Yep, that was our talented nickle, Gilbeau, that was so excited about the pick he forgot to turn around and block Lucky to allow Barron a free sideline for the pick six. I was yelling at the screen, “Block, Block, Block” but it didn’t happen. Great situational awareness from Lucky! 👏👏👏
Great stuff as always. BTW, Gunner did play baseball all the way until his senior year in high school because he enrolled early at Georgia that spring.
Dude! Your analysis is like crack! Can’t get enough. Now when I watch games I’m looking for the little nuances that you point out. Makes the games even better 💥💪🏻
i was seeing the same thing. like yeah maybe arian’s got bricks for hands, but the fact that UGA leads the league in drops has GOTTA mean that Beck’s ball is different
After watching film I realized on some of the design QB run plays that if Gunner would’ve read the correct hole that opened up the game would have not went into over time.
So. You are the only football pundit who has pointed out what Gunner does to the linebackers, safeties and de's. They are stuck in mud with Gunner. You did not see that with Carson. GREAT OBSERVATION!!
13:50 BROOOOOOO!!!! You need to give a shout out to Nate Frazier on this play!!! He took on a 315 pounder to open this up for Stockton to run... Holy God almighty Nate... That's BIG BOY BALL right there!!! 36:40 Ben Yurosek is probably the worst blocker on this Georgia team.. There's at least 2-5 plays a game where you wonder what the heck he is doing as a blocker. On this play, he already HAS the outside shoulder. Stick that left should into his pads at least to give Stockton a chance to get past him. I'm flabbergasted at him hitting the left side of the defender. It's like he didn't know the play.
Hey Brooks, Thanks for the Film Breakdown. I’m really excited about our Run Game potential with Gunner at QB. We’ve needed this as an offense frankly and get back to some old school Georgia football. Seeing us run the ball as effectively as we did on this elite Texas defense in the 2nd half gives me confidence we can run the ball on anybody. I really want to know what this offense looks like with Bobo given 3 weeks to prepare for Gunner and our guys rested and healed up.
I think you all will be fine with Gunner and be able to make a deep run to the national championship game. Go dominate, Dawgs! Hope we can meet up a third time this year for all the marbles. Hook’em!
This gunner Stockton breakdown shows me in detail and reminds me just WHY. I was not really excited about Carson Beck, deciding to stay and then he became QB1. I fully believe that a QB that is a legitimate threat in the run game makes the offense far better! I happen to believe that Georgia is more dangerous right now going into the CFP than they were ever going to be with Carson. gunner simply makes our line and RBss better and reduces the exposure/use of our WRs to our benefit.
Thank you so much brooks for this breakdown now I know for a fact ik what I’m talking about, everyone keeps telling me give gunner a chance and to be real I don’t have a choice because Kirby is clue when it comes to picking the right QB but when I was watching the game I saw live how this man was missing wide open guys like man that’s the difference between a average and Elite QB, he’s been in college years and can’t hit an open Wr or at least see it and be on time with the ball if he does not clean that up it’s going to cost us gotta be on time I knew I wasn’t tripping
Wanted to come on here and say, Gunner does indeed have a baseball background. Played him his freshman year, was starting shortstop for Rabun County. Only way I remember is he hit a moonshot off of us
On the second and 12, (35:39) the check down was the correct read. The reason is; if you miss the TE wheel, you’re in 3rd and long. The check down gets you into a manageable 3rd and 3 off a 9 yard gain after a 2 yard loss on 1st down. Coach Bobo can always come back to the wheel later in a more manageable down and distance. “I’ll take 3 yards in the flat because it forces a defender to make a basic play. If your guy can make him miss it’s a 7 or 8 yard gain.” - Joe Montana 1993 Beckett Tribute
28:20 #69 held Texas LB #0 Anthony Hill during the play, refs didn't call it. That's why Etienne makes the corner clean. It would be 7 yards normally (if the lineman doesn't hold) or -10 yards instead of +60 if the refs called holding equally during the game.
@@jarrettrussell985 Relax, Georgia beat us / Texas beat itself at times. Not blaming the refs just pointing out that big run doesn't happen if either the lineman doesn't hold Anthony Hill, our best LB, or the refs call the obvious hold after calling all the holds on Texas in the first half.
You mention how "heavy" the ball is on arrival for Gunner. Based on the receivers catches, I'd say not as heavy as Carson's... Gunner has a more "catchable" ball it would seem. I noticed it in the spring as well.
25 completions for just 206 yards through 13 games. 1 interception in 32 throws. We don't have a large sample on Gunner Stockton (6-feet, 215 pounds). He's a gamer.....that we know for 100% sure, as evidenced from the game winning first down run in overtime. Can he operate the vertical passing game? We'll find out soon. That's for sure.
Just noticed on the FIB concept you point out that UGA was in an odd front with the OL. They actually had Truss lined up like a TE on the left side with 84 lined up as the RT. Wonder if they do that to try and trick Texas into guessing run based on alignment.
I think it was funny some people were saying because UGA lost the starting quarterback they shouldn’t be in the playoffs. It isn’t like Stockton was playing in middle school last year. He’s a 4 or 5 star. He’s probably better than half the quarterbacks playing currently.
This was a thing of Beauty Brooks. I almost wrecked the company truck watching while driving. Made it home and finished this masterpiece. You’re 2/2 on Gunner breakdowns
I know he hasn't played a ton but at 37:34 if he runs straight ahead up the hash, worse case he gets it to about the 2. Add the miss to a wide open Delp earlier at 31:02 and the miss at 51:27 and this game doesn't go to overtime. Great job in relief nonetheless
I think the offense will more like it was with Stetson. Gunner had a lot of issues he still had to fix but he plays with a ton of confidence. He also played extremely well for a player who had to come in and play in a huge game in a gameplan that wasn’t for him or his play style.
29:18 I'll venture that that was a game saving (for the time being at least) tackle there. If ETN houses that thing it's an explosive TD to make it 17-6, and there's blood in the water. Instead they hold the Dawgs to 3 and keep it a 1 score game
Brooooooooks! With gunner throwing a more violent ball, does that help us or hurt us with our WR drop issues? Additionally, would it be possible we see more of the young WRs who may have repped more with him?
I think Gunner may be another small hand QB, similar to Jake fromm.. do u know by chance Brooks? if Gunner has large or small hands? I'm curious, but the ball he throws looks like he might
Gunner having to do a full crow hop every time he throws something over 10 yards is more discouraging than his release. Stet would just catch, turn and rip on those now screens.
You skipped over the absolute most important play of the entire game for film breakdown. The INT late in the game where Gunner has three options underneath over the middle but he flushes right and throws it right to Texas. This is why he's the backup. This is the play every single DC will look at and say, "we gotcha".
25:11 Dylan’s eye discipline is terrible on this play they played slide left and right side locked Etienne has the backer. He got beat because instead of being an athlete and just giving a hand to Jared he uses his whole body and looks at the 2i.
I'm skeptical this is going to work. We basically can't play from behind now, heavy pressure on our defense. Would be nice to get Beck back by semis or finals, if we advance.
they were preparing for gunner bc they were trying to hurt Carson. they tried to hurt gunner as well. there were multiple dirty hits. not just those two. they held on every single offensive play. They were playing dirty bc their coach is a clown and a sore loser
IF YOU DON'T SUBSCRIBE, YOU THINK THE BIG12 IS THE BEST CONFERENCE

I think gunner can eliminate that feet shuffle on the screen. Just pop and throw. @thefilmguynetwork

😂This comment by @thefilmguynetwork proves this podcast’s pure genius. I’m givin’ ya 3 claps for it. 👏👏👏
Ripper at around 45:00 was so hard that Arion did not have a chance to think about dropping it.
I love how Brooks gives props, no matter the opponents. These defenses were playing lights out.
Yep, that was our talented nickle, Gilbeau, that was so excited about the pick he forgot to turn around and block Lucky to allow Barron a free sideline for the pick six.
I was yelling at the screen, “Block, Block, Block” but it didn’t happen.

Gunner should have thrown that ball a lot higher. Way to low for an out of bounds throw. Could have just kicked a field goal and ended it.
Great stuff as always. BTW, Gunner did play baseball all the way until his senior year in high school because he enrolled early at Georgia that spring.
I was wrong then!
@@TheFilmGuyNetwork 2nd team all American two years I believe.

Loving the way Gunnar helped open the run game. The Pavia comp is brilliant as well. Very encouraging film for Gunner!
I hope Georgia is using this man as an asset. Thank you for being here. Go Dawgs
They aren't.
Dude! Your analysis is like crack! Can’t get enough. Now when I watch games I’m looking for the little nuances that you point out. Makes the games even better 💥💪🏻
I think the receivers love Stockton's delivery. Arian Smith actually caught a clean pass from Stockton.😂
i was seeing the same thing. like yeah maybe arian’s got bricks for hands, but the fact that UGA leads the league in drops has GOTTA mean that Beck’s ball is different
I have a theory. Gunner rips the ball so hard that the receivers know he means business.
@@Ev.McAfee It actually is tbh. Beck loves baseball.
Great stuff. Really excellent analysis and content.

Gunner is not the only Georgia ball carrier that missed open holes that night , Go Dawgs!!!
@@Only1Ratedyup. Etienne had an alley inside late in 4th for nice gain, one arm tackle to break to score. and bounced it to gain almost nothing.
“Heck! You gotta bring your pads today boy!” Lmao good one Jwill
BA’s breakdowns have become about as looked forward to from me as the games themselves. SUAGTT

That fraction of a second where he paused after saying "these defenders coming into my face" lmaoooo!!
Appreciate you so much Brooks! Love the breakdown.

Almost fumbled and almost cost us the game he gotta learn to hold the ball better

Gunner has a problem staring down the receivers. Xavier Watts is gonna read that
Bro Trevor is so damn good. I am so grateful he is on our team and healthy. He must hate Texas the way he has played against them.
Offensive MVP in both contests for y'all IMHO.
That intro is great
Hey Brooks - that’s the side judge making the call on the Luckie catch. Back Judge is center of the field
ah shucks, missed the live version! What I'm hopin is Gunner can buy time out of the pocket so our receivers can get more separation

One of the fastest ball out I can think of is when Tua threw it to Devonta Smith to win the natty safety had no time to react
When brooks get 50000 subs he gotta do a tik tok dance 😂😂
Disappointing gunner's mechanics weren't cleaned up more in his first three seasons at georgia.
37:30 if Gunner gets on the guards right hip , it's a walk in TD. He went left early

New to football?
Did you see the cutback lane on Cash's 4th down run? Oh my! 1 or 3 makes that cut and it's 7.

So you think Jaden becomes QB2, since he has more experience than Puglisi and he could run the Gunner type offense better?
My bet is there will be a spring battle for QB2
