrimientos más bellos hasta ahora. Es un hermoso recorrido que recomiendo. Pero también te recomiendo que elijas un día en el que no haya cruceros (como lo hice yo)😀.
Puedes ver en el video cómo es la confusión de los turistas en un día sin cruceros. Ahora imagine la confusión en un día cuando varios cruceros se detienen allí.😁

Yes, it is a wonderful place! We love it and we like to go back there but with more time, without running around.. One day alone is not enough to get to know and enjoy the landscapes of Santorini. We were there at the beginning of September 2019 🙂. Greetings from Portugal!

Hi. Where did you buy a ticket for ferry? Did you reserve in advance?
Hi, we purchased a day or two in advance at the hotel where we stayed (Hotel Creta Palm). But also at the time there were only 2 or 3 ferries per week. Our trip included a bus for the remaining routes and we caught the bus at the hotel entrance. I hope I helped you.

are there same-day returns ferries from Santorini to Crete?
Hello, yes but depending on the time of year the frequency is higher or lower. And also depends on the port of arrival/departure chosen in Crete Rethymno or Heraklion. In my case we went only one day ( Rethymno Crete, Santorini, Rethymno) but it was already in 2019, I don't know if it changed anything.

PS: we are hoping our trip won’t be cancelled because of corona, it would be ideal and I think Santorini this time will be very quiet and relax (no crowd)! 😂

We went and came back the same day, it is not a long time but it is enough to get to know a large part of the island. We just couldn't take pictures of the sunset. 😄
It's not very expensive, I paid per person about 120 €, but it's worth it.
When in Crete, it is worth paying the cost to get to know Santorini at least.🙂
In my case, I embarked in the city of Rethymno and we left at a port near the Thira.
We went by bus initially to Thira, spent some time there visiting the city and then took the same bus and went to Oia for a few hours.
In the end the return is the reverse, always on the same bus. Everything is treated / included when purchasing the ferry ticket. We bought tickets at the hotel where we stayed and the bus early in the morning stopped in front of the hotel to take us to the ferry .
We love to visit the beaches of Crete (Balos and Elafonisi) and Santorini.

Yes, I also think that there will be no big crowd. Otherwise, you must choose a day when there are no cruises moored in Santorini. I luckily chose a day without cruises, but you can see in the video that there were still a lot of people.
Now imagine if there were 3 or 4 cruises there.😄
@@Jose.Ferreira that's a very nice price! We saw online prices that vary from 125 to 180euros... Perhaps you didn't remember the name of the company that organised your daytrip? Maybe it's indeed better to ask at the reception of the hotel. We are staying close to Rethymno so that's great! Yes that's exactly what we thought: this daytrip will give us a glimpse of Santorini, if we want to see more of it, we can always come back. Thank you for the travel tips, we are counting down the days! xoxo
@@KOEZINAA Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the agency. We stayed at the Hotel "Creta Palm" in Agia Marina Stalus and made the reservation at the hotel reception. We had to pay in cash, because the hotel was only providing a service to the travel agency.

É tudo tratado/ incluído ao comprar o bilhete do ferry.
No meu caso, eu embarquei na cidade de Heraklion e saímos num porto perto the Thira.
Fomos de autocarro inicialmente até Thira, passamos lá algum tempo a visitar a cidade e depois apanhamos o mesmo autocarro e fomos algumas horas visitar Oia.
No final o regresso é o inverso, sempre no mesmo autocarro.

Sim, é tipo uma excursão com guia em que levam o pessoal aos pontos mais famosos/bonitos da ilha.
Pelo que entendi é a única forma de ir a Santorini, não é possivel comprar apenas o bilhete do ferry.
Eu decidi comprar lá, existem agências de viagens onde se pode comprar, mas no hotel onde fiquei também tinha uma pequena sala tipo agência de viagens onde se podia comprar os bilhetes.
O autocarro que nos levou para o ferry fazia paragem à frente do hotel, foi só levantar cedo e esperar pelo autocarro na recessão do hotel. 🙂

Principalmente no que toca a viagens e quando estou a zeros no assunto. Creta foi apenas a 2a vez que saí de Portugal em férias. 🙂
No início enganei-me, indiquei que tinha embarcado em Heraklion mas não foi, eu embarquei em Rethymnon.
Heraklion ficou por visitar, fica para umas próximas férias. 🙂

hello, for sure I don't know, we were there in September. But there probably must be, it must be less regularly because it's low season. I know there are ferries to 3 destinations in Crete, Heraklion, Kissamos, Rethimno and Sitia
