    If you can't find the option for camera stacking, change the "Clear Flags" option on the weapon camera to "Depth Only" and then change the "Depth" value to 1. At least, that's what worked for me :)

    This is why I love your byte-size videos. In this 5 minutes I learned about camera stacking, using the layer mask for rendering and culling, and how to solve the specific problem. Time well spent.

      I aim to please, I hate watching long, drawn out tutorials myself. There's no point, if you can get the content across in 5-10 minutes then do it!

    I am using Unity 2020, and I can't change the render type. Also the camera stacking option is not there.

      @@MMKnight_1 you need to update your project to urp, but you will get a bunch of other problems such as: tree editor is only showing pink trees

    This is all fine and good until you want shadows on your gun, in which case the overlay camera will just render your weapon as if you are outside forever

    Thanks my G, i watched 3 tutorials and everytime when I did what they said my Weapon dissappeared when I started the game, but you made some other changes and now everything works, thanks my guy!

    the only way to do it now is to just make the weapon a 2d image and put it as UI image overlaying it like you would with crosshairs. and if you want animations with it, well youre gonna have to use sprite animation or some shit.

    Ur a fucking life saver by teaching me how to make cameras not render certain things cuz I can not begin to explain the lack of tutorials on this simple common issue and u fixed it so quickly and easily In a great explanation. THANK YOUUUU!

    If you cant see the render type in your camera settings, just install the universal render pipeline.
    1: Import it from the package manager.
    2: Right click in your project tab, select "Rendering", universal render pipeline and then press pipeline asset. (press after you have clicked on the pipeline asset).
    3: Go in to the Edit tab/project settings/graphics, where it says none on the render pipeline press the circle and select the universal render pipeline.
    4: Edit tab/Render Pipeline/Universal render pipeline and press upgrade project materials to universalRP materials.
    5: Done!

    when I was watching this I noticed I didnt have any of the camera settings so I had to learn how to use the URP first but I got there and now my weapon doesnt clip, thanks.

    good sir you have the exact video I was looking for. Do you mid if I throw a few problems your way in discord. I am trying to make an aiming system with procedural guns that are generated during run-time. the problem I have is that the guns will have scopes and iron sights which means I need a system that can adjust for both.

    The thing is if the player drop the gun the player will be able to see it from the room nextdoor, thats the issue i am having

      Camera stacking is implemented in URP/HDRP

      Well that sucks... The way to do it in the standard pipeline is to have your weapon camera rendering only a weapon layer and then set the weapon camera render mode to "depth only" to occlude any sky box or other geometry. That might still be a viable solution for URP/HDRP

      Yeah I'm curious as to how it'd be done outside of the SRP now tbh, I don't often use URP/HDRP myself so I'm not entirely clued up on some of the nuances
