I hope they announce private solo lobbies because I like the social aspect but Test Drive Unlimited has always been a solo game as well for you to cruise and relax enjoying the map you add other players it ruins that entire element unless you know the other players but like GTA it should have invite only lobbies
TDU2 was extremely public all the time if you had an internet connection, wdym? You would be driving around the map and meet other players all the time, especially around key locations like the Airport or the Casino. I actually met my longest online friend by entering in his house and walking around his garage.

It's been 13 years since TDU2, but it's only been 4 years since the announcement of Solar Crown. Before that announcement, I was pretty sure the license died and that it would be replaced by Forza Horizon and The Crew for years to come. I wasn't expecting TDU to make a comeback, but it did.

@GHOSTSTARSCREAM I think Horizon 5 is the worst of them all. Horizon 2 and 3 were some of the best. The OG Horizon 1 was amazing as well and miss that style of the Horizon games. I loved the location for 4, but that was it. I found myself going back to 2 and 3 more.
Play Test Drive Unlimited 1 & 2 was always enjoyable. Even though they came from an arcade racing game, the handling, the sense of realism, and the scaling just felt so much better than most games in that era of racing games. I am hoping that this game brings the unique feel it had. The customization is a nice point, and I look forward to seeing how the different engine/handling upgrades will impact the cars. Og TDU & TDU 2 were my childhood. I loved how you had to start off with rental cars, and only got a few minutes driving the expensive stuff until you’d grinder enough to afford it. I really hope with solar crown it’s similar and back to the roots and not trying to be formal horizon or the crew.
An always online game to me means no story and no progression. Which is the biggest reasons of what i am looking for in the TDU SC. So always online scares me. And also adding garages and houses later just seems pointless because what if most people have already beaten the story by the time they add them. Houses is what we want as part of the main progression.
We are excited for the game, but we are not praising it for being always online - it is possible to do both. Then there are others who just don't care... Personally, I will not be pre-ordering or purchasing it at launch, or possibly at all, if they do nothing about the always-online aspect.
Things you've missed: Always online, spreadsheet for preorder bonuses, battlepass, day 1 dlc, the actual release date is September 5th. Or you can pay less and play September 10th or 12th.

Crazy to hear you say youre not a competion type of driver when it comes to open world racing games, Ive realized Im the same way I like to enjoy the map exploring and I like to enjoy the characteristics of the cars rather than compete.
The preorder options are different in America, the base price is $59.99, in the different editions as the price goes up, we only get the Ford GT 2006 model, plus up to seven days access before launch.
A few houses or apartments throughout the map would be cool. I don't know maybe 2/3 houses and 2/3 apartments in different parts of Hong Kong. In terms of garages I'm thinking about 8 slots and you can choose what cars you want to display so for example one week you display certain cars and next week you change the cars that are displayed if you want to do that. :)) From what I have seen in other videos we will have car customization and upgrades just not body kits. The cars will have the optional colors, rims and interior trims from factory at the dealership. Curious to see if we will have optional aerodynamic parts for car brands that offer such thing from factory: Ferrari offers different aerodynamic parts on some of there cars as well as Lamborghini, Porsche, Aston Martin, BMW (you can get different bumpers, wings, or some aerodynamic parts in carbon fiber, you have M aerodynamic parts for BMWs, Nismo parts/body kits for Nissan GT-Rs). Maybe we will have at least this option on certain cars that have this customization options from factory. But at the workshop we do have the option to choose aftermarket wheels (real brands such as BBS, Vossen I don't know what brands they have licensed for wheels), different paints from the factory ones (multiple colors to choose from and styles: metallic, glossy, matte etc), we do have a livery editor and we do have performs upgrades: transmission, brakes, suspensions, intake or whatever even exhaust (the sound of the exhaust changes if you upgrade the exhaust at the workshop). I am curious if we will have different interior customization options at the workshop as well and not only the factory options.
I'm a little bit nerd about this but in 8:50 they even put the exact right style of pylon there at somewhere in the country park, I don't think they had done similar thing to Oahu and Ibiza before, of course go for trailing in cars in TDU:SC seems a thing for me now, and I love the real life hiking trails there

Maybe they'll sow more at e3 or if not then another virtual games exhibit event. Maybe they'll show more trailers or more in depth trailers as it comes closer to the release date. If the devs go to e3 they can show a demo like other companies do with e3 or gamescom or other video game showcase events to give us or people that attend like a flavour of what to expect when the full game releases I don't know. Like you said and maybe your right the devs should eventually in the future come out with an offline patch update so the game can still be played. It's unfortunate that the crew 1 is unplayable because of the always online feature. I dont mean to be overly judgmental. Personally, I think that Ubisoft created an overall hate over online only games because they (Ubi) are not true passionates about their games created. For Ubisoft, everything is about money. Now that we see that KT and Nacon are listening, that it's their biggest game and that they are really passionate about what they do, like Gran turismo imo, I'm pretty sure they will announce an offline patch at the end of life. Btw if there is a Forza Horizon 6, I'm prepared that it will be bad from what I saw from Xbox and Microsoft overall during FH5.

Well. It will be a pure multiplayer game. I don't think there's much in terms of progression. There won't be houses until much later, if at all. So the only thing you'll have to save money for are the cars.
One thing that is a shame is the fact there is no phisical collectors edition. Honestly the crew 2 with the license plate still has the best collectors editionin my opinion
The map will roughly the same size as the one in FH4. The differece is that Forza Horizon map is build around the Eliminator game mode, wich makes it extremely flat and boring.
When this one releases you'll get tired after 6 months once the hype wears off. You'll remember that the map is smaller than Horizon 5 and on par with Horizon 4.

I always liked having a garage space for virtual cars. Pgr even did it. It just makes each 9ne of your rides feel that much more special.

Theyre having optimization issues, probably toned them down so the game is lighter, hope they fix it
Graphical progress is real hard work, making rt shadows is as hard as building a bike up from scratch by yourself

We will see, testers say it is very bad, doesnt even slow down before taking turn and often hit you when you slow down.
Forget Forza Horzion series... they're fun for a few weeks then the tiny map gets boring.
