We need to celebrate Fathers like this gentleman who stayed on course looking for his child. He never came on stage bashing her Mom (which in this case it would be understood if he did) but rather kept his focus on the child he had longed to find.

@@scottrogue946 he was young and away serving in the military. He made a mistake, but wanted to own up to it right away and accept his responsibility. He was prevented from doing so by a bitter women who was upset by the reality of the situation (and a bit stalker-ish as well. As he said, he initially wanted her coworker but she kept his number for herself). What she did hurt him, but hurt their daughter far more.

Sadly the military teaches you to OVERLY bottle up and control your emotions. I’ve seen it in my personal (I “WAS” married to the military). They’re literally conditioned to do so. If they don’t learn to unpack all of the conditioning it only seeps into their adult lives.

My 4 year old grandson is very aware. I can't imagine being shipped off someplace at age 4 with strangers wondering where your mom and dad are and why you were given away.

My heart is so happy for them both. The fact he never gave up against All odds because the odds were definitely against him. Also when the mother wasn't there that told me everything I needed to know. It kinda of reminded me of Paternity court with Judge Lauren Lake when the mother doesn't appear on the episode 9 times out of 10 hes the Father. I just wish the best for them both.

@@LilT2o00I don’t know about that because my cousin adopted her niece. The biological dad has never had anything to do with child and isn’t on her birth certificate. My cousin was told by her attorney she wouldn’t be able to adopt her without either A) getting him to sign over his rights or B) running notices in newspapers in the city where his last known address that list his and and tell him about the intention to adopt.

That doesn’t make sense. His engagement wouldn’t stop her from receiving child support. She is actually MORE likely to receive child support if he’s in the military once paternity is established and there is a court order. It’s more likely she didn’t know he was engaged until after she was pregnant, was pissed off at him, and wanted nothing to do with him.
@anndeecosita3586 it's just a theory, but there could be a number of reasons. None of which would still make sense to me as to why she gave the child away and denied her the right to her father when he was actively still trying to be present

You can tell he’s a good dude. He gave her her space bc I see a lot of men who come in with similar stories and they automatically go into the physical arm around the child or hugging all over them. He waited until he felt she was comfortable to hug him. I feel bad they had to go through that
