Thank you for trying out my build! For clarification, I chose accuracy over cooling mainly because you're gonna be switching between weapons a lot which gives plenty of time to cool down, and also because it's annoying trying to shoot bugs with high spread. That said, cooling is also really strong.
Yeah, I find accuracy with the plasma rifle to be a problem with any OC that increases spread. If I don't use that upgrade to bring it back down to a sane level, it becomes useless at long range and a struggle even at mid. Even in this video, it's struggling to hit at long range.
I disagree with him on some topics, but the guy plays on modded difficulties. That requires different mindset. Some OCs that are strong on haz5 could be worse on higher haz and vica versa.
@@Marfius_Au_Marfongus On the difficulties Waste plays, the meta starts to shift towards being more centralized around the sheer number of bugs of all kinds that you have to kill. For example, Fatboy is fun in haz 5, but in haz 6x2+ you're rarely gonna see engi running anything other than Breach Cutter or Volatile Impact Reactor for the sake of his self defense. Another example, is Volatile Bullets which, while strong enough in hazard 5, is so useful in modded difficulties that entire teams are designed to take advantage of it. That being said, I would genuinely like to hear more about what takes you disagree with, I might learn something new.

biggest thing about the drak is edging i use the thermal overclock so being overheated is pretty common for me but I find if u edge it (many others have found this too) you end up having a higher dps
I do think the drak needs a buff to damage. I run it a lot cause I love the feel of it but I chew through ammo even with the upgrade and I'm constantly having to tap fire. Feels like the colette wave cooker in that sense.
What's is strange about the drak is it feels weak but has the highest total damage of all the scouts weapons (total damage being damaged per shot x total ammo)
Thermal Exhaust Feedback set up 21222 can sustain longer and has the added positive of more ammo and the heat damage. Plasma splash helps to take out anything but the most heavily armored bugs. Has better accuracy at medium range. Allows you to roam freely. M1000 smokes everything at long range but for high speed low drag play style this one is right there at the top. Specifically prefer this for the ammo and heat management. Would recommend pairing with Boomstick with Stuffed Shells OC setup 11313. Synergizes with the ire damage of the primary and drops soft targets close range with ease. Optionally you can select Overcharged PCF in the above Drak build and synergize for electric damage with Nishanka and the Inhibitor Field Generator. The Specialist OC setup 33112. Pop few taser bolts inside the IFG field and switch back to Drak and watch the bugs melt inside the slow field when you take aim and press the trigger.
A build that you might enjoy; Electrocuting Focus Shots 1,2,2,2,1 Gas Recycling: 2,1,2,1,1 This build has the dmg output that matches the one in the video while maintaining Scouts strength of range. A praetorian can get shredded fast with a focus shot and a Nuk mag dump to the face. IFG's are great to further boost the dmg output.
Got a scouty build for ya. I've been using this in the Haz 6 streams and it actually got me through the EDD solo tonight so now that I'm acquainted with it, I thought I'd share it. Active Stability System M1000 23121 Fire bolts crossbow 32111 Pheromone grenades I also really like taking 1112 on the grappling hook with this build because I'm constantly running and kiting. The idea with this build is to kinda have everything for every enemy type. The M1000 is built mostly for single-target for the hefty bois, but can still be used for personal defense with no fear of ammo drain. The fire crossbow and pheromones are for the swarms. You'd lay some fire bolts down on the ground and kite the swarm back and forth over them. The electric bolts are the super multi-role ammo type. They can be used the same way as fire bolts (not recommended) or they can be used against big bois to lock them down. Virtually any bug (including bulks) will be immobilized with 2 or 3 electric bolts in it. Then you can either pheromone the big boi and let the swarm eat them alive or shoot them yourself with no fear of missing shots because you're shooting a stationary target. Have fun
I love Drake with Shield Battery Booster it gives way more survivability and more ammo it is really fun being a support in multiplayer missions with shield link. On solo it’s still really fun because of the absurd shield regen
OPA isnt bad when compared to drak with no overclocks, but it is unfortunately very weak compared to TEF and SBB, the damage overclocks it competes with. It has some of the harshest downsides of all of the drak overclocks and relatively small upsides in return. I guess its one advantage is that you dont need to properly manage your heat for optimal DPS like with TEF and SBB.
I tried this build even before youtube recommended this video, and the huge problem I have is that the weapons feel same-ish. And swarmers are pain in the ass
I can recomend my engi build: LOK1 Smart Rifle: 23121 + Explosive Chemical Rounds Deepcore 40mm PGL: 21322 + Fat Boy, I also recomend use Plasma Burster (yea, I like explosions a lot)
The only Drak that feels nice to use for me is the shield battery drak, 22212 and improved generator on the Armor. It deals rediculous damage above 50% heat, projectiles are fast and accurate and you got tons of ammo. If you happen to take shield damage, it starts charging back up after 1 second which is a good time to empty a Zhukov clip (GR 11211) on something unfortunate.
heya chap i just want to say a vouple things yo improve a lil bit gas recycling ks good but redundant in this build since how you built the drak is very simaler to the zhukovs. imo having an accurate burst damage secondary is better and lets you take at some enemies alot easier. shaped shells boomstick or quick fire for boltshark are some good options
Overtune particle is fun if u have good secondary option, i mainly use for this oc also zhukov but with cryo minelets, its not good but my inner empathany tells is better cause i can have free cryo plus its easier to defend against bugs yourself and teammates. Also as a scout hater I must be disapointed with this video otherwise the driller will blowup c4 beneath my chair🍄⛏️
The honestly the drak needs more sustain fire and yes it's upgrade tree needs somewhere to but honestly I think the scout entire weapon need some reworked.
I couldn't stand the drak when I first tried it because it just chews so much ammo and you overheat after killing like 3 grunts. maybe If I get the better overclocks for this gun I'll get to enjoy it
I wish they would add new gear mods to the Drak's T5 and the Wavecooker's T4 rows. With some builds you better off not using anything on those tiers which feels weird.
@@Marfius_Au_MarfongusYep. Aggressive venting and shaped shells oc shotgun. Aggressive venting saves you tons of ammo. And is great for a lot of different scenarios and mission types. It's my go to setup for EDD's. Shaped shells is great for single target damage too. Especially if you take extra damage and shell count. You just have to use it wisely. And I bring pheromone grenades to help save ammo on shaped shells by letting bugs whittle down elite targets. Or group stuff up for aggressive venting. Super fun setup. And the range of shaped shells is surprisingly long too.
@@Marfius_Au_Marfongus I wish cryo minelets would get a buff. Just need a bit more freezing power and to stay as active minelets a bit longer. I just prefer shaped shells for long range and elite killing power.
Scout already has a gear that gives vibes of "hunting", "lil' Doomguy" and "tacticool". How tactical Scout can be? Go full CQB with this kind of loadout, I guess.
Gas recycle is so overlooked. I did the math a while back. It does comparable total damage to embedded detonators. I don't understand why so many people don't like the drak. Well i kind of understand when I first played with it, it felt weeeak and not fun to use. But after playing with it more and doing the math it actually has the highest base total damage of all the scouts primarys
thats because base drak is actually a weak gun, it depends on having an OC to be good. and yeah the total base damage for drak is high but with the inherent low accuracy its hard to get all of the potential damage.
sorry but you were right, the drak is bad. Frankly the M1000 is the best primary for scout by a large margin, simply because the other 2 suck so much, not only do they not fit scouts main role, which is to hunt down and clear dangerous targets, the other rifles dont perform as good, and in terms of horde clearing, in haz5-6 is just better to ignore regular bugs and let your teammates deal with them, not only can they do it faster, they can do it more nitra efficiently. feel like the drak could either be replaced by like a fast firing grenade launcher ala team fortress 2, OR given an overclock that turns your projectiles into AOE bombs, but honestly having a primary be viable only because of an overclock is quite boring.
I gotta agree with you, scout gameplay on haz 5 is to run away from hordes and get nitra for 3 other teammates to deal with them(also light up the caves), i usually barely shoot as him there wise giving my gunner or someone else another resupply :P
