I just found your channel and I liked, subbed, and rang the bell. You made a lot of great purchases at a great time. I was making a top 100 want list of cards I could realistically purchase, even if some were stretching it to around 2K. Unfortunately I made the list about a month ago and now some cards I have to either remove from the list outright or lower the grade I was looking for. I think long term these prices will sustain, but they will drop off 1st. With the world's economy the way it is, many people will be forced into selling their collections at some point. Unfortunately a recession is inevitable, it's just a question of when it happens. I do think these higher end cards will be some of the 1st things to not only comeback completely, but to go further up in price. I was looking into buying a PSA 9 Jordan RC around 2013/2014. The price was bouncing between 1200 & 1500. I was close to buying a really nice looking one, but didn't buy it over $100 difference with the seller. My biggest collecting regret by far. 1 thing holds true regardless of the asset. Quality outperforms quantity 999 times out of 1000. I don't think you can go wrong longterm with higher end cards of greats like Jordan, Brady, Gretzky, etc. I would be selective on someone like Brady as he has tons of different RC's. For him I would buy PSA 10's of RC's that had smaller %'s of 10's compared to the rest of the grades for that card. I would also buy some popular but affordable cards like the Bowman Chrome RC. Anyhow, I think I wrote a book here so I hope you're doing well. Stay safe and thank you for sharing.

Thanks for watching and appreciate the sub! I definitely agree that quality outperforms quantity, and long term the quality cards will do well even if there is a price correction in the short term. That is brutal missing out on the PSA 9 Jordan RC! I have a few collecting regrets like that from over the years - both buying and selling. Thanks again for the support and looking forward to your next book release! 😃 Take care!

Amazing collection! You have lots of legends and not as many unknown players. Great job on making all that profit!

Thanks! Yeah for the most part I focus on buying legends and HOFers. 🏆 I recently started buying some current players and opening packs, but I do that for the love of the hobby and not as much for investing. Thanks for watching!

I was duped with the heratige cards when I thought I was getting authentic baseball cards from.the late 60s. Topps made the mistake of trying to turn novelty cards into valuable ones

Nice video! What cards would you recommend for now, under between $100-150 and under $100?

Thanks for the support! I'd say Griffey Jr. Topps Tiffany RC is under-priced at $100-$150 raw or in PSA 8. Also, Omar Vizquel may get in the HOF soon which makes his rookie cards in PSA 10 a good speculative investment IMO.

Return on your investment? Did you sell all these to make this profit?

Great cards, but I have to point out that you haven't made any returns on your investments until you sell them. This is what people "investing" during the junk wax era failed to realize, and I'm starting to see a lot of the same mindset again. You had people hoarding cards and making fortunes on paper, only for the bottom to drop out and leave them with basically nothing. If the majority of people are buying or hoarding, the supply is artificially decreased, which drives prices up, but when you're finally ready to sell, the price could easily be less than what you bought for. Also don't forget the fees, which are around 13% of the sale price.

Definitely right! The profit isn't realized until the cards are sold. Technically the gains on these cards would be considered unrealized short term capital gains at this point.

At least you have some classic cards here and proven legends. I worry that a lot of the people investing in baseball prospects and the young NFL and NBA players will be upside down in not too long.

Buying the latest hot prospect cards for big money (Jasson Dominguez) and hoping to turn a profit down the road is basically gambling if you ask me!
