There are different versions of Kali NetHunter: NetHunter Rootless, NetHunter Lite and NetHunter. If you want to attack wifi networks (WiFi Injection) or use HID attacks, you need to use Kali NetHunter and that means that you need a rooted phone.

I'm glad to see you make these videos! I went through this process about a year ago and have a rooted NH phone. I'm hoping you'll do some follow up videos using the rooted NH device. I havent been able to find much of a following online for these things, however, I do really enjoy mine!
Aahhhh how glorious to see the TWRP recovery interface again. Between 2010 - 2015 I always ran custom recovery and custom ROMs on my devices, but I just stopped having time to keep up with it ( there's so much to maintain when you have to, say, downgrade something to do a radio/firmware update, then a new recovery or kernel may be required and you have to pay close attention to what is compatible with what, etc, - it can be very time consuming, but it sure is nice having a custom recovery and root and knowing that you can completely manage everything on your device). You end up having to spend a ton of time on XDA developers site, and that can be a real rabbit hole. 😅 Thanks for these phone/mobile tutorials, David. 👍💯

if its from canada or america, then its impossible. Samsung made all of their north american phones released in the past few years unrootable. If its european, theres likely a tutorial for you on XDA

Fun fact the nexus 6p's internal WiFi adapter "bcm4358" is able to enter monitor mode and do packet injection via nexmon, without the need of an external WiFi adapter

This video is awesome! i struggled quite a bit installing Nethunter, not knowing how to start before i found this. Then i just followed this tutorial, step by step, and finally got it running! 🥳I use just the same phone (OnePlus 7t) btw. But now i have problems getting my ALFA AWUS036NCH to run, some problems with the cyberknight kernel.. -.-

Yes you just don’t need to flash the kernel. You can skip the Kali compilation part.

Hello David ! First of all I want to thank you for your time showing how to manage installations and other stuff. I do have an issue with Nethunter.. My wireless adapter doesn't connect.. on command "lsusb" it shows the adapter but when I start wifite for example, it doesn't show me any wifi adapter.. I can't manage this problem.. can you help ? I use a TL-WN722N V2 and one ALFA awus036nh .. 😐 none of them are working..

Is there a more straightfoward way? All this with virtual machine and so on...as you are the engineer, I believe there are a technical reason for that. I already rooted my one plus 2, and have the nethunter image on the phone. I can not see it as a phone in my win 8.1, but I can see it with a kali distro(with internal storage anda all). Is maybe something "corrupt" in my PC or phone?(I can see my samsung phone allright). Thanks for the videos !
Hi David, I tried to get the Franco Kernel Manager on the Play store but I can't download it because Play says it's unavailable to my device, as it was made for an older version of Android than what I have. I'm running the exact specs & build number as you on a 7T (HD1903), so I don't understand how this is possible. Is there another kernel manger you can recommend or should I use the Twrp option ? I got two questions. Maybe I know the answer but again.
1. What about other android device which not listed on nethunter website.
2. Are we removing old Android OS or installing nethunter like a guest system or patched it on our android OS.
It's easy when you just got one of the most supported and mantained nethunter devices. Most devices wont work out of the box or wont work at all unless you figure it out by yourself.
I know they arent in the list but I would like to see this done on newer phones e.g.iphone 13 Samsung s22 etc

It would be very helpful if you could explain what a particular software does and why it needs to be installed when you install it. However, the video you made goes like this: 1. Install this, 2. Run this, 3. Click on this thing, 4. Install this, and there you go - you're done.

Is it really that simple to compile a nethunter kernel? Technically you could install a custom kernel then build off of it for nethunter?

I’m getting a refurbished one plus 7T on Wednesday for this exact purpose as I’m trying to learn as much as I can on as many devices as I can. Was an android user for probably 16 years and rooted all my devices with custom roms, the whole 9 yards but been on iOS for about a year now. There’s a lot that I miss about android. Obviously I’ll research more but I’m guessing I deviate from the steps here and not use Franco? It’s a T mobile 1907.

@davidbombal please help... I bought a OnePlus 7T. I rooted by following your guide and it worked. I installed nethunter by following your guide and it worked. I bought the Alfa 36H (2.5&5 GHz model) - it works on my Kali linux install on Virtual Box and nexus 5 nethunter but I cannot get it working on OnePlus 7T... I don't know if I need to do something else I tried to install the reaktek card as per your guide but it fails at the make section? Does the OnePlus have enough power OTG to run this WiFi adapter? Can you please check if it works on the OnePlus 7T.
