Ms. Marie Hit A Raccoon & Messed Up Her Civic!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 жов 2024
- In this video I help Miss Marie fix up her Civic. She smacked a raccoon on her way to work in the early hours of the morning. She didn't think it did much damage but a few miles down the road the car started to overheat and she knows enough from being in the shop to pull over and shut it off!! Let's see if we can get her car back on the road.
(F.Y.I. body work is way out of my wheel house so go easy on me in the comments.) -Enjoy!

Hi Big Clive! Funny how we tend to run in the same circles!
@@anthonysterling695 Me too.
You are everywhere.
Didnt know ud be here bigclive
This job was definitely NOT "way out of your wheelhouse." You did a better job than most body shops and helped Ms. marie out of a huge jam. Much respect.
@Stimpy&Ren I was thinking the same thing :o)
Awesome job Eric!!!
Marie was lucky more damage was not inflicted!
@Stimpy&Ren Yooooo stooooopid EEEEEDIOT!!! Just kidding. Just had to say that.
I was going to comment the same. Eric's attention to detail is unmatched.
Wonderful job!! Am sure the strawberry sundae was great too and you both spent some quality time together.
I had to replace my daughter’s fan assembly on her Renegade, she assisted. We had a wonderful time, enjoyed every moment!!!
"I have closure... he's dead." Marie's BRUTAL!!! haha
yeah,i didn't expect that response when mr o asked if she had any final words, which makes it all the more funny, lol
I think that she was referring to the fact that the animal wasn't suffering and possibly starving and was out of its misery.
Or that she just got even, sort of!
Just be glad it wasn't a skunk! Had one of those once, it was a real stinker, lol.

My dad was a lifelong mechanic. So I grew up in a shop, cleaning parts, sweeping flours and anything else dad had for me to do. That was a good time in my life and I learned a lot from a very good mechanic. I'm now 81 and must say that I've used many principals learned at my dad's elbo. The principals of observing, analyzing, solving, and making the customer happy. you are doing a good job raising your family in a good environment and doing a very good mechanical job meeting your communities repair needs. I enjoy watching your videos very much. Keep up the good work.
My only addition would be a pair of safety glasses for his safety squints
This model has raccoon and pinion steering I'd say.
Looks like it got a big roDENT in the front
Bad. Very bad.
That comment should be dragged out in the street and shot. Nicely done.

Saving the world, one raccoon damaged vehicle at a time. You never stop helping out wherever you can, good man. Marie is lucky to have a good boss who helps and teaches. 🥳👍
Good job
Eric O is the man did a good job and helped Marie get her car fixed and back on the road.

He did not save the raccoon
Mr. O you constantly remind me why I subscribe to this channel. What a great video! Really, a great job!
Yet another video where it's almost impossible to tell if the other person is family, or employee. You and Ray are my favorite mechanics because you both are amazing people.
I'm certain you saved her quite a bit of money over going to a body shop. Going that extra mile is the difference between a good mechanic and a great mechanic. Great job man!
I think that this video is a prime example of why the channel is so popular. There are many other really good techs here on UA-cam. You go above the rest. This is because you advise people without thought to what you are going to get out of it. With all the nastiness out there, you are very charitable with customers, friends, and the community.
DOA Raccoon + $100 Bill + 1 Strawberry Sundae= 1 great boss making Marie one happy girl. Well done Eric!

i know I am 3 years late watching this, but I am impressed by the young ladies familiarity with the shop. She knew where everything was and knew what the tools were called, plus she was interested in everything you were doing. Ya got a great heart. I know you enjoyed the ice cream.
I think she is the daughter.

They leave a thumbs down b/c their jealous.
Miss Marie is super lucky to have you. Enjoy your well deserved ice cream!
Eric, you helped Miss Marie get her car back on the road inexpensively. Kudos to the both of you, a job well done.
RIP Rocket the Raccoon. After a long life of fighting evil; he met his match, a Honda Civic.
I worked for a guy who replaced engines (put a Ford engine in a Jeep body) and did all sorts of auto repairs. He helped me install a replacement transmission in my truck and that was about 12 years ago and she still runs great. It was a huge help to keep me from paying full cost of replacement and I'm sure those girls appreciate having you help them when they need it. It's always nice to see a video of you helping them fix their cars. As much as possible try to make them do the work, it's a great confidence builder. Thanks for making quality content we enjoy watching your videos and my little 8 yr old daughter often asks me if she can watch that guy fix cars because he makes it fun to learn.
My youngest (shes 6) loves watching SMA with me too! She's started saying his catch phrases now (HonDoo, Schweet!, "theres your problem lady!, etc).

You're a good man to help This girl and the way It turned out, I hope she's very understanding for the labor that you put Her car.😊😊
Eric, thanks for coming to the rescue of a young person who is (from all appearances) trying to be responsible. I never got the impression she felt like you owed it to her and she works...at JOB. She stuck by your side pretty well. I here so many kids say, when something happens "well my parents will just have to buy me another car". The parents mistake was buying the first one! One tends to be more frugal, with what you EARN! Great video!
You are not only the best mechanic I've ever seen (besides my dad) but one of the nicest guys. You're pretty damn cool Eric O.
Eric what your doing for Marie is fantastic. Nothing more rewarding than to help someone in need great job. ❤️

You guys are very lucky to have a pick n pull. In Vancouver Canada they decided to get rid of a majority of wrecking yards. So you can not get parts to repair your old car anymore. Great job as always...enjoy your strawberry sundae.
You do Whatever it Takes to get the Young Lady (Ms. Marie) back into her Vehicle so you and Mrs. O can have some Alone Time during the Memorial Day Weekend. 😬👍
That raccoon gives a new meaning to " Road - Dents" (rodents).
Yeeeea except raccoons are not rodents, sooo... 🐾
@@ipissed Ouch, but I still liked it :)
True, raccoons are not in the rodent family. They're in the procyonid family of critters. They're actually related to bears, believe it or not.
Fun Fact: Rabbits aren't true rodents.
ipissed true but it still made a dent
they should be called rodents/pests period ;)
Eric O., candidate for humanitarian mechanic of the year. I only wish I lived closer to Avoca.
Mr.O, i find it almost comical when you say something is out of your wheelhouse. After watching over 100 hours of video from you, nothing is out of your wheel house! Great job as always! Got the young lady all fixed up.
"I feel like we should say something" .. "OK, let's go !" :) Classic !
The racoons family/friends are planning some payback. "WE SAW WHAT YOU DID TO OUR KIN!" 🦊😳🤣
Why do ppl feel its necessary to say something
You, sir, are the kind of technician who attracts customers. Not only do you show us how good you are, you don't gift us with comments of being the best, and that brings you to an approachable level we love to see more of.
I wish we had more people like you.
You're such a great man! I love the way you look after Ms. Marie and your daughters other friends like you're their stepdad!
You're definitely a nice person to be helping Marie out! What a great boss.
Thank you sir, i have three girls about Ms. Marie's age! Very heart warming to me to see you help her out.......Eric you are the man....Thanks for putting on those safety glasses too btw..lol
In spite of the numerous times I've watched this, I still look away or close my eyes every time you strike an arc...force of habit?

Nothing beats a nice trip to Wilbert's on a sunny day and finding what you need. Good on you for fixing Marie up on the short dime and walking her through it all. Oh, and RIP Slugger the racoon, you packed quite a punch.
Eric, you worry to much of what others say or think. You do a very good job at everything you do. you are great with the young adults. Keep it up.
I do enjoy the in advance responses to the impending comments - usually it's to stuff we all know is coming - the usual "you're doing it wrong!!!" comment.
Employers like you are very rare these days. going above and beyond for an employee . this young lady is lucky to work for you. the repair was done very well IMO.
Im sure a body shop would do darn close to what you did. It works. Its an older car. And the body shop would charge more than ice cream...lol
Just wanted to give a shout out from Australia 🇦🇺.
Love the work from you and your lovely wife.
Thank you..

It’s great to see random acts of kindness especially when that time could have been used on paying customers. You are truly representative of the American way of life. It reminds me of Norman Rockwell’s paintings. You pick which one (or a bunch).
I greatly admire your work.
Thanks 🙏
Very impressive work
DEFINITELY more than $100 worth if you had someone else do it
I’d volunteer to vinyl cut a raccoon decal to put on the drivers door like a WWII fighter kill board lol
My latest used car has two cat decals on the back glass. I've always wondered! Do people actually try for a decal? If so are they your friends and why would they still be your friends?
Cool idea, I’ve got about 1.75 million miles so far in a semi. It would look more like a peta truck. Or from old McDonald’s farm. I don’t swerve in a semi.
This should happen.
soloban81 I want decal,s of cell phones 😎
Chevy Chase in rural areas with little lighting it’s not hard to accidentally hit critters. My wife drilled two armadillos in my 91 Honda Civic Si in the span of 15 minutes on a back County highway one night.
Eric....you are a gentleman and a scholar (AND JUST A DANG GOOD GUY)
Glad that you are always there for Ms Marie and Ms Hannah
Wow, you guys are like family-are you? Well, she has a great friend if in you sir!
Very cool to help out Marie. She got off pretty inexpensively.
I was thinking the same thing, when i had the front end done on my volvo v50 it cost the Insurance £2500 for one headlight, new bumper, new front brace and respray. I would say buying a month of ice cream Sundays would still be cheap.
Gylan Underhill I thought Volvo bumper covers come painted. (They used to about 10+ years ago.)
Dunno about Volvos in particular, but it's not uncommon for a repair shop or dealer to order the part (which comes in the raw) and immediately send it out for paint, according to the vehicle's colour code - the customer only sees the painted result, so it looks like it was already painted when it arrived. These days, there's too many colours available for each model to stock one of each shade, so it's more efficient to just paint them as required.
And it's a repair she can trust..If only we all could have a friend/boss/mentor like Mr "O"... :)
@Dave McGaffney I still remember when he used the moniker "Doctor O." Last time I heard him say that was back in 2014, I think. ua-cam.com/video/_xf2xzDS92I/v-deo.html
Man, that seems soooo long ago. :-P
Mrs O says you can fix anything. At this rate you won’t need an ice cream machine you just need to raise raccoon’s.

Bruh, awesome job bruh. Like you saved Ms. Marie a few bucks bruh. You're one of a kind Eric.
DUDE!!! Safety glasses when layin under that drill. :)
That I have done in the past when I needed a part like this was to use a sawzall and over cut to get the part + out. Then when you have it out and at the shop (or driveway in my case) get it down to just the part. Makes it easier when you have access to all your tools rather than just what you packed to the yard
Great work Eric. You just taught Miss Marie a lesson she won’t learn in school. Paying it forward is a wonderful thing and it’s not surprising to see you do this more than one time. Take care!
Good job, Eric O.! I like how you help out the girls.

I am in collision end of things and yes that’s exactly how we would of done it. Would of used a resistance welder instead of plug welds but either way works just fine. Nice job as always Mr O
Like I had said above most come from factory as mig welds. Sometimes we use a spot welder. It's pretty much factory spot on if not better.
She seems a sweetheart, cute too. Maybe I need to see if they need heavy equipment mechanics in your area ha. You did better than most body placed because they would have only spot welded the front and sheared the ones out the rear. You took the time to drill and plugweld. Hats to you
