Eh, yes, you have to check everything everywhere ;) All the best. Cheers. /Paul

It's also fun to visit record dealers from different countries, and look for a specific French dealer for a French jazz rock record. Or just go through the cheap boxes and let luck surprise you. Hi John. Everybody at the fair is knowledgeable, sellers and buyers, and discogs is the main guideline. Of course with so many dealers at the fair there is competition. Many resellers keep a select number of records from there online shops to sell specific on the fair. Others use the fair to sell a lot of their cheaper titles. The record fair has a different dynamic compared to an online marketplace. Thanks for watching. Cheers. /Paul
I agree discogs is a strange phenomena, John. Especially as it gets a fee for the records that get sold. Still everybody was using their phone to check prices. Some sellers on Discogs ask crazy money. On the record fair you can negoitiate and check condition of the record directly. /Paul
It's always fun to dig in crates to find records, at record shops, record fairs or other vinyl junkies collection. If you're willing to tell, where are you from John? /paul
Hahah, it seems you are training different fingers to buy records ;) For me nothing beats the feeling of digging in crates, getting dirty and finding records :) Happy Easter. Cheers. /Paul
every good record dealer should've the ability to pick stuff from the crates in records - not necessarily the stuff the customer looks for but rather stuff needs or should've heard of at least. that's the best part of it. selling stuff to ppl they never knew they wanted, plus - are you dabbling with your camera focus recently? this and also the previous video seem to be a little out of focus when you do show the album covers.
Hahah, yes that's the real talent of a record shop owner. Sell you records you didn't knew you wanted. And trade the records back you don't need anymore ;) I'm experimenting a little with new camera options. Trying to be fancy and create a blurry background, isn't working all the time the way I want. Have a great Easter weekend. Cheers. /Paul
@@XjunkieNL the trading in part is what we don't do at the shop i work at, just because they're mainly dj material and woudl be too effed after being used and abused for providing dancefloor pleasures.
I can understand you don't trade at the shop. Depends maybe also a bit on the music itself. Some of the records I have bought come from DJ trades, as the music is no longer hip to play and they are looking buy new music. /Paul
@@XjunkieNL usually that stuff goes to second hand stores of flea markets when it comes to electronic music, i guess. or to discogs. but i feel with jazz x funk and whatever is is your realm mostly the dj's do care more about handling the records halfway proper as it is all about the song whereas in let's say house x techno x drum'n'bass etc the tunes are just tools and exchangeable parts of a puzzle a.k.a. a dj set and therefore are handled more roughly with mixing, cutting, scratching and all that. even though your african records seem to be pretty beat up all the time ;)
You're right. I have seen DJ's that play jazz from vinyl, the first thing they did was change the cartridge. And use only their own cartridges. My African DJ friends follow a different philosophy ;) /Paul
Great video. No doubt my comment will recieve some blowback from those who just don't get it, but a "Black Music" section. Really? So was that where they held all the Jazz, Rock N Roll, Blues, R&B, Soul, Gospel, Funk, Folk, Hip Hop, Rap, Drum & Base,...? I guess we should be thankful they were progressive enough not to call it the Negroe section.
Hi Teddy. Thanks for the comment. I see your point. It is a sensititve subject. Wikipedia mentions black music as music created, produced, or inspired by black people, people of African descent, including African music traditions and African popular music as well as the music genres of the African diaspora, including Caribbean music, Latin music, Brazilian music and African-American music. Black music does not just encompass sounds of the U.S. black experience but also a global black experience that stretches from Africa to Americas. Although we should not ignore those that feel it as a derogatory term. All the best. Cheers. /Paul

@@XjunkieNL I guess I don't have opportunity. But you have to have always dreams. ;)
If you can't come over, we come to you. Invasion from planet Records ;) /Paul
Where is this? Germany.
Hi Mark. Vinyl heaven is located in Den Bosch, the Netherlands :) Cheers. /Paul
Prices on Record Fairs are less expensive than online marketplaces like ebay or discogs? There's a lot resellers online.
Cheers. /Paul
@@XjunkieNL Discogs is totally overpriced, check each listing, the prices are way up vs the sold price, the sellers don't respect the sold price.
I agree discogs is a strange phenomena, John. Especially as it gets a fee for the records that get sold. Still everybody was using their phone to check prices. Some sellers on Discogs ask crazy money. On the record fair you can negoitiate and check condition of the record directly. /Paul
@@XjunkieNL I wish have records fairs, I'm not live in Europe or USA. thanks.
It's always fun to dig in crates to find records, at record shops, record fairs or other vinyl junkies collection. If you're willing to tell, where are you from John? /paul
The largest record fair is discogs.. cough cough ... haha
Hahah, it seems you are training different fingers to buy records ;) For me nothing beats the feeling of digging in crates, getting dirty and finding records :) Happy Easter. Cheers. /Paul
Good one. But right.😁
every good record dealer should've the ability to pick stuff from the crates in records - not necessarily the stuff the customer looks for but rather stuff needs or should've heard of at least. that's the best part of it. selling stuff to ppl they never knew they wanted,
plus - are you dabbling with your camera focus recently? this and also the previous video seem to be a little out of focus when you do show the album covers.
Cheers. /Paul
Confederate flag? Nazis there? Trump voters?
Hi Mike. I did see some albums by Sparks. Does that count? ;) Cheers. /Paul
