He always looks so proud when interviewers mention Breaking Bad. Best smile in the game, I swear

Born and raised in Gallup, NM. Yes our town was once dubbed "Drunktown, USA" we've improved since then. From what I've seen in the trailer, its an authentic view of Gallup and the surrounding Navajo nation. Almost every turn you take there's a "glonie" (drunk native), as the Navajos call them, staggering, approaching people in their cars asking for change or a dollar. Some may be offended because natives are always stereotyped as drunks but this is the reality of Gallup. But don't get me wrong though, there are many beautiful things here in Gallup, NM for people to experience.

I'm just glad no one did a movie on my reservation. That would be kind of hectic. I'm from the Yakama Reservation and we're kind of having some messed up shit going down in White Swan. That shit is like an episode of cops. Some of us were and are those weed smoking guys that come off as some tough guy from the wrong side of the tracks. Only we really don't know our own language all that much except for a few words here and there. Our language is starting to be taught again but not at the Dine language rate just yet. Some of us did grow up having to eat nothing but elk meat and canned veggies for several months straight but it was eating.

I really like that Bitsui speaks of people in first person, especially when he talks about how judgmental we can be. So many celebrities distance themselves from themselves by speaking in 2nd person. often saying "you" when they mean I or we. Although he slips into using you at the end of the interview, he mostly sound very present in his own experiences. Perhaps people use "you" instead of "I" so they don't sound egotistical...but a person's experiences are always their own, so when they are telling me about their experience, I don't want to hear them telling me "you feel this or you think that" I too hope he keeps what feels like an innate humility. I am looking forward to seeing Drunktown's Finest.
