Minecraft new snapshot 24w11a for 1.21 update and 1.20.5 java review. Added new weapon that's a mace made from breeze rod and heavy core from vault block using trial key from trial spawner when beating the trial chambers. Mace does knockback, prevents fall damage, and extra damage when falling. Also new dog variants with dog armor using armadillo scute to repair and dye wolf armor, adds new mossy skeleton mob type called bogged, hopper change, breeze new wind charge item changes, NBT removed and replaced with components, and bug fixes. ►More News videos: • Minecraft Snapshot News

Now this is how a combat update should be weapons that require some skill to use
I do hope that they balance this in pvp as a few block drop instakill is not very skill based, especially now with wind charges where you can consistently hit opponents with 15-20 damage hits (before prot reduction). Otherwise I have a sneaking suspicion that maces will be disabled in most pvp survival servers (similar to endcrystals).
You say that as if people dont get mad that pvp is no longer determined by how fast you can click.

the mace takes almost zero skill to use compared to most already established combat techniques

and then one for one-shotting a mob called “bonk!”
So between the mace and the wind charges we pretty much have the TF2 trolldier in vanilla minecraft. Cool.
Feel like it needs a 3d model like the trident does, looks a little weird with that many pixels clustered together.
They should add an enchantment for helmet which decreases damage that "comes from above"
So a slight debuff to for example anvil traps or the mace, making it fairer in pvp

I think the patterns are called "guster", probably because the breeze uses gusts of wind as an attack
I think he just didnt take the time to actually read it, much like how it’s called a pottery shred, not shard
This is probably the most excited I've ever been to play a Minecraft update
There has also been caves and cliffs improving exploring the world massively, but from the point of gameplay mechanics this is by far my favorite too.
Caves and Cliffs bored me lol, this seems actually fun to play.

Probably the height you’ve fallen, like fall damage when you use a wind charge
Elytra does count currently as well which is cool 😎

i hope in the final version of the update items would be able to fall through the copper grate block, would be really useful for farms as you can directly place the items into a water stream without having to use hopper minecarts and rails

This is one of the best updates Minecraft has released in a while. Auto-crafting is finally here, the dungeons have been updated, and now there is a new weapon, too! Not only that, but wind charges have revolutionized parkour.

The Trial Chambers really remind me of the dungeon from Terraria with the locked vaults that are opened by keys dropped by fighting enemies or breaking pots, and also just the overall maze-like feel of the structure. This is looking like a really cool update and I'm very excited to see what else they've got in store for it.
This is not the first time they are "fixing" ghost buckets. I hope it's the last one though.
I hope they make vaults openable an infinite amount of times, but all the times after the first one is worse loot.
So if you have like hundreds of keys you can actually use them on something.
You are supposed to find other trial chambers with extra keys
Personally, I like extra key items to collect. I can use them to open redstone doors with actual key items than a renamed piece of paper.
The wooden ladders feel out of place in the trial chambers. Do you think they'll add copper ladders? 👀
And the stage of oxidation effects the climbing speed!
@@tthbeige3332 If it's waxed, you go up more slowly but down faster, because it's slippery!
Also, the base speed of copper ladders should be faster than wooden ladders or else there would be no real point to crafting them, probably.

The mace could have some really cool enchantments like being able to get more damage from the ground pound thing. Could also stun
Minecraft should add an enchant called lifting that lets you double jump while holding the hammer (the enchant would go on the hammer)
Or better yet let you dash in the detection your looking, then they remove using rockets for elytra’s so that using this dashing feature is a better yet still fast movement mechanism. Also I forgot to mention you wouldn’t be able to dash until you’ve touched the ground again

The first thing I thought of when I saw this 7:12 was "I wonder if you could play tennis by slashing the wind charge like that" and now I wanna find out if that's possible.
I have a few things I'm wondering about the mace, mainly if you can use some form of jump boots to consistently activate the special effect and if that is good DPS, and if descending with an elytra counts as falling, or flying into the air and then unequipping the elytra.

The amount of knockback is not determined by how much you fall, it's always a constant after a specific amount of falling. Only the damage fully scales with fall height

do i have to hit the ground for the hight difference damage? and does "falling" with an active elytra count?
lets say a wither is flying 50 blocks above the ground, can i elytra up to like 400, dive down and then hit it with extra dmg?
or could i fly up, unequip the elitra to enter falling mode, then smack the wither? would that make a difference?

How about a sniper type weapon? We allready got soldier from tf2.
If you get pistons to push you up a bubble column and fall all the way back down automatically there is a chance you can time you auto clicker so that you can one hit mobs.
Now that the vault have unique drop, i can finally address my problem with the vault. The vault can only be unlocked once per player, which will encourages other player to search for another vault. But this causes problem (especially in single player) that there will be renewable vault key but the vault itself is limited (similar problem also happen in terraria with biome key before shimmer update) I think making the vault that you've already opened can only drop common loot afterward would be cool
I hope they will add some ways to restore the mace because you can repair on anvil only so many times until it's "too expensive"
Im guessing this gives jump boost a really cool use here

Also I hope they put the wind charge + sword bug back in as a feature, or at least add an item you can hit around with swords. Maybe a ball made out of a wind charge and armadillo scutes? Doing damage with it could be fun, but. I think Minecraft is long overdue for a simple ball we can kick, throw, or hit around.
you could easily kill a wither one hit, if that would be the case. not even skill required.

They should add a vault for other structures like mansions, the end stronghold, and the nether fortress
Jump boosting effect will be more useful in pvp now
I`ll frame my sword and use new mace couse it's looking way cooler, but I really wish they will add some special enchants for that biggo hammer
i did a little testing and from what i can see it looks like you can one shot a full prot 4 netherite player with a drop of roughly 15 blocks

Does slow falling effect negate the increase damage from the attacks fall hight?
I think they should make hitting a charge an intended mechanic. Like increasing the speed depending on how it was hit.
Does the mace damage reset if you swing it once first mid-fall? Like instead of falling 100 blocks and hitting, you fall 100, hit at 50, and then again at the ground?

I feel like the mace crafting recipe should be more expensive ngl, it does the same dmg as a diamond sword but better. Maybe like an iron ingot at the base or smth.
