I really like your channel and content and I’ve commented before. I’m just surprised you don’t have more of your hunts as content on this channel ? I know I would enjoy seeing some of that..hope you have success this year !
Late reply here- I used to film my hunts but if you have ever tried it, it’s an incredible amount of work. Then one year it cost me a beautiful 10 ptr. I was trying to get him in the frame and he took off. If I had just shot him; I wouldn’t have lost him. Made me feel pretty sick so I said no more filming after that.
The only scrapes i have had adopted is just simple removing the leaves to bar dirt and peeing into the dirt, and it's a 50/50 with them, I maybe put 8 to 10 scrapes out and half of them will get used
I have found if the deer don't almost bump there heads on them they won't be used. Try really hard to get right in center of trail if I can or next to it. Usually I use stick to clear ground below my hanging stick and the take a leak in it. Have had high success with this.
I usually just tie a branch down to waist height in the right location? Where legal I cut all possible scrape branches in the immediate area. Oak seems to work or I hang a four ft section of tree root! Usually scrape out area n deposited buck urine in it, I use frozen scents. Good luck this year!
@@deanmccabe8783 that works great. I’ve used overhead branches, I’ve hung a chunk of stick to an overhead tree branch, and I’ve leaned up a branch against a tree. Really anything works. Good luck to you too!
@@4joutdoors thanks- I used to film them but I don’t anymore. It’s so much work and the final straw was when I had a beautiful big woods 10 ptr come by and as I was trying to get him in the frame, he took off and I never got a shot at him. After that I was so frustrated by the experience I said I’m going to just shoot the bucks from now on- ha. Good luck this fall!
That buck at 7:45 is a TANK! That gets me all jacked up. Got to love northern MN look at that beast
I know that thing is quite the specimen- nothing like those north woods bucks!
You do a great job explaining your tactics.
@@daveguttormson6315 hey thanks I appreciate it. Good luck this fall!
All about the Visual it seems. make them stick out like a sore thumb. i want to master scrapes. so intriguing

The bodies on those northern deer are impressive! We have decent size bodies in KY but man those northern bucks have huge necks!
I know they are incredible- lucky to have them up here!

That’s about as good of a rate as you can expect. I never get 100% adoption

Sounds like a good setup
