@@allaboutalarms4842 Do you recommend i get more motion detectors? I have two currently. One in my living room and one in my hallway. I was thinking about getting one for each bedroom which would be 2 more incase someone broke a window and got in. The contact sensors wouldn’t really cover a window break in.
I had a traditional wired system and it works the same way this one does. you set one door as your entry exit door and that is the door with the delay. if you open any other door the alarm will immediately go off! You can now get wireless siren's to put in other places in the house. The reason your base station was not loud is because you had it hidden in the bathroom! The best place to put it is mounted on the wall. With this system if the base station is broken it automatically notifies the call center if you are paying for monitoring!
That's an old first alert smoke detector from i wanna say the late 90's early 2000's. My parents house had one in the hallway. Boy when i was 6-7 i was terrified of it. I outgrew that fear of alarms now but they just annoy me lmao
If someone breaks into your door and enter your home, by the time they kill you and take a few things in under 2 minutes, your alarm will just start to go off. No delay entry for me. I disarm the system before opening the door, lock it, and arm it immediately. I feel safest that way. Although, I do see why disarming it for even 30 seconds can be stupid if someone snuck up behind me and knocked me out with my alarm disabled. That's scary too.
For me since I have the second generation, there is a button on the contact sensor that lets you open the door without setting off the alarm for only once. Just press the button and it will flash green, and you can open the door. After you close the door if you want to open the door again you have to press it again, otherwise it will sound the alarm.
On IOS ot sounds like four pulses which plays at max volume even if the phone is silent. On Android there is no preincluded tone, but you can set your own, which in my case I set it to a recording of the alarm going off.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t hear the 10 second countdown sound on the keypad when I was trying to listen to it, but this time I heard it on the base station
They could do that with any system. And if they did, you police would still be immediately notified and you phone will be immediately notified. So even if you have to replace it the proper authorities are on the way
