When it comes to fight club I think visually the twist is handled so great in the movie it doesn’t hit the same way in the book but that might be because I also watched the movie first before reading the book
Surprised there was no mention of The Godfather. and while I know you were trying to avoid too much Stephen King the lack of any mention of The Shining makes me sad.
Stephen King wrote a book called the different seasons that not only had stand by me but also the Shawshank Redemption. He was writing more dramatic stuff at the time.
I've hosted a podcast about book to movie adaptations for 7 years now and I agree with all these picks alrhough I think the film is better than the book more frequently than you'd think.
I think you might want to watch Barry Lyndon. You know books so good that every line is a memorable quote? Kubrick took that idea and created a movie where every single frame can be framed, hanged on the wall and look like a painting. The movie is a visual masterpiece, while the book is just good.
Choke in theaters legit had two shot the boom drops into the shot.. just the tip… but man it was not one I read but heard it was not as good so a “totally relevant to this topic” Fun video, and made me take a trip down memory lane.
i love when really great channels end up on my recommended page, amazing video!

The Godfather is thet ultimate in this. The novel was mediocre at best, the film is a masterpiece.
