For future reference - this works right now but might be unintended - get perfect jeweller upgrade first on a lower level gem (say 18) - then if you hit a good corrupt, then and only then level to 20. Even if you hit +1 gem level the gem will keep that enchantment after you level to 20 and be 21, and you can level corrupted gems.
@@sirgog So, basically any gem a fully slotted, and corrupted to have +1 level keeps those properties. Basically, a level 18 vaaled gem with all the slots can turn into a level 21 gem if you upgrade it with a level 20 gem?

The 'can't drop at all when a monster drops level 81 and lower' thing probably should be made clear in game. It took me ages to work out that RNG played a role at all because until late act 6 it doesn't.
Based on experience at least, while its true that gems can some times be one level lower or higher based on rng on any given map, the higher ones seem to drop from either rare monsters or bosses. Or that's just me. Granted, the chance is indeed super low for the 20 ones, but if you ever find one in a t16 corrupted/irradiated or something, it would be nice to see statistics and if its even possible to get from white monsters or lower level areas and compare the chances. Is it the same for all of them? Cheers for another great video!
Always happy to see a Sirgog upload. I have a question that you could probably answer! With the Corrupted Infusion atlas passive node (Corrupted waystones are corrupted an additional time) is it possible to get a t17 waystone, or is that simply not possible? I've tried about 10 or so along with corrupted and irradiated map nodes to try for an area level 83, but it also takes me 20 corrupts just to get a t16 so I wouldn't expect to have seen it proc if it's even possible. Sorry if that is a stupid question, but I looked for into on it and couldn't find any answers.
In the only previous instance of actual double corruptions in the series (gem room in Alva temple), the same corruption outcome can’t be chosen twice, so it seems pretty likely that the same would be true here.
oh god no, rarity is bad enough without that even now that it's been confirmed the game lies to you about how much rarity you have (you have less than the game says because of hidden diminishing returns which means less pre-nerfing of loot takes place to account for rarity)
@@sirgog I can't tell if you're being serious here or not, so my bad if I missed the point of the statement. Ok to test things out just went and did 2 maps lvl 82 at 200 rarity gear and each one dropped 1 lvl 20 gem... might be just luck not sure will try more.
You got lucky.
@@sirgog yeah did like 6 more maps and 0 drop will look for more irradiated areas to try.
I got mine through Shekemas
Everything about this game is fkn RNG. Ritual? RNG. Expedition? RNG. Trials of chaos? RNG. Sekehma? RNG. Crafting? RNG. Atlas??? ALSO RNG.
Everything is friggin RNG based. They tried their best to eliminate determinism. And succeeded, for now.
Just a comment for the almighty algorithm. Thanks for all you do, Sirgog.
Just play PConc, you hit level 90 and you have level 20 5 socket gem.
🍺
How to get high - level gems.
cant we just go back to spamming fuses plz, omg :/
Poe rules 🔥 Subbed ❤ Supporting my community ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
had 2x 20 and 1x 20 spirit gems on like 20~ perfect jewllers and 112 divines
so yeah kind of "rare"
Keep in mind level 80 zones can't drop them at all (Strongbox and map boss corner cases notwithstanding), but 80s are run a lot at endgame. 82 is a huge difference, although it's still rare to get them.
@sirgog forgott to write all 3 dropped at 81 zones from rares
would guess 30% of all my runs are in dropable zones, feels a bit of to rare for my taste
Yeah I think I've ran somewhere in the region of 100 tier 16 maps and I haven't seen one level 20 gem drop yet... Kind of frustrating! Like Just give me the Gem already so I can has level 20 spark
Really is all about those tier 18s (coalesced corruption + irradiated as well). 16 alone isn't high enough.
@sirgog oh I forgot to mention probably 40% of those maps were run on irradiated and coalesced corruption. I've just had the absolute worst RNG. Meanwhile 7-Day playtime I've ended up with around 30 div orbs 120 lesser jeweled and zero perfects lol 😆
Another video that makes Kripp look dumb.
GGG really struggle to keep the monster level low compared to difficulty and also plateau early so we cant test lvl 95+ builds fast during early access. I mean why not punish people who wants to test their game rigorously by trying several different character builds and classes and ascendancies and passive skills by making sure this is EXTREMELY time consuming purposefully?
i got my first uncut 20 skill gem running a T16, boss/+1/+1
edit; was using lvl 20 at lvl 89, you dont have to be 90
