He even knew that his side will ultimately killed in kurukshetra war after losing badly to Arjuna in Virata war&Duryodhan's foolish attempt to arrest Srikrishna which failed where he revealed his divine from to Bhishma,dhrona,vidhur and all sages and his devotees but whereas all Kauravas including Karna&Shakuni got fainted,so while meeting with Srikrishna where he comes to know he is elder brother to pandavas but decides to die on Duryodhan's side by stating he knew that no human will stand in front of Srikrishna's plans and strategy's also time is heading towards dwaparayuga's end and its evident that Kurus and their supporters end is very soon so he will perish with them,but only making himself superior than Arjuna in war!!

Arjun had never any confrontation with Dronacharya and Bhishma before their battle in Kurukshetra. This is according to original versions of Mahabharata. Even Maharishi Vedavyasa never wrote about Viraat Yudh.
Also any person thinking logically and rationally will definitely question, how Arjun who Defeated entire army of Kaurava Warriors single handedly had to struggle and eventually use deceit in killing of Bhishma, Dronacharya and Karn.

He never blamed anyone for anything, accepted his courses as well as his death. I like every character in Mahabharat as they taught us a lot about life. But I also love Karna and Bhima the most.
