I wouldn’t recommend bathing your cat that often, unless it is doctor’s advice. Daily brushing and a quick wipe down with a damp towel from time to time would be sufficient. One thing I would for sure recommend for kitten care is actually teeth cleaning/brushing daily, if you haven’t done so with your cat! I highly suggest getting into it while your cat is still young :)
I appreciate that you talked about the Atlanta shooting, sadness, and bystander effect at the end of this video. It’s been so heavy and it felt a little comforting to hear you mention it.
This is super cute also just a little tip try using pet wipes instead of a full bath it can dry out their skin if you're not careful. It happened to my cat in the winter her skin was so dry she would pull out her hair from scratching dry spots.
I only bathed my cat once in her 16 years so far. That time she was in the roof after they were done making some minor repairs and she got sealant on her 🤦🏻♀️ it was a struggle. But she never actually smelled bad, she smells the same always, like furr and sunshine ☺️

Please don't bathe your cat unless your vet has told you too. Ultimately its your decision but as you are a new cat owner it may be helpful to know a few of the reasons why. 1) cats have antibacterial saliva and they are able to lick their own fur clean and make it smell nice - they are self cleaning unlike dogs 2) the ph of the water doesn't suit their skin and can cause skin irritations. People only bathe their cats when they get something in their fur which is harmful of ingested whilst liclign their fur clean. If you do decide your cat needs cleaning there are other ways to do this like purchasing pet wipes or using a damp cloth over their body (especially as you are bathing her so regularly) 3) generally cats don't really like water and don't need baths so it's best avoided where possible.
I always bathe my kittens but stop when they are older. Its more about teaching them to be okay with it than cleanliness. That way if there is an issue they need a bath to treat (extreme fleas are horrible in my state) they don't freak out.
Those dumplings look delicious! Also, my cats like to sit on the cabinet that holds all their items to watch me cook as well. Whenever I look over to them, they both make excited sounds, it’s like I have my own peanut gallery.
You could probably reduce the frequency of bathing your cat. It's rough on their skin and your cat should know how to clean them self. I would recommend the daily brushing to help reduce the amount of hairballs they could potentially have and maybe once a week take a furminator to their coat. My pair of cats get about a once a year bath, but mostly cause it seems once a year they manage to get into something that requires me to help them get back to a baseline clean. Not going to lie, I was about to be mega mad at you when I saw the CHI bottle, but then you showed the label and I was like "oh thank god Wendy isn't a nutter"
I enjoyed this. It was nice seeing glimpses into things outside of sewing projects (though of course I love the sewing projects as well!). Please thank Sagwa for being so kind as to give us all a nose boop.
It seems like lots of other folks have already said this, but I would also add that cata, unlike dogs, do not need to be bathed! They are very hygienic and clean themselves! A daily or couple times a week brushing will help keep her clean and wiping down her eyes and face. If you want her to smell nice, or spot clean you could always use a dry cat shampoo! That way she doesn’t need to get fully wet and it will save both you and her some heart ache. You definitely want the time you spend with her to be positive, and scary experiences like this doesn’t help give her a good association with people. Best of luck Wendy! I can tell you really love her

On Friday I have my first appointment with a surgeon. Can't wait to be done. :)

Im starting braces next week. Did you guys have a metal thread behind your theeth while they shifted? Little bit stressed about the investment at my age (20+) and then them shifting again. xx
@@8pmirakl hey, i got different loose „braces“, one was completely plastic and a little „chewy“ and ones with metal wires which wendy inspired me to put in again 😅 after I got the permanet ones out
I also did Invisalign over covid. Mine weren’t even that bad but as you said, I definitely noticed and now that they are fixed I like to take photos of me smiling more often 😁 Also, as a lot of people said already, I don’t think it’s necessary to bathe your cat that often. If it’s not recommended by your vet, she usually won’t need it. They clean themselves constantly not like dogs for example.
Wendy, thank you for speaking from your heart about the very disturbing actions going on for the Asian community. I don’t know what to say except, these are not my beliefs and I will stand with and for you. I am so saddened by these actions. From a fellow western Canadian...be gentle with yourself too 🙏🏻❣️
Hey Wendy, love your videos. I know it's been said already, but I would like to add my voice. You don't need to wash your cat, especially so regularly, unless it has been recommended by your vet. Cats clean themselves. Regular brushing should be enough. My cat has white paws which never seem to have any discolouration from the floors or from being outside so I'm not sure why your floors would be causing discolouration? Anyway, if it's really an issue you could wash just the paws. Baths are stressful and unnecessary for most cats.
did you have to get any teeth pulled to give your teeth room to move? My first consultation for braces they suggested that and i want to avoid that if possible.
Not once in his 17 years of life have I bathed my oldest cat, he is a normal mixed European shorthair and black though and I have never bathed any of the other three cats either. The youngest two like water so they got a quick shower but just with water no shampoo was involved. I don't think cats actually need baths unless they are naked, can't clean themselves for whatever reason or got really dirty. Mine just never did and no they don't look dirty or smell either, they clean themselves quite well. I also know someone with two fully white cats and he haa never given them a bath either. Don't think they need that to stay white unlike dogs who go outside.
A tip for your cat.... don't bathe them that often. Maybe, once a year during the spring or summer time. I only bathe my three cats during the warmest day of the year. I only do it once. Another tip is to find a shampoo with oatmeal in it, made for cats. I had a vet tell me that. It's gentle on their skin. Cats lick themselves all the time. That is how they groom themselves and take a bath. You can get flee stuff for your cat too. Mine are strickly indoors as well, I do plan to get all three of them flee stuff at some point. Cute kitten! Also, check out Jaxson Glaxay on youtube. He has his show "My Cat From Hell". He also does great videos on how to train a cat. He explains how you should not free feed your cat. He talks about all things cats. He really has helped me so much with my cats. Cats need places to climb. Make some cat DIY climbing trees and cat toys on this channel. Would love to see you sew some cat toys. :)

on this day, 4 years ago I got my braces out, it was the best feeling ever, having so beautiful straight and white theeth 😁 sadly now they shifted again a little
I got mine out in 2019 after 2 years and their shifted again
Im starting braces next week. Did you guys have a metal thread behind your theeth while they shifted? Little bit stressed about the investment at my age (20+) and then them shifting again. xx
Wear retainers to bed and the shift won't get super bad.
@@8pmirakl hey, i got different loose „braces“, one was completely plastic and a little „chewy“ and ones with metal wires which wendy inspired me to put in again 😅 after I got the permanet ones out
@@8pmirakl get wires glued behind your teeth, mine are still the same since 7 years. (no nighttime retainer)
I also did Invisalign over covid. Mine weren’t even that bad but as you said, I definitely noticed and now that they are fixed I like to take photos of me smiling more often 😁
Also, as a lot of people said already, I don’t think it’s necessary to bathe your cat that often. If it’s not recommended by your vet, she usually won’t need it. They clean themselves constantly not like dogs for example.
wendy's voice is SO SOOTHING-
Congratulations on the invisalign! Also those dumplings look delicious 🤤
Wendy, thank you for speaking from your heart about the very disturbing actions going on for the Asian community. I don’t know what to say except, these are not my beliefs and I will stand with and for you. I am so saddened by these actions. From a fellow western Canadian...be gentle with yourself too 🙏🏻❣️
Oh goodness! Congrats on finishing Invisiline! I had them for like 2 years. It was such a huge day to toss them!
Your voice is giving me asmr tingles!
Always good to watch your videos and hear your soothing voice. Love ya
I'm getting dumplings for lunch now. That looks so good!
I'm normally one to hate cats, but Sagwa is literally the cutest kitty I've ever seen 😍
Omg you made a maangchi recipe! I love her!!!
Maangchi's soondubu jjigae is a house favorite of ours, too, especially when one of us needs a pick-me-up.
I'm at week 9 of 46, so exciting to see your progress!
my cat was never bathed, he cleans himself and he smells better than I do lol, like he puts on perfume when no one's looking or something
I love the image of a cat secretly putting on perfume when no one's looking 😆
Haha, how do cats smell so good? I agree they wash themselves excellently but given their tools I don't understand how they manage to smell so sweet!
@@elmomoo52 so true, my cats sometimes smell like they just took a shower.
You're videos are always a joy to watch 😊
How exciting!! I’m almost halfway though with my invisalign and seeing the progress is so crazy
Hey Wendy. I hope you are having a lovely day, evening or night. 🥰
did you have to get any teeth pulled to give your teeth room to move? My first consultation for braces they suggested that and i want to avoid that if possible.
I'm still working on my invisalign. Yay for the quarantine Invisalign club!
ahhh I can't wait to cross the finish line myself! ❤
A day at a time you’re gonna get there!!
Thank you for showing your invisalign progress, I've been needing some encouragement with mine 🤣
hiii , i d like to know what the cheapest sewing maching i can get , but work with denim too. Btw you are soo pretty
this was so soothing to watch and I love Sagwa 🌷🐈
I kept all of mine! (and my dentist said to keep the last 3 in case you need to go back and "fix" things)
Wendy! My girlfriend loves you, and she wants to know tips for removing Invisalign - she's on the first couple of days and really struggling! Thank you!!!
i love sagwa so much
Love your video. I just want to spread joy like you did up here. Love you guys ! Be safe and we got your back !! ♥️♥️♥️ also I have two notions. I have my company’s notion and my personal one. My personal one has everything from recipes to my cats stuff that I order each month Lol. My business has collaborators my few employees. A bit costly but I don’t have to pay for my personal one so it’s just another business expense 🤷🏾♀️ .
Love your cooking apron!
your voice is so soothing!!!
I give you my support from France ( because i am french) for the last sadesset part 👋 thanks for help me to talk english (as you can see they have a lot of progrest to do)
Well done on your English! Keep practising - you are doing well :)
OMGGG!! I was waiting for a vlog, and now it's here!!!! Can't wait to see future vlogs!!!
Love your channel, Wendy!! 😄🌸
