Wonderful basically unknown Soundtrack. And while I don't know that I would go so far as to say it is superior to STAR WARS, it is a Soundtrack that needs to be recognized as one of his greatest!

In many ways, superior to even his STAR WARS soundtrack...

The main title music from a movie which features my all-time favorite John Williams score, a movie which represented the second entry by Brian De Palma in a projected "telekinetic teens" trilogy (the first entry being "Carrie"). Apparently, the idea was scrapped before a third entry could be produced.
The reason that this is my favorite Williams score (or at least my fave soundtrack LP of his) is that, unlike his other scores, you could play this LP with no knowledge of the film itself, and enjoy it as a free-standing concert piece.

      I have no idea...
...but I'm sure that Amy Irving would have had a part in it, as she did in the first two.

I would have to disagree there: Can't that also be said about many of his other scores, that they can be listened to independent from the movie source?
