My dear girl, I don't need to b an expert, I only need to READ what respected researchers have concluded. At age 70 I presume u must b generations younger, hence a word of caution. Our education system discourages critical thinking. So a suave speaker can dazzle audiences who either r not interested in reading widely to train d mind or have never questioned authority. I don't remember what I had tweeted, but it could b about Dr Swamy's views on religion, culture and history. He is an economist and I wouldn't dare question him on his subject. But when it comes to d social sciences--history, sociology, anthropology--& literature, d arts, culture, I may not accept his views. Especially if they r not backed by research-based evidence. If u want I could explain further. As a retired teacher I am quite willing to do dat. If u r really interested to know.

Fundamental rights cannot intrude into private property. Neither Shastras nor Vedas can dictate who can enter a private devotional place. Similarly court cannot adjudicate on who can be permitted into a private place

If a community constructs a temple for their private usage, it’s a private property. Last I checked private property is respected in a democracy. Unless, they allow outsiders an access. Which they can rescind at any moment. They can even ask u to leave or ask the police to get u out if u resist.
Princely states had their own temples constructed throughout history. This is one of those private temples. They were kind enough to allow public to enter. However, they can change their mind any moment without explanation. A government should never b allowed to interfere, unless during emergencies or extenuating circumstances; but they must have a solid plan, and a deadline to leave. And as soon as the issue is resolved, they must leave immediately.

Kudos to Dr. Swamy for this dedication to rebuild magnificent temples in Ayodhya, Kashi and Mathura. Sardar Patel made sure the GREAT SOMNATH would be rebuilt magnificently. However, with regard to Sabrimala, Dr Swamy is not full correct. Temples of Bharat have NOT been temples of Prayer. Only Post-Bhakti movement, we see temple build out of LOVE and DEVOTION in Bharat. Prior to Bhakti movement, most temples in Bharat were Energy temples. Each deity was consecrated specifically for certain energies. Sabrimala deity is a Brahmachari and there-fore it has been prescribed from centuries that women of a certain age should not enter, since there is possibility of irreversible damage to their biology if they do so. I am sure Dr Swamy will change his stance after hearing the whole story.

Smrithis can be amended. Temple regulations are man made. Brahmachari reason is not sound enough. If that was the case then why would they allow women below 10 yrs and above 50 yrs? In hindu dharma, autonomous decision is very important. That is what Gita teaches. Women should decide on their own based on information. Temple has neither constitutional sanction nor scriptural sanction to ban women of child bearing age. Does menstural blood creates negative energy? Even if it does, then why ban all women of child bearing age who are not having periods? How about reducing the virat to 25 days from 41 days? Does it violate anything other than individual egos which created the ban?
Then why queen in that place use to visit sabarimala?during ancient times it was built by a royal family and their women used to visit the temple..
