The way you outlined the various options and avenues was very clear, concise and educational. Very valuable. Thank you
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it.
@@vineyardtime5545 I'm glad. As a luxury watch tragic I looked forward to trying on someone's J.C Sea Dweller today. I gotta say (as ArchieLuxury opines) that I was underwhelmed because it did nothing for me. So a steel sports Rolex is no longer on my list. But I'm really digging the JLC Amvox and Master Compressors.
The JLC Amvox and Master Compressors are wonderful choices! They are beautiful pieces with rich histories. I love the mechanics of both of these series. Additionally JLC is one of the few brands that is truly an in house manufacturer.
@@vineyardtime5545 Nice to know - coming from you. Thanks.
I walked into my local AD in the town center ( UK ) sat down with the sales assistant had a really good experience ( My first ever time walking into a Rolex AD ) no spending history or registered interest at all. He let me try on the Submariner date Black bezel and the Yachtmaster 40.. He quickly registered my interest we had a laugh some good conversations he offered me a drink gave me the new hard back Rolex book 2021 nicely packaged up put my name forward straight away for 2 great models and said hopefully by christmas.. Being polite confident honest and genuine can also do the trick.... Although of course i don't have my watch yet.. but im quite confident!
Thanks for the advice ! I managed to visit an AD and I walked out with a 2020Sub, I was very lucky. I mentioned that I just got engaged and this was my opening line to the Sales Person “I know that everyone loves the Rolex brand , but can you tell me why Rolex is special to you, and why have you chosen to represent this brand?” He then asked me what my budget was , and I said £7k , he came down with the Two Tone Black dial Sub at £11k.
Some addition to my luck : this was just as the stores opened again from the Covid lockdown, and I suspect that they had these watches waiting for buyers and I was just at the right place , at the right time.
An experience I will never forget as it was my first Rolex.
Good example on what addiction and obsession can lead to.
Would it be a good decision to get my first rolex (stainless Steel sky dweller blue face) by asking to stay on a waiting list or should I do something else?
I appreciate your candor.
Very informative!
Thanks so much!
Rolex is playing games with wait list. The las 3 Rolex watches that I purchased were walk-ins. I won’t play their game; if Rolex doesn’t want to sell me a watch, I’ll buy a better watch. Patek, vercheron, or A.Lang. Screw Rolex and their games.
Have cash ready and been in touch with 3 AD's in the UK, can't even get on a list. Don't mind if I have to wait over a year, but without even being able to get onto a list, God knows when I'll finally get one???
That’s so frustrating, I’m sorry your having so much difficulty in the UK, hopefully a local dealer will help get you on the list soon. It also might be worth checking back now and again as different AD’s have been known to adjust their policies. Good luck in your search! Let me know how it goes!
You've kinda answered a question that was rolling around in my head, but I'll ask it anyway.
Is it considered poor etiquette to develop a relationship with more than one Rolex AD, especially if that AD may be part of a "chain" that has multiple locations in your town?
Thanks!
Thanks for your question. I think having a relationship with multiple stores can be positive and allow you to have a broader access to inventory if done tactfully and respectfully. However, with a chain this approach may backfire as many chains have a common database of customer information. Feel free to ask any other questions! Thanks.
That is like cheating on your GF!
Hello. I am looking at a 2018 GMT- Master II black n blue (Batman) ceramic bezel steel model # 116710 BLNR . The add says “Random serial number”. Is this something I should be wary of?? The asking price is $14800. Good deal?? Thanks
Thanks so much for your question. The random serial number is not something to worry about. It is referring to how Rolex no longer offers sequential serial numbers to their watches, they are “random.”Prior to the the implementation of random serial numbering a collector could identify the production year of the watch based on its serial number range. Current watches by Rolex feature random serial numbering.
Regarding the watch, the price seems within range of what we are seeing on the current secondary market for the Batman, however how good of a deal it is or isn’t will depend on condition, box papers, etc. Also, always make sure the dealer is reputable. That way you know you are purchasing a good watch. Let us know if you have any more questions and please consider subscribing! Thanks.
Sooooo, did you buy it?
Just call ADs. I’ve had luck asking for pieces and then getting offered if I come in to purchase. It can be done.
That’s wonderful to know that this strategy has helped. Thanks for sharing!
what pieces did they offer you?
it comes down to money pure and simple: you have to spend money at that AD to establish yourself and be willing to say politely, "i've spent xyz dollars recently, now im ready for my rolex". after buying a tudor in november and another tudor in december I asked to be on the list and for the first time, my salesman said, which watch do you want? i chose the root beer and he said no problem, probably no more than six months to wait. may not sound impressive but prior to purchasing the two tudor watches, that same salesman wouldn't even take my name for any rolex list.
That’s a good point, congrats on your new watches! You can never go wrong with a Tudor and the Rolex Root Beer is a great choice!
This is CRAZY
Got the everoseDJ41wimbledon, fluted on ¿jubilee from my new AD in 4 weeks with no history. Is it good or just regular ? Thank you
Magnifique 👍 Wow
No new info here, but thoughtfully stated.
Thanks. We just made it as a simple video for people who might not be as familiar with the waitlist process. Feel free to check out some of our other videos that are more in depth. And let us know if there are any topics or question you might be interested in having us answer!
Yeah man... this whole "Building up a relationship" thing is so bullshit... you are 100% right... but I never even put that much effort in my love relationships as much as I have to with my ADs.... I am just so frustated... I think I might up giving up on this Rolex brand or maybe just buy a two tone datejust and be happy with it.
I completely understand the frustration. Steel Rolex watches are great, so are the two tones. But there are also a lot of other amazing brands! Which model are you waiting for?
I m not a Rolex guy, but I wanted a special one, couldn’t get it. So I bought a clone! So I have all originals but that f...ing Rolex. The price on the secondary was immediately double the price. Maybe I get the real one later on, but I don’t think so. It’s already 3 times the price. I m again on the list for an expected model, let’s c
The clones can be fine, but I get wanting the real thing. Keep your eyes out, the market is always changing. But I agree at the current time the secondary prices are very strong. Good luck in your search. Hopefully the list moves fast!
I just walked in and bought my SUB at a discount.
Those were the good old days!
Said no-one
Sorry guys you have no clue what waiting list I got my Rolex Pepsi in 3 weeks lol it’s just depending on the profile of the customer and location to remain politically correct
I don't know why people are so obsessed with Rolex, I've had one in thre past and sold it on, people should look at other brands like iwc, they make better looking watches.
Nothing better than a Rolex, NOTHING!
Or you can just buy OMEGA !!😆
Omega makes a great watch as well!
But omega watches are ugly af
Go buy an Omega. Cheaper and better.
Omega makes a great watch!
Click bait!!!!!!
Basic knowledge......
How is that fast?? 😂
My AD sold me a Pepsi and I sold it for 16500 the same day
Congrats! The Pepsi models are definitely in high demand.
Just make sure they don't find out so you don't get blacklisted. Unless you don't care then nevermind.
Very true! Rolex is very strict with their blacklist policy as are most Authorized Dealers.
And there’s the problem right there, didn’t really want the watch, just flipped for a profit, people who really want it, are waiting still! Brilliant
@@dmaul5190 Yessir! I've been waiting on a Pepsi for over a year and this gentleman bought one and flipped it. I would have worn the heck out of that thing if it was me. Here is another interesting thing to consider, most of the harder to get watches are sold to guys who already have huge collections and don't really care so they just flip them. I can't say I wouldn't do the same thing if I had Pateks and APs.
