My question is that how can we create good stroke on the bat as i refurbished my bat but after refurbishing there is no stroke on the bat or its like a dead bat no return of the ball when its hitted, even hammered it,got out several times pls suggest
Hi there. I've got an SS Ton, which has seen three full seasons, and about 3300 runs. Nothing significantly bad on it except a few minor cracks at the toe, but I'm doing a full refurb myself. Would I need to knock it in again after the sanding and waxing? I would really appreciate your response. Best regards BP
DO NOT PUT ANY WAX OR LINSEED OIL ON THE SPLICE AREA OR STICKERS This will remove stickers make them peel and will make the splice more soft resulting in the splice coming of!!
Depends on whether you do it by hand or not. Obviously an electric sander will make the job much quicker but what you are looking to do is sand off the oil and any dirt, marks etc until you are back to just wood. With an electric sander you are looking anywhere between 3-10 minutes depending on the bat. If you are doing it by hand you are possibly looking at up to an hour
If you are not using wax then you will need to put some linseed oil on the bat after sanding it down and before using against a ball. Wax has been around a little while now, it is less messy than linseed oil and does give a better look overall than just linseed oil on the bat. If I ran out of wax and had linseed oil, I wouldn't be fussed, I'd use the oil.
