Yep, the current court has been the work of decades and the tree was planted in the early 1980s (at the very latest), before Mitch even entered the Senate. McConnell is just the one to live long enough to see that fruit ripen.
The Federalist Society has been working to put together the current ultra-conservative court since the early 80s, with Leonard Leo being their most successful operative and power player. Like the more specific (and only slightly older) plot to restrict reproductive rights for women, the plan to fundamentally alter the composition and role of the Supreme Court has been steadily chugging away for decades and we did nothing.
And like the rest of the mainstream Democrats, Biden is going to do fuck-all to fix the problem. As usual.

There's almost no way a DEA agent is going to be able to tell an opium poppy from a field poppy, or even notice a San Pedro cactus in a pot on your porch. It can take a while to get the hand of growing and processing some of the above species, but it's doable for a lot of people.

This video didn't really do a good job explaining this is a power grab of the Supreme Court not a king status. The courts will decide in every case retroactively what official acts are and only in narrow scope. If Biden does it, it's not official. If Trump does it, it is. They hold the cards. Unless Biden packs the courts.

Since they haven't actually broken any laws, I doubt that would happen. Some of that shadiness that's been going on with the Supreme Court needs to be investigated and dealt with immediately, though. Then, start work on reworking the whole judicial branch to do away with lifetime appointments since they have proven to not be the hedge against corruption that they were intended to be. Set a term length and some sort of term limits. There also need to be actual rules on their conduct. And explicitly state that there is no "no appointments in the last year of a Presidential term except when our guy is President" rule like McConnell claimed to keep Obama from appointing a judge when a seat came up.
The three branches are supposed to be coequal, but the Roberts Court seems bent on giving itself more power than is appropriate. Several of the sitting justices need to be impeached.
Of course, much of this requires amending the Constitution, so it's not terribly likely to happen.

Honestly, as long as it was done at a time when there would be no time for impeachment, it certainly seems like the President could even order them terminated in a more literal sense, and there would be no recourse to even give him consequences for it.

1) Abolish the court.
2) Remove nominating power from the President and give it to an independent, non-political council of scholars.
3) Set formal rules of what constitutes a Supreme Court Judge, including clear, ethical guidelines.
Who can do these things? SCOTUS would have to rule on the constitutionality of such choices and they are not going to rule against their own interests
I haven't been following everything they do, but so far I've seen three instances where they have just made up a law that doesn't actually exist.
Pro tip- no laws "exist." It's all made up BS to control your life. They don't give two figs about you or your family, as long as their -extortion- tax funded paychecks keep rolling in.

The Supreme Court needs to be abolished. There is no law they could rule on that couldn't be ruled on by elected officials or by referendum.
