- Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has said that the Congress will think of scrapping reservations in India when the country is in a “fair place” which it is not currently in. His remarks came during an interaction with students at Washington’s Georgetown University. Gandhi is on a three-day visit to the US with a view to further strengthening the India-US bond. “When you look at the financial numbers, then tribals get 10 paise out of 100 rupees; Dalits get 5 rupees out of 100 rupees, and OBCs get a similar number. The fact of the matter is that they’re not getting participation," the Congress MP said, adding, “We will think of scrapping reservations when India is a fair place. It is not a matter of hating or not. It's a matter of intentions, his intentions are not right.
Despite in implementation for 77 years , Reservations did not bring in any change in the lives of the downtrodden people . This is because the benefits of reservations are enjoyed and abused only by the families of the 'first time beneficiaries' through their next generations vertically. There is no horizontal spread of beneficiaries in the eligible castes.They are kept in dark and are being poisoned in thoughts by these beneficiaries saying that higher castes are responsible for their plight. The Governments also don't have the intent to change the ways to make it more beneficial to these downtrodden people. Instead people like RG badmouth on India and Higher castes and want to take away the General Category pie into reservations. This way India can never be a fair play ground in this aspect. On the other hand, general category people are getting frustrated and leaving India in search of fair life which is causing brain drain.Thank god that these people did not win this time, otherwise India would have been like Bangladesh. Don't know how long we will be able to survive with politicians of this mindset, we are waiting for the doomsday if they come to power..We still see some hope in India from the current government..Otherwise only God can Save India

The caste system as we know it today is the gift of British based on thier limited understanding of the varna and jati system from sanatana dharma. The purpose of british was to be able to control the population better and the best way they could do it is to create emotional divisions.
